We now have new shoe storage in the motorhome. Shoe storage is always a bit of a problem in the motorhome. How do you find room for all the shoes? Now we've added a new type of shoe storage to our boxes in the garage, namely a hanging storage unit on the inside of one of the garage doors.
The clothes rod in the wardrobe collapsed
Yesterday, the clothes rod in the wardrobe collapsed, with the result that all the shirts, dresses and jackets lay in one big pile on the floor ... The clothes rod has been in place for many years and finally the pressure of the clothes became too heavy and the suspension device gave way. It's never fun when something collapses, but the advantage can be that you get to grips with it and make sure you find an even better solution!
Clothing storage in our motorhome
We store some of our clothes inside the motorhome. In the drawers around the beds we have things like underwear, socks, belts, T-shirts and jumpers. Things that you want to hang are not as practical to store inside the motorhome. That's why we built a clothes rail in one half of the garage, which we blocked off with a disc from the other half where we store outdoor furniture and barbecues and such.
On the clothes rod in the garage we hang shirts, dresses and jackets. We also have drawers in the back where we put some mixed items such as shoes and bags. Today we bought a new clothes rail and installed it. At the same time we took the opportunity to fix some other things.
New shoe storage in the motorhome
When we got the new clothes rod up, we took the opportunity to mount the shoe storage that we had brought with us from Sweden, but which we had not managed to put up before. Peter bought the shoe storage in the store Granit in Stockholm before we left, and now we put it up on the inside of one of the garage doors. There is room for six pairs of shoes - the perfect complement to other storage options in the motorhome!

Smart! Now I only see high-heeled shoes and two pairs of sandals. Just wondering if Peter also has shoes or if he goes barefoot;-)
Drive carefully tomorrow!

Practical and in terms of storage, I understand that it is needed. I wonder if Peter has his own shoe storage....
It is exciting to see where you are going...

BP, haha... we have shoes in more places!
Ditte, both Peter and I have more shoes... But it's the smallest shoes that fit best in this storage unit....

Haven't you bought any Portuguese shoes? I usually have a hard time finding shoes I like. Here in Portugal I could buy a pair a day!

You have to find good storage places in the motorhome. 🙂

Deciree, you have a lot of stuff with you...
😉
Aila, so far it is helping us to make more room in our big shoe box. In the corner storage only small shoes fit (sandals, thin shoes and some of my, Helena's, shoes).
Lars, it became another place to store shoes. Less messy!

Ouch. It could have been a worse race. My mum had a similar shoe storage unit in her day. A few more compartments. You should know that she died young in 1962, so it was a long time ago!

Veiken, you mean that we are not the first with this idea... haha. Well, old ideas can be good!
