We have now arrived on the Costa del Sol, the Spanish sunshine coast! We feel like standing still at a campsite for a week or so, and have therefore been looking for a place that we can enjoy. Now we have found Laguna Playa in Torre del Mar, just east of Malaga.
Table of contents
Costa del Sol in Spain
The Costa del Sol is the coastal strip that stretches from Nerja in the east to Manilva in the west. The coastal strip is around 20 kilometres long and includes Torre del Mar, Vélez-Malaga, Malaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara and Estepona. There are long, beautiful beaches and a relatively large number of Scandinavians, not least in Fuengirola.
Torre del Mar on the Costa del Sol
We have found Torre del Mar, which is a well-kept small holiday town just east of Malaga. Among other things, there is a long, fine seafront promenade, Paseo Maritimo, where people walk and cycle in a never-ending stream. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops.
Camping in Torre del Mar
We have stayed at camping Laguna Playa with our motorhome. This campsite is located right on the waterfront in Torre del Mar and is within walking distance of the promenade, all the restaurants and the centre. The campsite itself is relatively simple, but stuffedand we got the absolutely last the place. We think we can live here for a while - especially if we get good weather!
What do we do all day?
"You'll be bored!" were the warnings before we set off on our year-long journey around Europe. Some worried that not working would be boring and wondered how we would pass the time. We know that we love travelling, but just in case, we stocked up on things to do. make. I was planning a writing project and Peter was buying different video games. So how did it turn out?
Everyday chores take time
I write whenever I have time, but it's far from every day. Peter hasn't even unpacked his games yet... In a funny way, we're busy when we're not working! When we move, a lot of time is spent packing up, making travel plans, looking for sites and driving.
Everyday chores also take up more time than at home - you should filling water in the motorhome, emptying tanks and keeping track of electricity and LPG consumption. The motorhome needs to be looked after and there's always something small to fix - a squeaky hinge, a clogged drain or a light on the dashboard.
Dealing with new circumstances
Plus, we're always in new places! How do the washing machines work at this campsite? What's the best way to get internet in this country? Not to mention the time spent shopping for food!
Every time we are in a new supermarket where we can't find... And if you want to find "different" products like crème fraiche or sambal oelek, you have to be prepared to spend many hours travelling between shops looking for ...
New impressions
Our life on the move is full of different impressions. Almost every day we experience new places, meet new people and try to crack new codes about how things work. It takes some time to digest all the impressions, and we want to take photos and write about what we experience!
We also meet both bloggers and motorhome travellers, and right now we are planning for various friends and relatives to come and visit us. Then we want to exercise, sunbathe, cook and eat good food, follow blogs and read books too... Even though we should have all the time in the world, we can tell you that we haven't been bored yet. On the contrary, we think that travelling is very exciting and fun!

Mr Steve says:
Costa del Sol. So you too have arrived where "everyone" has been. I think it's only right, even you need a holiday sometimes. Have a good one!

Then you have passed our settlement!
Live well!

Lars Permeln says:
It looks lovely and good, we would also choose to stay there for a while to enjoy the sunshine coast's range of amenities and beautiful surroundings.

Henny says:
Peter certainly looks like a real vagabond. Have a good time on the sunny coast, enjoy the nomadic life and the organised forms that a campsite entails...

BP says:
Great! Congratulations on the nice pitch! Oh wifi seems to have found you too!
Oh Peter's new look - yes, the holiday look with a five-day stubble and some "vegetation" in the middle of his head...;-)

Matts Torebring says:
It looked like a place for us too, neat and tidy. Hope the picture speaks the truth. Hugs

Ditte says:
Nice with a place near the sea and today it has been today. There is a lot to see and experience there on the coast.Malaga is a lovely city with a nice old city centre and the Picasso Museum. Also easy to take the train along the coast. A trip up to Nerja and to Granada may also be on a programme. Exciting to keep up with.

Steve, yes haha, even we have to find the tourist spots!
🙂
Lennart, oh have we? The Spanish coast is so long and we have a little difficulty keeping track of where everyone is... Are you in Marbella? We tried a campsite there (Cabopino), but it was a bit too big for us and a bit too far from everything... What kind of place are you staying at?
Lars, I've actually never been to the Costa del Sol before, so it will be nice!
BP, haha, yes we saved some at the top! 1 gig wifi per week per person is included in the campsite.
Henny, hehe, yes, it has probably become a little vagabond hairstyle, including stubble!
😉
Matts, the promenade is very nice! No cheating in the pictures, haha. The campsite, on the other hand, is a bit cramped and quite simple, but it is well located.
Ditte, maybe some of that is part of the programme! We start with some peace and quiet, maybe some exercise, cleaning and sunbathing (in the best case scenario).

Marina says:
A bit exciting that it's so full even though it's so much "off season". It would be interesting to know what type of tourists there are, if there are more "people like you" or if it is mostly weekend celebrating local talent.

Rolle and Carina, great to get this instead of the Swedish cold!
Marina, thanks for reminding me that I should explain this! The whole of southern Europe is packed with motorhomes. There are campsites and pitches everywhere and most of them can accommodate 100s of motorhomes. It's retired people from northern Europe who spend the winter! They come down in the autumn and go home in the spring.
Lennart, easy to stand with friends! And the place usually looks nice in your pictures!

Birgitta says:
Full of motorhomes from northern Europe it is 🙂 a little worrying that all campsites are so full, difficult then to spontaneously choose camping you have to take it where you get a place 🙂 In the autumn we drive to overwinter and set myself up to spend the night where there is space simply. I am very happy for you and the other wintering blogs because I get so many tips!
Rest now for a few days and enjoy the sun, it will be 22 degrees plus, I saw on TV.

Birgitta, how nice that you are going on a wintering trip in the autumn! Do not worry about places! There are so many motorhomes out there, but there are also plenty of campsites and pitches! We're completely spontaneous, and that's no problem. If this campsite had been full, we would have simply gone somewhere else. There are more campsites in this town alone, and there are also a lot of free campers.

Haha, when we came to Laguna Camping we got the last place... If you want to meet residents in: house, apartment or motorhome, there is a meeting every Wednesday at three o'clock at the beach service with red chairs. Right where it starts from your direction. We powerwalked on the ploughed track on the beach, jogging as far east as possible. Bused to touristy Nerja and Malaga's old town, great! Now we are in La Manga ...

Anonymous, ok thanks for the tips! Then we may have to take and look there on Wednesday then!

Znogge, sun and warmth we enjoy every chance we get!
🙂
JoY, it's nice to be close to the sea!
Deciree, it was a bit fun to play with the hairstyles now, and feels easy to dare when you don't have a job to go to!
Inga M, it's a bit like Swedish summer now. Hot during the day in the sun (if it doesn't rain of course) and a bit chilly in the evenings.
