Are you looking for a luxury sun holiday without breaking the bank? Online travel agency eBeach.se has looked at hotel and flight prices for 2015 to see which destinations are the most affordable. The survey shows that you can find flights and hotels for a week for between around £2,250 and £4,000.
Most affordable for flights and 4- or 5-star hotels
- Spain - Costa Brava, Tenerife
- Greece - Crete
- Turkey - Bodrum, Antalya
- Egypt - Hurghada
Most affordable for flights and All Inclusive hotels
- Spain - Costa Brava
- Greece - Rhodes, Corfu
- Turkey - Bodrum
- Egypt - Hurghada
Have you visited any of the destinations, and if so, is it a destination you would recommend? We visited Hurghada in Egypt 2005. We weren't overly keen on the destination because the sales people were so pushy, but there were many interesting excursions to make - to the Valley of the Kings and into the desert for example!

BP says:
Tenerife - yes.
Antalya - absolutely!
Rhodes - yes.
We skipped Hurghada after "warnings" from friends who have been there. Oh now Egypt is not a country I would go to voluntarily if you say so.
I have only heard positive things about Bodrum.

Hurghada is the only one of these places I have been to. I love Egypt and the Middle East in general, however, Hurghada is not my favourite place in Egypt, I like Sharm el Sheikh, but there are no charters there anymore. But I am a bit biased as I am half Egyptian and I have lived in Sharm for six months a few years ago.

Rolle and Carina, nice to get the motorhome home!
🙂
BP, oh you really had experience to share! Thank you!
Alexandra, remember that many people went to Sharm el Sheik before, but we have not been there unfortunately.

Well, I say about most of the destinations here. I've visited several and I can imagine Tenerife again in late autumn or winter.
I liked Rhodes about 40 years ago, but today I would choose a completely different island that is not so touristy.
I can also imagine Corfu, maybe. Was there last time 20 years ago.
However, you can find other, perhaps more fun belts for about the same price if you look and the schools are not authorised.
And cheap is not the same as nice or affordable.

I haven't visited all these destinations, but I can definitely recommend Crete and Tenerife.

Ditte, I can understand your reasoning. These are destinations where there are cheap flights and then it easily becomes touristy! Those who have the opportunity to travel outside the holidays can certainly find cheap trips to other destinations as well.
Steve, thank you for sharing your experience! I would definitely consider visiting Crete!

Great tips! Have always wondered which search engine for charter holidays is the best? Which one do you recommend?

Bargain of the Day, I don't dare to answer that. We almost always search on several search engines and compare. If we travel in Europe, we often also look directly at low-cost flights such as RyanAir to see which destinations they have (but it is not charter but only flights then...).
