Every Tuesday evening Norwegians and Swedes meet in Benidorm at the El Raco campsite, at the campsite's restaurant. We live on the neighbouring campsite, but were invited by Kjell and Solveig who have the blog Kjell and Solveig's motorhome blog (http://fahlen.info/). The whole three long tables were laid out in the restaurant and it was a nice dinner.
Many Scandinavians hibernate
As you now understand, many Scandinavians with motorhomes spend the winter here, especially at El Raco campsite in Benidorm. Life as a campervan wintering in Benidorm can also be followed at Bosses and Gerd's motorhome blog and the blog Our motorhome life, written by Anders and Birgitta.
Camping Arena Blanca in Benidorm
We are standing at a campsite just next to El Raco, which is called Arena Blanca. From here it is walking distance down to the town and the beach and with ACSI discount we pay 16 euro/day including free WiFi.

Ditte says:
Wow, there were a lot of people fleeing the Swedish autumn and winter. Definitely a good choice.
I had no idea that there were so many Swedes and Norwegians who headed to Benidorm. But if you find a good place, it is quite natural that more people will follow.
You seemed to have a good time!

I didn't realise there were so many Swedes in Benidorm. The last time we were there we did not hear a Swedish word for four weeks.
Looking at the picture, I can only conclude that
1. Peter seems cold
2. You are pure youth compared to the rest of the Swedes;-)

Ama de casa, yes a whole bunch!
Ditte, the charter tourists are mostly English (there is no Swedish charter here), but on the campsites there are Norwegians!
Deciree, it's nice to meet Swedish winter travellers!
🙂
Lena in Wales, guess Benidorm has changed over the years...!?
BP, there are mostly English people here, but on the campsites there are quite a few Swedes and Norwegians spending the winter. But they are probably not as loud in town as the English...
1) Haha, we are not as hardened as other campers!
2) Winters are usually retired people, as few people of working age have the opportunity to spend five months on a campsite in Spain...
