Naturist campsite in Corsica, at Aléria on the east coast. The campsite is on a huge area and the motorhomes, caravans and tents are scattered here and there on the beaches and in the forest. It doesn't really feel like being on a campsite, but rather in a huge natural area. We have positioned ourselves so we have the Mediterranean Sea through the window in front of us - not a bad view! Join us at a naturist campsite in Corsica!
Naturist camping in Corsica
We are now camping Riva Bellawhich is a naturist campsite in Corsica. This campsite is huge and feels more like a natural area than a campsite. There are no excellent pitches, and most of the time you'll be wandering around on beaches or open fields. However, the campsite has a restaurant and a SPA. We haven't tried either, as we mostly live a budget life during our 1 year long motorhome trip. Today we have not made many knots, but just sunbathed and had a good time.
"I didn't dare drive further ahead with the car, but five metres from the sea on a sandy beach can't be complained about," says Peter, smiling. "The campsite is so big that we don't even see other naked people and that feels good. We're not ones to run around naked, but sunbathing naked and being around your motorhome is cosy.
Naturist vamping with llamas
If you're interested in naturist camping, the east coast of Corsica is the place to be. There are of course more nude beaches in France, but no more campsites. At Riva Bella there are kilometres of beaches for all naturists overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with fine-grained beaches.
In 2015, the family campsite celebrated its 50th anniversary on an island with Lake Terrezana just outside. There are also hotels and large nature reserves, of which Corsica has plenty. Keep in mind that 60 per cent is protected from development. From the naturist beach, you can see the islands of Pianosa, Elba and Monte Cristo Island, which inspired Alexandre Dumas for his novel and from which many films have been made.
The campsite also has a large enclosure with llamas. Of course they wanted to be photographed! The plan for us right now is to stay here for a few days and then drive around the island, in a counter-clockwise direction. We have read a bit about beautiful beaches, searched for pitches (find very few?) and campsites with ACSI discount (as they always cost max 18 euro/day incl. electricity). If you have been here and have any tips, please let us know!

There was no price for that ferry ticket (Helsinki - Tallinn we paid 3500 SEK).
Looks so nice to be able to stand so close to the beach. Will be interesting to read further.

Nils-Åke, no we think the price was quite ok. Ferries are usually expensive! The price varied a lot between different departures (some were even cheaper) but it was a bit difficult to understand how and why.
Anita, the place is fantastic! We were so tired yesterday, but we are really starting to appreciate it now! We rarely eat out for financial reasons, but we are interested in food so we should be able to report back! 🙂
Anja, oh thank you! How nice! I will check that link immediately! 🙂

I have previously googled Corsica quite a lot. I felt that it was a very hilly landscape with lots of mountains, or am I remembering wrong? You seem to have a good time. Have a good time

Matts, you are probably right! We are on the east coast, the flattest part, we will get to the more hilly areas too!

Such a wonderful site - you can fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves - almost like being in the Pampas, but much warmer and nicer.
Now I have even googled Aléria and with a pair of binoculars you should be able to see Rome from the other side;-)
Keep enjoying yourself to the fullest!

Try as much as possible to stay in campsites. Young Corsicans often throw stones at windscreens because motorhomes are not popular in Corsica. According to information on the internet, there are 49 pitches available. The link is in French but you'll get the hang of it. http://aires.camping-car.com/aires/recherche/corse,35

Anna Stouvenel, thank you for your comment! Wow, that was the worst! We free port quite rarely, but we did it on the west coast of France. Rock throwing does not sound fun... Thanks for the link!
