What a wonderful paradise beach in Corsica! We have found a fabulous beach in Corsica, one of those beaches you see in photos. The west coast of Corsica between Propiano and Ajaccio. The cliffs protrude into the sea, and the bays contain magically beautiful sandy beaches. Come to Plage de Cupabia, a paradise beach in Corsica.

Cupabia Beach
"Why don't we try to get the campervan down to one of those little beaches?" Sometimes you don't know how to find your way down from the mountains, but eventually we found a narrow little road with a sign pointing to "Plage de Cupabia".
The beach is located in the bay between Capu Neru and Punta di Porto Pollo. A small road leads down from the D155 to the D155A for three kilometres, signposted to Plage de Cupabia and the campsite, which also has cabins. This is a natural beach located in the Golfe de Valinco and you will think you are in the Caribbean.
Camping at Plage de Cupabia
We were greeted by a fabulous sandy beach... and a small campsite! And here we are now. The campsite consists of a meadow with wild flowers, surrounded by small palm trees. Most campers have a car and a small tent, and maybe a kayak on the roof. Others have small vans with folding roofs. And yes, there are some regular motorhomes too, but we are in the minority.
Paradise beach in Corsica
This is a paradise beach in Corsica. The water is crystal clear and shimmers in greenish blue. We are not alone on the beach, but it is far from being crowded.
Romantic picnic on the beach
We had a picnic on the beach one evening here in Corsica. Seriously, could it get any better? I don't consider myself a romantic, but here in Corsica it's hard to resist. The sand on the beaches is too fine, the water too turquoise, the air too balmy... what can you do?
We fried some prawns in sambal oelek and wrapped some melon pieces in air-dried ham. And then we packed a few things from the camper van: bread and cheese, salami, olives, salty crackers, St Agur mould cheese, aioli... and Corsican rosé wine of course! Then we spread our bath towels on the sand and ate dinner as the sun slowly sank to the horizon. Honestly, it's not possible to not think it's romantic!
This is where we want to stay
Here we can walk barefoot directly from the car to the sandy beach. The sand is soft and the beach is surrounded by rocks in strange formations. We are not alone on the beach. There are other people sunbathing or swimming. But still ... No shops, no vendors, no sunbeds, no children playing on the beach, just a small restaurant. It feels like we want to stay here forever!

How lovely it looks. One can imagine that it would be risky to drive out so far. Risk of getting stuck in the sand.

Maybe a bit lonely and deserted in the long run, but the place looks pleasant to be in. And the sun seems to be with you.

BP says:
You have come to a paradise, for sure! Much better and nicer than being crowded in a big city. Big cities are everywhere and line each other - paradise is a bit more rare, so to speak.

Mr Steve says:
What's a big city compared to this camping gem? Definitely the right choice.
In my last comment I wrote that I was running out of words. Now they are gone so I will repeat some that I used earlier during your trip. Stunningly beautiful! Fantastic! Magical!

I don't know if a city with about 66,000 inhabitants (Ajaccio) can be called a big city.

Ulla Widing, 10 degrees sounds cold... And yes, it is fantastic here!
Nils-Åke, the ground on the campsite itself is hard so there is no problem!
Lars Permelin, so far it just feels nice and calm. But as soon as we get tired, of course, we roll on! 🙂
BP, it feels like that! Unbelievably beautiful!
JoY, 0 degrees centigrade, is that true?? Huh!!!
Casa Annika, the water in Corsica is crystal clear and turquoise. Agree, it feels unreal that it is real! Of course there will be more pictures! 🙂
Steve, sometimes we go into cities, but really this is what we are looking for the most!
Ruth in Virginia, absolutely true! We are starting to get some strange perspectives, haha. Anyway, our car is difficult to park and there were huge traffic jams to Ajaccio, so Peter didn't want to drive there.

What a paradise!

Anette says:
Agree with everyone else, such a paradise is probably better than a city with people, restaurants, historic buildings, knick-knacks and well-stocked shops! No, your car park will be on my mind now for three weeks, then, then we will also find paradise! ☀️??

Oh! That campsite is absolutely fantastic! Like the small "unorganised" variants where you can pitch the tent (or for that matter put your motorhome... 😉 ) a little wherever you want 🙂 Incredibly beautiful too!

Maggan and Ingemar says:
Well now we get a little jealous of you. 🙂
We don't like big cities always difficult to drive in them, luckily you have a good driver.
We prefer the more quiet and secluded places. Corsica seems interesting both in terms of nature and beaches.
Enjoy and have fun here at home, we are expecting sun and warmth at the end of the week.

Wow! Understand you!!!

Åsa, indeed! 🙂
Anette, lovely, hope you find your paradise too! Where are you going?
Ama de casa, we also like these kinds of campsites where it's a bit relaxed and unorganised! 🙂
Maggan and Ingemar, big cities are a bit difficult with a motorhome. Nevertheless, there have been several for our part, which we wanted to take the opportunity to see. But we prefer to stay in nature, at beaches or in small villages 🙂.

How wonderful! This is a dream and cosy to avoid the big campsites, although I understand that the comfort there can be greater. But the experience here had to be outstanding.
