Today we have moved to a beach and campsite at Porto-Vecchio on the south-eastern side of Corsica. The beach is called Plage de Palombaggia and is located just south of Porto-Vecchio. We have read that this is one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica.
We agree that it is a very nice beach, but it doesn't beat our favourite beaches in Corsica, Saleccia Beach on the north side and Cupabia Beach on the western side.
Palombaggia Beach
Corsica is really spoilt with beautiful beaches. We don't find the water here to be as magically turquoise as it was on the western side, but even if we don't think this is the best beach in the world. all the most beautiful beach, it's fantastic!
This is a popular beach with fine white sand and several small charming beach restaurants. There are plenty of hotels and cottages to rent here and if you want a dream holiday with the best beaches in Europe.

RV park at Porto-Vecchio
Another plus is that there is a caravan park right next door - in fact the first real caravan park we've found in Corsica! As soon as we drove up, a girl rushed out of the small reception house and waved us in while apologising (in German) for her bad German (even though we don't speak a word of German...).
Anyway, the girl was very service-minded and almost followed us halfway to the beach to show us. Here it only costs 13.50 euros / day to stand (without electricity) and WiFi is included in the price. WiFi is admittedly only available on a specific small spot among the trees, but we have of course sniffed out and stood on that spot!

Steve, when it comes to WiFi, we tend to be a bit picky... We walk around with an iPhone and check where the coverage is best before we park 😉.

You will find one grain of gold after another. Speaking of wifi, what's new for us at our campsite is that the fee includes two users (we have four but we turn off two and don't use them all at the same time) We have a strong transmitter ten metres from us. Cost 20 € per week for two users. We think this is quite ok when it really works in practice. Take care.

admin says:
Matts, good with multiple users and strong transmitter. We often find that there are good offers for a week. However, it is a little more difficult when you only want to stay 1-3 nights, then it is usually expensive in comparison.

So the nature with the mountains in the foreground of the picture is fantastic - reminiscent of Albufeira a little bit, I think. But the beach is tiny.
Good to stand on the wifi spot right away - then you know who is a regular camper;-)

Rolle and Carina, there are many nice places here in Corsica! 🙂
BP, the beach continues to the far side of the picture. After each small rocky area there is a new small beach.... Haha, yes we are above all accustomed travel bloggers with leta-wifi-nose 😉.
Helena, motorhomes are great! You are free to travel around as you like, and at the campsites you are close to nature. Small motorhomes are common here. I'll show you some one day!

I have been in these areas, we rented a small apartment just outside in Porto Veccio and it was then quite calm and quiet. I also remember nice beach restaurants with good seafood.
But compared to the other beaches you've visited, this one might not win the first prize. But I hear there's good snorkelling in the area...
And you have found a nice and cheap place. That's good too!

Thanks for the great tip that before deciding on a location, if possible, go around first and check for the best wi-fi. Strange that nowadays it is not enough to just look for something like flat ground and nice views.

admin says:
Lars, haha yes maybe it is strange... We are dependent on wifi so yes, I always open my iPhone and check that we choose a place with good coverage! 😉
