Now we have made it to Porto Pino, and a campsite in southern Sardinia outside St Anna Arresi. After a lot of free camping, we had a great need for services (garbage collection, possibility to fill and empty tanks and so on) but during high season or almost high season you have to be careful not to end up at campsites with completely hysterical prices. Camping Sardegna in Porto Pino had no website - which I thought seemed promising from a price point of view.
Sardegna - camping in southern Sardinia
My thought that the campsite could be affordable was correct. At camping Sardegna in Porto Pino it currently costs 20 euro/day including electricity. WiFi costs 1 euro/unit, which is a one-off cost! The campsite is small, simple and not super fresh, but it has everything we need and we have received excellent treatment.
There are several fine sandy beaches right next to the campsite. There are a lot of people on the beaches, but we don't see any large hotels that spoil the view of the mountains. Most people seem to come by car to the large car parks.
"It´s always the woman"
Curiosity: When the owner helped us find a spot on the campsite, it was Peter who came along and made sure the spot was good. When I checked in he said to me "In Italy the woman always choses the place! I don't know about your country - in Italy it's always the woman!".
Beaches at camping Sardegna
The campsite is right next to a long row of beaches. These are perhaps not the finest beaches we have experienced in Sardinia, but they are good enough! The sand is fine-grained and now in the heat the beaches are full of colourful parasols. Even the dogs have their own beach here by the way.

Yes, the role of women and men is undeniably different in the countries of the world.
Enjoy the unobstructed view of the mountains.

BP says:
Hahaha! Then the campsite owner got a liiiiittle culture clash;-) Since the men in Italy decide the rest of the year, it is only fair that the women get to choose something once a year - kind of;-)
I hope you will enjoy the place.

I agree with you about highrise hotels. They ruin the most beautiful ones
So beautiful with the mountains on the horizon. Nice with a little´
forest behind the sand!
How clever to have a dedicated beach for dogs and dog owners.
Haven't heard of anything similar here.

Matt, when are you planning to retire?
Rolle and Carina, of course we do. Take care!
Steve, that's right! Maybe a little less definite roles in Sweden sometimes?
BP, haha maybe it is? I do not know exactly how it works in Italy, but that choosing a campsite would be so typically female was completely unexpected for me! 😉
Ruth in Virginia, right? The most beautiful beach becomes less beautiful with all the high-rise hotels. We often avoid them here, and I like that!

There was some difference in the beach, from the one you came from where you were alone. How cool that you had flamingos so close to you. It's all about finding the goodies and enjoying it, which you did well.

Clearly affordable there at the campsite! We went over to Elba once without checking the situation before... Then it was impossible to get away from the outrageous prices. I think it would have been cheaper with a hotel...

Ama de casa, in high season you have to watch out! Some campsites are just as expensive, but there are many times cheaper alternatives!

Marina, haha yes you can see it! 😉 some things I would not even reflect on as male/female, but... apparently! 😉
Elisabeth, of course it is! And yes the beaches are different, this one is a bit more typical! 😉
