The day before yesterday we left Bosa and started driving south along the west coast of Sardinia. Today we have reached the small village of Portixeddu, just north of Buggerru. The roads are winding - sometimes along the coast and sometimes high up in the mountains. We have driven past fields, beaches, high mountains and industrial areas, and sometimes straight through small charming villages (where the motorhome barely fits on the roads).
Starting in Bosa
We started the trip in Bosa, on the fine motorhome campsite by the water where we had been standing for several days. It was almost hard to leave, but the adventure continues!
Dinner with local ingredients
After our little excursion to the village of Scano di Montiferro we came home with fresh and local produce in Sardinia. From our new friends' farm we brought zucchini, lettuce and spinach, and from the butcher we brought fresh salsiccia (Italian sausage).
Three times a week, pigs are delivered from local farmers to the butcher - who then cuts and makes sausages. Isn't that how things should be done everywhere? Oh, how we'd love to be able to ever buy pork or sausages in a Swedish supermarket again. And what about the flavour? Well, there is no comparison! This is how meat and vegetables should taste!
RV park south of Oristano
Yesterday we stayed at a small campsite on a beach south of Oristano. Five euros/day including water and facilities for emptying tanks can be considered a bargain, even if the beach was a bit dull (endlessly long with no beautiful background to rest your eyes on - we know we're getting spoilt!)
Today we have arrived at an even more beautiful beach at a charming little village. The plan is to fricamp here tonight before continuing our journey south.

Yes, you can be spoilt and we can be jealous. I think TV 5 should follow you instead of Ullared. The worst thing is in 5 months. Does the fun end for us sitting at home in Sweden & following your fantastic journey. We hope that our motorhomes meet at some point so we can offer something gone. Thank you once again for a fantastic adventure.

Sardinia seems to be very nice but I understand that you are spoilt with beaches, considering all the fantastic pictures of beaches you have shared.

One can trust that you update as often as usual, otherwise it's a bit dead on the blog front now, I think, both with updates and readers. Do you notice it too?
I probably wouldn't have gotten so many posts out now during the summer if it wasn't for the fact that I can't be on the beach, but as it is, I write a lot even though it seems to be low season on the blog front.

You get to see and experience a lot during the trip and certainly the beaches and amenities vary. But you seem to have a good time where you are and at a "bargain price". The beach in Portixeddu looks quite ok and the water is so clear. Certainly nice to snorkel. feel that I miss it very much. And beautiful beaches, to be able to be there a few hours a day. Miss I can not do much about it.
Enjoying your photos.

One should have higher standards when travelling like you;-) Oh it must have been really crowded for Freedom on these minigators. Recessed side games I guess;-)
I wonder what these balls are. Sea urchin cones can hardly be;-) But they have an even round/oval shape. Coconuts - no, I'm just kidding;-)

I enjoy with you who almost always have a "beautiful background to rest your eyes on".

Roland, how nice that you are following our journey! Shout if you are in the vicinity of us sometime - it would be nice to see you! 🙂
Criss-cross, yes we are spoilt for beaches! We like the smaller ones that are surrounded by mountains. Slow beaches are a bit more boring, now that you have the luxury of choice 😉.
Åsa, I can understand a little what you mean. When it is summer weather in Sweden - then we get a little less readers, it feels like 😉 Maybe there is a little less blogging too - and above all, it seems that just about everyone is in Greece right now!
Ditte, I really understand that you miss being in the sun - and we're blogging a lot about sun and beaches right now... At the same time, we often look for shade, because it's a bit unnecessarily hot right now... 😉
BP, I didn't take photos at the height of the crisis in the alleys, because that's when full concentration was needed 😉 We also wonder what those balls are made of - it looks like some kind of plant material that has been compressed into balls by the sea...
Steve, we are a bit spoilt right now... 😉.
Elisabet, isn't it hard to find time for everything you want in life? Nice to hear that we inspire!

I am especially fond of narrow alleys with beautifully painted facades and decorations. Lovely picture the first one.

Have also seen "beach balls" and wondered. Why don't you try to find out for all of us who are wondering...?

Five euros a night??? That doesn't sound like Italy... 😉.
It looks great, but your parenthesis gave me a bit of a headache: "where the motorhome barely fits on the roads"... 😉.
Have a great time!

As I said, too bad Sardinia is in Italy, but who knows, I might swallow my prejudices against the Italian people, their products, their way of communicating and lack of internet. You keep tempting me with so many beautiful things. Have a good time

Oh Sardinia is now very high on my list! Was at their press conference in Stockholm earlier this year and opened my eyes to the island there. And by following your trip, it starts to feel like a real must 🙂 .

Lars Permelin, there are many such charming villages here in Sardinia!
Solan, I'll see if I can figure it out - I'm wondering and curious myself! 😉
Ama de casa, the nicer campsites are quite expensive but there are plenty of simple pitches here in Sardinia! Yes, a few times it has been crowded and we have had to fold in the rear view mirrors and "sneak" slowly... 😉.
Scottish Moments, time flies when you're having fun! 😉
Matts T, internet access has actually improved! (Or is it better in Sardinia?) We thought it was bad when we were in Italy a few years ago, but now there is wifi in many places where we stay! The Italians are not as nice as the French (we think) but they have not been unpleasant in any way either...
Fantasy travel, glad we inspire! This is a beautiful island! 🙂
