Today we drove across Sardinia, from Cala Gonone in the east to a campsite in Porto Torres in the north-west. The plan is to follow the west coast southwards from here. When we left Cala Gonone we saw a lot of really mighty mountains. Since then the road has been flatter and less exciting.
Roads in Sardinia
In Corsica, the roads are narrow and sometimes poor, but you're always travelling through stunning and unspoilt scenery. Here in Sardinia, the roads are two-lane and considerably wider, but the quality of the roads is much better. deplorable. And somehow it's harder to overlook all the bumps and potholes when you're expected to drive fast and don't have a lot of wonderful scenery to look at ...
Porto Torres
Now we have arrived in Porto Torres in the north-west and checked into a campsite called Camping Golfo dell'Asinara. We are sharing the campsite (which we think is huge) with a bunch of noisy campers, but we have found peace anyway. As soon as Peter stops, the tablet comes out! Then he made spaghetti with prawns and two kinds of mussels. Better than yesterday's restaurant dinner actually!

Peter continues to celebrate you, I see.

Mmmmmmhhhh - starting to see a trend for Corsica 5 plus, Sardinia 3 1/2 plus or something like that;-)
Oh, Helena. Peter has not made spaghetti but linguine. Oh that dish (without shrimp, however, as I can not tolerate them) I could DIE FOR right now: -)
I am happy to help with the wine as well as the olives. You eat about what I would call our favon:-)

So cosy. Great that you are still doing well. Lovely to follow you as usual. I have also fallen in love with my tablet again after the holidays. Super good to blog on, for example.

Steve, now that I think about it, he probably does that quite often....
BP, well maybe something like that... but we haven't seen all of Sardinia yet, so we'll be back! And yes you are right, it is linguine! 😉
Katarina, our tablets are actually "just" tablets, meaning you can only read books on them, nothing else. For blogging we have laptops and iPhones... 😉.

Good, good, good! And many times you cook better food than what some restaurants serve, especially when the high season approaches and guests come to the restaurants anyway. Nice to celebrate for several days. I know someone who has a whole birthday month....
Beautiful scenery, but it's sad that the driver doesn't have time to look.
Nice to have a quiet place for you and it looks nice.

Just as it should be when you are travelling! Lots of reading and a man who cooks good dinners! (The description of Peter's reading fits exactly with how it is when we are travelling too 🙂 ....)

Ama de casa, I agree. This is luxury! 🙂
Ditte, it's certainly much better at home! But sometimes it's nice to go out anyway! The nature is beautiful to drive through, but not quite as fascinating as in Corsica, we think.
Anja, can only agree! Reading and good food are important ingredients for us too!:)
