Today we can tell you about a wonderful boat trip in the Croatian archipelago. Croatia's archipelago is magically beautiful, and what's the best way to experience it? By boat of course! It's fantastic to travel along the coast of Brac and see high mountains, Zlatni Rat, green nature and occasional houses and vineyards and olive groves. Eventually we stopped at our own bay and beach.
Boat trip in the Croatian archipelago
There are of course lots of boats and boat hire companies all over the Croatian archipelago. Some boats require a licence and others do not. At the moment, however, the low season is turning into the right low season and we see every day how the boats are lifted on land. We hired a boat in the village sphere, located on the southern side of the island Brac.
The small rental company in the centre of Bol could only offer us one boat to "choose" from. It was a little slow thing with 5 horsepower and Peter may have looked a little disappointed, but honestly it didn't matter that we had to putter slowly along the coast. It's great just to be out on the water in this fantastic weather! The price for one day rental incl. petrol was (in low season) 650 SEK.
A day on the water - and on your own beach
Already at nine in the morning, the weather was fantastic (22 degrees and bright sunshine) and we set off along the coast of Brac. Great to see everything from a different perspective! The island is full of high mountains, green nature, isolated houses and vineyards and olive groves.
Finally we found "our" beach - a small lonely bay where we could lie all day and have a good time. We didn't see a single person or boat during the day. There was sun, reading and a lunch of pasta salad with salmon and a beer. An absolutely fantastic day! Do you usually rent a boat or go on boat trips when you are on holiday?

Another post with lovely pictures. Now the boat was not made for water skiing directly, but as a sightseeing boat it was absolutely perfect!
I can only conclude that you and I have the same favourite colour;-)

Good choice of boat! Hehe! We haven't been out on a boat since we moved down, but Sverker won a dolphin watching trip by boat on a dartboard recently, so maybe we'll do it some sunny day... By the way, we saw dolphins from our balcony the other day, or where else could they have been jumping around in the sea beyond the hills?

BP, haha no there was no water skiing! 😉 I bought the bikini here at the autumn sale - yep, also like that colour!
Lennart, it was a very nice day!
Rolle and Carina, always great to get out on the sea! 🙂
Matts, yes we take the opportunity to enjoy now! Soon we will have to go north towards the cold and work 😉.
Åsa, oh how cool to see dolphins! Yes, if there are dolphin watching tours, there will be dolphins! Sounds like a cosy trip. Hope there will be weather for it soon!
Steve, in October it's easy to find your own beaches, especially if you go a little way by boat! 😉

Ama de casa says:
Looked fantastically nice! The fact that the boat is moving slowly is only an advantage, I think 🙂.
We have a ski and boat gang. Together we ski one week a year, and five times we have rented a canal boat in France and once we have sailed for a week in the Greek islands. We've talked about renting a sailboat in Croatia as well, but that requires a radio licence (I think it is) that someone (not me!) has to take. It also requires two licences (skipper's exam?) which two have (I'm not one of them - my task is jump-in(b)land-Johanne). Let's see if it happens sometime - would be great!
When we are out alone, we like to go on various boat trips, but then others have to drive. Those who sell the tours, that is 🙂

Oh how wonderful to rent a boat and go away. The boat looks nice too, and GOOD price!!!
How nice it must be to have an off-season.
You also got your own beach. SO wonderful! Very nice and lovely pictures!

Ama de casa, canal boat sounds great! We have actually also talked about renting a sailboat in Croatia, but together with friends who have a ship exam in that case. I have no idea about the radio certificate? But I do not know if it will happen anyway, we have so many things on our wish list 😉.
Annika, it's great to have an off-season! We think it's just warm enough and no congestion anywhere! I will never choose August in Europe again unless I have to, haha 😉.

To rent a boat is really nice and we do it when the opportunity arises. Your boat trip was so delicious, understand that you had a great day. Lovely pictures! Maybe lucky that the boat did not go faster so that you had time to read the charts as well. It can be tricky at high speed. We have sailed in Croatia, Turkey, France and Greece and we have liked it. But a motor boat is also great.
Nice with the loan season and going out to Europe in August is something you don't do voluntarily. Not in my opinion. This time is absolutely perfect.
Keep up the good work! Thanks for the luck! Appreciated!

Ditte, I agree that you should avoid August. Europe is absolutely the best in the low season!
Marianne, we have done it from time to time. Very cosy! You can rent these small boats without a skipper's licence 😉.
