We stayed one day with our friends in north-west Skåne and got to see both Ängelholm and Båstad. Today we are going to drive up towards Stockholm. And what have we woken up to? Winter landscape with lots of snow...
Christmas market in Ängelholm
Yesterday we went to the Christmas market in the local community park in Ängelholm. It was of course significantly less than the Christmas markets in Nuremberg and Lübeckbut on the other hand it had opened!
They sold Danish cheeses, Scanian sausages, herring, honey and liquorice straws. 'Drinking hill climbs' were organised and children could ride in a wagon after fiery Siberian Husky dogs. But I was most fascinated by the signs at the canary cages. And then we went to the waffle house and got waffles with jam and cream - not bad!
Concert in Båstad
After the visit to the Ängelholm Christmas market, we travelled to Båstad. We've actually never been to Båstad before, although it's a very popular place in the summer, so it was interesting to come here! We walked on the nice sandy beach, saw people going out to the house on the pier in their dressing gowns (sauna?) and documented Peppes Bodega, where we guess it's open all summer long.
Then we met up with Anders and Anita's nice friends and went together to a concert with the Båstad Bjäre music band, which played film music. So a nice day in Skåne! Now we just have to see how we will manage to get out of here in the snow ...

I'm glad you made it this far on your journey home, so you didn't meet this already in Germany or something..... 😉

Ow, ow, ow... Drive very carefully!
All right, then. Not spaghetti, fingers or cigarettes for the birds. But then there are LOTS of other things to feed them anyway 😀.

Matts Torebring says:
Welcome home again, but take it easy. I would probably not drive on with summer tyres, but stay a while longer.

Snow in Skåne, but in Stockholm it is currently snow-free and with us -3. Brilliant sunshine!
Nice with Skåne and Båstad! Have had the pleasure of being there in the summer, before the holiday rush. But bathing right now feels cold.
A nice little Christmas market that was also open. And there were also clear rules about what applied. Good for safety when it comes to animals. Yes, people too.
Wishing you a pleasant journey north. Welcome !

It was nice that you got to end the European tour with something proper in my home region.
Let's hope you make it home - there are tyres available in Skåne.
But drive carefully

Mr Steve says:
It's a content-rich Skåne adventure.
I was just watching the TV news about the traffic chaos in Skåne and thought of you. I hope you can leave Skåne behind without any difficulties.

Åsa, we will!
I can only agree! Apparently there is snow in Bavaria now, so we were lucky there!
Steve, we have reached the E4 motorway now and the road is fine here. At least right now. We will see how it will be later.
Matts, thank you! Peter thought it would be worse tomorrow and we need to get up to Stockholm so we drove today anyway. The E4 is fine right now, but we'll see what happens later.
Ditte, thanks for the weather report! Yes, I can imagine that Båstad is nice in the summer and you always get a little more peace and quiet if you come before the holiday rush! 😉
Staffan, thank you so much! 🙂 Sounds wonderful with escape from the snow and cold! We are driving on the E4 right now, so far quite ok.
Nils-Åke, yes it was Skåne ending! 🙂 We try to get up with summer tyres, but take it very slowly and carefully!

It was a rich Skåne adventure, my comment would of course say. Sloppy I may say to myself.

Staffan says:
Yes, welcome to our city and great that you got to see so much! We have fled the snow and the cold! Now sitting on a lovely pitch near Vera!
Wait to go home until the snow has disappeared and beware of driving early in the morning when it can be slippery!
Fingers crossed for you!??

Frankie & Co says:
The E4 at our latitudes is snow-free with sunshine and zero degrees - but drive safely anyway!
We are about to go to winter storage with our motorhome and are so pleased we didn't have any snowfall.

Frankie & Co, we have driven past the snow now and come to bare ground. Great! Glad you didn't have snow too!
BP, oh it's Sunday today! Yes, I should definitely have been on Sign Sunday! Didn't think about it in the middle of everything... Thanks for the weather report!

BP says:
Don't know why I prefer your pictures from the beaches... Must be the white mass there;-)
The signs are absolutely lovely and would have been perfect for Sign Sunday, so to speak;-)
If you dare to drive Freedom up to Stockholm, I can at least tell you that it is glorious sunshine and no snow (yet) here. Drive carefully!

Drive carefully! Although now you may already be home-home... Looks like a real winter camping picture with Freedom in the snow... 🙂 ...

admin says:
Active Days-Camilla, yes or not? We have camped with Freedom a few times in snow (had winter tyres before) but it is not a real winter car. It does not keep the heat so super well. But with a lot of gas, it is possible 😉.

Ugh so much snow in the south of the country!
Here only a little ground frost 🙂
I hope you got home safely.
Take care and welcome home again....

Solan, haha, like your attitude! It went well, Freedom took us to Stockholm! 🙂
Krisztina, it's really contrasts! We have a bit of a hard time getting used to the cold... 😉.
Rolle and Carina, thank you, we have arrived in Stockholm now! There was a lot of snow in the beginning around Skåne, then it became bare ground, then a thin layer of snow around Linköping again and then again bare ground around Stockholm.
