Yesterday we were at a Travel Massive event that was arranged at Teatern in the centre of the Ring in Skanstull in Stockholm. Travel Massive always offers an opportunity to meet other travel bloggers and Teatern - the south's new food scene - we have heard a lot about, so it was interesting!
What is Travel Massive?
Travel Massive is a global movement that brings together travel bloggers and people from the travel industry through free events organised all over the world. There are currently 121 local chapters in the world and yesterday it was time for an event in the Stockholm local chapter, led by Sofia from Fantasy travel, Lola from Geotraveler's niche and Annika from the blog Travel Friday.
Many travel bloggers on site
At yesterday's event, lots of people showed up - both travel bloggers we know and people we've never met before. I can't account for everyone who was there, but it was a little extra fun to meet Katta from Cat's reflections. I have been following her blog for seven years, but never met her before. Fantastic fun!
It was also nice to have a chat with Eva from People in the street, Anna from New York - My Bite of the Big Apple, Towe from Towis - A travel blog, Daniel from Traveler's edition, Lisa from Life from the bright side, Helena from Oh Darling, let's be adventurers and Johan from Australia blog. Great fun!
Many of these travel bloggers we have contact with from time to time, but meeting like this is special! We also met young couple Jacob and Frida, who are planning to travel around the world for 2.5 years by car! They are leaving just before the summer, and you can follow them at Everyday Explorers.
Theatre in the centre of the Ring in Skanstull
The new trendy food scene in the centre of Ringen is a kind of food court where several famous chefs have opened small branches and serve various small exciting dishes in an easily accessible way. You simply get your small dish in paper or a simple bowl and sit down at one of the small tables in what almost feels like a theatre stand.
I like the idea - fine food served in an "ugly" way. However, I was not very impressed with the food. Maybe I thought it was a bit for or maybe I just didn't like getting my fingers so sticky. But I can probably imagine another visit, I've heard that the ramen noodle dish here is awesome! Have you been to the Theatre in the Centre of the Ring? What do you think?

Exciting to meet like-minded people!

How nice! Thanks for the report from the "Theatre". I had planned to go, but the trip to Spain got in the way so I had to cancel.
How nice to meet both new and old "faces" and it is always rewarding with meetings of this kind.
Was here and sampled shortly after they opened and then made a post on the blog. But I took the food home. Then thought it was a bit messy to stand and eat and quite noisy. Now they have expanded with more tables and chairs and it seems more comfortable. There are always many guests here so the place seems to go "home".
I often pass by here and have tried a couple of places and I think Raamen and Nook market are good as well as the vegan place The Plant. Daniel Roos, the pastry chef's pastries are a highlight and good bread is also available.

I have been to the centre of Ringen many times, it is located on the right side of the city 😉 but now it is several years ago and then there was no trendy food scene as far as I can remember. Sounds like a fun idea and like your assessment of fine food served in "ugly ways" 🙂 .
Can believe that it was rewarding and interesting to meet other travel bloggers irl, especially those you have followed for several years. Many links and much to read here but so much fun! Around the world by car, lucky that they have the opportunity to take as long as 2.5 years. They will experience a lot 🙂
Now I was very keen to take the husband and go out into the world. Know that he does not say no and we have talked about Costa Rica. It was actually over 20 years since we were there 😉.

Yes, it was great to finally meet you for real and I hope to see you at many similar meetings in the future! Meeting other people who are really passionate about experiencing travel is probably among the very best there is... 🙂 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Lennart, funny and inspiring! 🙂
Ditte, we thought it was quite noisy and messy now too! It can probably be ok if you are only two people, but it was difficult with a meeting with many ... difficult to hear what people are saying on the other side of the table! But can probably imagine coming back to the Theatre in another context!
Anita Malta, yes the idea of the Theatre is fun and it is incredibly inspiring to meet other travel bloggers. You get inspired both to travel and to blog! 🙂 Costa Rica sounds wonderful!
Eva, great to meet you! It is incredibly inspiring to meet both other travellers and other travel bloggers. It was a bit loud in there and a bit difficult to mingle though... Hope to see you again soon! 🙂

There seem to be so many events right now. Great that you participate and report here on the blog.
I read about the Theatre, Stockholm's newest venue, on a blog. I thought it was Ditte who blogged about the place, but according to her comment she has not had time to go there.
Less is more or more is less - that's the grey. But the frame probably won't make your fingers sticky;-)
I think eggs and onions are two flavours that I would not combine...

BP, yes, I think you are actually quite right that it is at Ditte's place that you read about the Theatre! I just think she meant that she didn't go to the actual Travel Massive meeting. No, I probably won't get sticky from the ramen (it was a Vietnamese baguette, which was good, that was so horribly sticky ;)).
Aila, oh how nice of you to tell us! We have signed up now!!! Hope to see you! 🙂
Ulla & Torgny, that's right! Some food and a glass of wine and some talk about travelling and blogging, you can't go wrong 😉.

So nice to see you again! Now I really look forward to more fun - next time in Hungary. 🙂
The egg was my favourite dish! I didn't dare eat much of the others as most of them contained bread or chilli ...
