Easter can be celebrated in different ways, but the most important thing is to meet family and friends, right? The day before yesterday my mum took us to restaurant Pont in Hägernäs, where we hadn't been before, for a nice lunch. The restaurant had really good food and is nicely located by the water, so maybe it can be a tip for someone else too!
Nice waterfront setting
Restaurant Pont is located at Stora Värtan, at the end of Hägernäsviken, not far from Täby in Stockholm. The restaurant is really nice by the water, and before or after the meal it's great to take a nice beach walk. Since we had my brother's 1-year-old with us, we also noticed the nice little children's corner where there were toys and the possibility of watching films.
A delicious business lunch
At Pont you can eat lunch of the day (125 kr), a three-course business lunch (about 259 kr) or á la carte (main courses 185 - 289 kr). We took the business lunch and must say that we were very satisfied. For starters we got a perfectly cooked tuna with wasabi cream, for the main course a good fish stew with cod, salmon, mussels and shrimps and for dessert a small chocolate truffle. All very tasty! Anyone else been here?
Deer at close range in Täby
After lunch at restaurant Pont, mum invited us home for coffee and Easter cake. Nice of course, and we also had an unexpected visitor! Three deer came and lay down in the garden. Even though we moved around inside the windows, they seemed unconcerned and sometimes even closed their eyes. Do you have deer where you live?
The Shetland Wife says:
That sounds wonderfully good! Here in Shetland there are no wild animals other than weasels (on land that is), but for a while I lived like that with the deer outside the window at the breakfast table every morning, in the Gothenburg area. It's so peaceful! Here, the sheep outside the window probably give a similar soothing feeling though!

The menu sounded really yummy! Always luxurious to sit at a set table (regardless of the menu). Also sounded wonderful with a walk by the beach, longing to get out and move a little more again. Have a nice Sunday!

A: Yes, no more pickled onions. Tonight I will try a vodka martini I think!
It looks lovely! We don't see too many deer, even where there are some.

Looked both nice and good there on Pont. Have never been there, and didn't even know it existed... You learn a lot from reading blogs 🙂.
We have no deer here, but in Sollentuna they came to visit from time to time. We lived quite close to Järvafältet. But nowadays they are a bit everywhere, the deer. Some people seem to have become real city dwellers... 🙂.

Shetland woman, are there no larger animals there? I haven't thought about that. But as I said, sheep can probably be soothing to look at too 😉.
Imelda, yes, it is a luxury to be served a meal at a restaurant! Wishing you a nice Sunday too!
Julia, we never see any deer here where we live, but in the residential areas in Täby you do see them quite often....
Ama de casa, yes they can be everywhere the deer, although we have never seen any here in the marina 😉 Here we have to make do with ducks, swans and herons. In the tiny "forest" up to the subway there are squirrels and lots of wild rabbits too 😉.
Comsi Comsa, Peter photographed the deer through the window. It was indeed not many metres from the house.

Looks like a very good Easter lunch.
You really got a nice picture of the deer.
At home in Linköping, we often had deer visit the plot, here it is mostly lizards. 😉

Marina says:
Nowadays we live in the centre of the city so we don't have much wildlife here (apart from all the seagulls), but when we lived in a house we had deer in the garden all the time so I have a good control of what plants they eat and what they miss 😉.

Lena in Wales says:
I could imagine that food and what a nice environment.
We have deer where I live in Wales, but not so many that they eat all the crops.
Have a nice Easter!

Mr Steve says:
A lovely family meal is part of Easter. That business lunch makes my mouth water.
We have a deer family that I often see outside my window, but they are more sensitive to my presence and often bounce away as soon as our eyes meet. The deer in the Täby area are of course more accustomed to people being in the neighbourhood.
Keep enjoying Easter!

Here in the heat we have tried many now 🙂 .
Have fun and enjoy....Glad Easter

What a fantastic picture of the deer. With our daughter and her family in Enskede, in a densely populated residential area, a mother deer gave birth to her little cubs. Then they stayed in the garden for a couple of days.

Anette, I can understand that you have more lizards than deer in Thailand 😉.
Marina, yes, I have understood that there can be a problem with them eating plants and flowers that you want to keep ...
Lena in Wales, interesting to know that you have deer too, but of course also nice to avoid the problems with them eating flowers etc.
Steve, interesting observation of the difference, but that may well be the case. The deer in Täby are quite used to people ...
Rolle and Carina, it does not sound wrong! Wishing a continued nice Easter!
Ann-Christin Tampöld, thank you for your kind words about our blog! It's great that you work with selling motorhomes! What kind of motorhomes do you sell and where? Also wish you a continued nice Easter!
Matts, but how cute with deer fawns in the garden! Amazing that the deer chose such a place to give birth!
Nils-Åke, the deer were grateful to be photographed because they were completely still 😉 Then we can wish you a nice celebration when you get home!

The deer we have daily in the garden. Fun to follow them and see when the family expands with the small newborn kiddies. Sad is when the flowers are eaten up but we have to blame ourselves, they were probably here before the settlement.

Thanks for a great restaurant tip and the lakeside location makes it even better. The food looked very good, very much to my taste.
It's nice to meet "their people" and to be invited to Easter lunch.
As for deer, we don't have any here on the quay, but in Väsby, where we lived for a long time, there were plenty of them and they walked fearlessly in gardens and across major roads. Unfortunately, they have a lot of ticks that they leave behind. But of course they are beautiful and most beautiful in the forest, I think.
A very nice photo and Peter has really captured the moment.

Yes, then you have been on my home turf:-) We have visited the restaurant a few times during the summer, which I can highly recommend, as you can sit on the pier, check the boat traffic and watch the planes taking off / landing from / on the water. We have never eaten there though, strangely enough.
Good thing Pont exists, because there aren't many restaurants in Täby, so to speak...
On the other hand, we do have the occasional deer in our courtyard.

JoY, fantastic to see the kid! I have understood that there can be problems with them eating flowers, but they are beautiful! 🙂
Ditte, I can understand that there were plenty of deer in Upplands Väsby! I've also realised that they can carry ticks, which of course is not so fun.
Criss-cross, I can only agree 🙂 .
Petra, wishing you a happy Easter too!
BP, yes now we were on your home ground 🙂 I can understand that it is nice there in the summer. I have also understood that there are not so many restaurants in Täby. Have mostly heard about the one in Täby centre that changed its name (previously Tegelbruket or whatever it was called?) Mom has also taken us to Skänkstugan once.
Ontripdk, it was good! Wishing you a nice Easter weekend!
