Now we kick off the happy Friday with Peter every week. There is so much shit and negativity we have to take in every day and the media knows that it sells, and one negative experience requires ten positive ones for us to weigh evenly so, here we go!
How do we do it?
Small and big things we have been involved in the last week we collect on the blog so everyone can share joy and we go into the weekend with a smile. For example, someone has carried your grocery bag to your car, you have met a person you have not met for a long time, your grandchild's birthday, you have won SEK 100 on triss, you have eaten an extra good dinner, your surgery went well, yes, anything as long as it is positive and we take it with us throughout the weekend and share with others.
My contribution this Friday
We are going to the big Nolia fair in August and will promote the big Nolia by live blogging several times a day about everything that happens there for ten days. We have been struggling with an idea for a competition for the fair all spring and yesterday we received a very positive email from the Czech Republic. The Czech Tourist Board is running a competition on our blog and the prize is a weekend with flights and a four-star hotel for two people, wow! Everyone who wants can compete and we will return with more info in early August.
Now I want to hear what happened to you this week! So write anything positive you can think of and I (Peter) will respond to your comments.
Lina says:
Wow wonderful!!! Oh what a nice competition!!!! You can't miss it!
Happy Midsummer!!!

Goatfish says:
It's nice to start the day with a smile 😉.
Great idea, Peter. You really give yourself a treat :D.
Well, you already know what my positive this week was. It was the stories about the daughter and me and the subsequent good response from the public, which may lead to something good on the important issue of donation.
Have a nice and happy Midsummer! 😀

4000mil says:
Yes, but of course I follow! 🙂
The week started with a very negative experience when I flew home with SAS from Croatia on Tuesday. But instead of crying a bit and putting my hand in my pocket as usual, this time I chose to tell about it on the blog. This led to something extremely positive for me, lots of encouraging responses and also a record number of visitors to the blog.
There were, contrary to what I might have thought before, lots of people who cared!
I'm glad I had the courage and strength!

Hi Lina! Of course you should participate in the competition in August and thank you for writing. happy midsummer.
Geddfish. Hi Gerd! Wonderful that it is 2016 so it is possible to implement what you have done and what a nice feeling it must be for you to be able to help. Hugs to you both and enjoy the midsummer.
4000 miles. Hi Gunilla! There are so many wonderful people who care and how nice that you got a good response when you were very personal. Have a nice weekend and thank you for your contribution.
Hi Aila! I understand exactly what you mean. My oldest son Robin is 28 now but when he went from child to adult responsibility it was a great feeling. Happy Midsummer to you both.
Hi Eva-people in the street! Then I know what you are doing today...talking in each other's mouths, haha. You will have a lovely day regardless of the weather. Happy Midsummer.

Hello Lisa & Life from the bright side. It sounds like an idyllic midsummer in the countryside with friends, well simply with life from the bright side. Happy Midsummer and thank you for sharing.
Ama de casa! It sounds exciting and I'm glad you remembered it so you could share it here today, haha. Have a great weekend and thank you for writing.

Mr Frank Olsen says:
Very good debut Peter:-)
The competition will be exciting, and we will endeavour to take part in it.
Today we are welcoming two 12-year-old boys who will join us in the car in Lofoten for two weeks. They come alone by plane from Stavanger via Oslo. Exciting! You will probably meet them here: http://www.janneogfrank.blogspot.no
Have a nice midsummer day:-)

Mr Steve says:
"Happy Friday. I like that. We can never have too much of that.
Something positive often happens here at Getingstorp. From the past week, we should mention:
- Granddaughter Alice has been here recovering from a sore throat.
- Our cat Sigge, who fell ill with side effects from medication, is now recovering.
- we have started harvesting in the garden.
I wish you a very happy and pleasant Midsummer!

Matts Torebring says:
What a great initiative! My contribution on the positive side is the following sunshine story: I look out of the door of our camper van, at our campsite in the south of France, on Wednesday morning at 7.30am. The first thing I see is my (expensive) camera lying on the carpet under the table. I had left it outside when we went in at twenty-three in the evening. Talk about being happy to live among honest people. Happy Midsummer to all Honest & Happy fellow travellers.

Shamrock says:

Peter Bergström says:
Frank Olsen. Thank you Frank and how wonderful with Lofoten and with two little energy nuggets as well. What a wonderful trip you are doing and we are following along. Happy midsummer to the whole family.
Steve. Hi Steve and thanks for all the positivity. We should appreciate both small and big things in life but many forget that in stress and don't really think about what is important. Lovely post and I wish you a wonderful weekend.
Matts Torebring. I understand that you are very happy for a long time to come and I shudder at the mere thought of losing the camera. What a wonderful start to Midsummer's Day with a big smile. Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing.
Shamrock. Thank you for that and have a wonderful weekend.

BP says:
You are absolutely brilliant at finding "sponsors" and getting something fun out of it for yourselves. Thinking about the latest blog trips you made. Absolutely superb!
Happy Friday is a really fun idea! A positive aspect of the past week for me was, of course, to be a "football commentator" from the TV couch (sending out match results to our tips team) and to receive this appreciation:
- Thank you for your emails. It is more fun and better to read your comments than to read the sports pages of the evening newspapers.
Yes, and that Iceland advanced from the group stage.
24 June 2016 - 11:16
Snows says:
What a nice competition! I must keep an eye out for it. Nice things this week with us have been that the youngest daughter got a job and we have been and tried in the wedding dress for the oldest daughter's wedding!
Happy Midsummer 😀
24 June 2016 - 11:26
Åsa says:
I have pretty much got a job! I'm not sure how positive it is but it feels pretty fun so I hope it happens. Otherwise, it is very positive that Portugal went further in the European Football Championship! Ronaldo forever! 😉
24 June 2016 - 11:31
Peter Bergström says:
Hi BP! The dream lives on for Iceland and we are enjoying it with them and thank you BP for your kind words. Being a football commentator must be so much fun and I have probably seen 95% of the games so far. Have a wonderful weekend.
Znogge! What wonderful news about your daughters. This is exactly what we have to be happy about all the time, and really we should be toasting champagne every time something positive happens so we don't forget the fun in life.
Hi Åsa! Of course it is positive that you have found a job in your new country and it is also noticeable in your love for football as a true Portuguese, haha. Greet the whole family and have a nice weekend.

Anette Åhnbrink says:
Hi! Good debut Peter! Like the positive, even if I'm not by nature...but yesterday it was very nice to arrive in Salzburg in bright sunshine and 30 degrees! after standing in a traffic jam through Germany...happy midsummer to you! Greetings from Anette and Robert on their way to Greece, what else? But we take Croatia and Albania on the way?
24 June 2016 - 13:18
Across the board says:
Great initiative! The best of our last week is hard to find but the wonderful food and service we received at the Michelin restaurant Salinera, in Palamos stands out. A superb three course meal for just 28.50€ including a bottle of wine.

Emma, sun like sun? says:
I was so happy with the woman in the ham shop yesterday! She was so radiantly smiling and it was so contagious to both me and my son. We giggled all the way to the car.
Imagine that something so obvious and simple can do and mean so much!
24 June 2016 - 16:06
Ditte says:
What a great idea! And I really like to focus on what is good. Fun with the competition later and cool for you to go to the Nolia fair. Great reports from there.
A lot of nice things have happened here this week and they almost always do. But the Spanish midsummer celebration yesterday was fun, the pre-midsummer celebration on Wednesday with friends was very nice. And yesterday when I hurt my foot (not nice) I was so nicely helped by Spanish young people.
I wonder now if Helensa will work extra on Fridays when she has time to spare...
Wishing you a happy midsummer.

Fun for me: The flea market, where I volunteer, brought in almost $400.

we come out right on the penny at the final count.
My new bathroom is under development!

Wonderful post and initiative! You are so right: We always need more joy.
My contribution will be the joy of how nice it is to see the sons together this weekend (the two who still live at home), how they take care of each other. They are out playing computer games and enjoying the sun, bath and sea on our little midsummer holiday.

Peter Bergström says:
Anette Åhnbrink! Hello to you and what a great trip you are doing. It will be fun to follow you in Croatia and Albania and hear what you think. After many Fridays, we will probably bring out a new extra positive side of you Anette, haha.
Across the board. That sounded very good and I get a little jealous when you are in Palermo and cosy. Eating well is really one of life's best moments.
Emma, sun like sun. Thank you for sharing your lovely moment and I smile myself when I read your words. To experience the spontaneous joy that sometimes comes when you least expect it is just too wonderful. Have a nice weekend.
Hi Ditte! I hope your foot is better. I like your story about when others go in and help and you can probably live on that until next week. Helena thinks it feels fun and in the beginning she helps me to understand everything on the blog technically. continued nice weekend ditte.
Hello Ruth in Virginia. How nice to write to you and what a great day you had. Now just hold on to that feeling for a few days so you squeeze out all the good stuff. Hope you continue to have a nice weekend with a big smile.
Nils-åke Hansson. It sounds like you have had a great week and continue on that track during the weekend. Great to read.
Anna, New York. Hi Anna! To see your children doing well is a hell of a lot of happiness and to share this with others is just too wonderful. continued happy midsummer weekend.
Globebrotterlisa. Thank you for writing Lisa and how nice that you are doing so well on your trip in Sweden. Travelling is so much fun wherever it is. Have a nice weekend.

Great initiative! I love Fridays (usually too) so my contribution is that I have been to three fantastic interviews this week. Feel that it will be great with a new job in the autumn. Now I enjoy the heat in my sofa on the terrace, can not be better.

Elisabeth says:
Glad that someone has taken advantage of your competition thoughts! We have had a very positive midsummer weekend at Ragglanda with other motorhome drivers!
25 June 2016 - 17:58
Robin says:
Hello!
We all need to hear positive things as there is so much misery in the world, great initiative!
That Iceland made it further in the European Championship and then hear Iceland's commentator go completely bananas is something that is both fantastic fun and a lot of humour! If anyone has missed the Iceland-Austria clip in the final minute, it is a strong recommendation, pure joy!
Last Friday when Peter (Bergström) and I were out riding we saw an elderly man fall from his walker and hit his head on the tarmac, he didn't have the strength to catch himself so it was a pretty scary fall to the hill. We stood still at a red light so I threw myself out and ran forward while Peter drove the car, the man was bleeding from the head and looked quite dizzy....
Luckily it went well under the circumstances and there was a centre with a medical centre just across the road. Peter drove him there with the car while I went with the walker, he had difficulty walking on his own so we supported him into the centre. He said several times that "it was easy" but we saw that he was ashamed so we insisted on helping him, we all get old and we all need help sometimes regardless of age!
It's as rewarding to help someone as it is to be helped, I think he was very happy afterwards that we were there so quickly!

My week (as long-term sick leave for exhaustion) consisted of several small joys that mean a lot to me. Right now it was a big step that I managed to do a sudoku again... 🙂 In addition, I turned one year old on Midsummer Eve and it was a quiet but very nice day <3 Hope you have had a nice midsummer and what fun that you are also writing Peter!
26 June 2016 - 16:35
Peter Bergström says:
Hi Anna! I think I have many new wonderful people to get to know when I now enter the blog. Three interviews in the same week is incredibly good so I'm talking to a celebrity now, haha. Good job and of course I wish you that you get one of the jobs that I obviously want to know one Friday in the future. What weather we had on Saturday and nice week.
Hi Elisabeth! I believe you that you had a cosy time. We miss being out with our motorhome which we see as accommodation no 1 after our motorhome adventure in 2015. Enjoy the summer and we will hear from you again soon and thank you for sharing your positive experiences.
Hello my wonderful son Robin. I am enjoying working with you again, even if only for a short time. I think it feels good to be able to make an effort with an old person who needed help and be able to provide some presence and care. I hope he smiled during midsummer and thought that there are people out there who care. Love to you my son Robin.
Hi Annalena! Now it is really time to say CONGRATULATIONS and it was great that you have had a nice midsummer weekend. Keep seeing your progress as positive as you really do and keep your brain working at the right level. I want to hear more about your progress on Fridays going forward.

Last week I had a really good photo shoot in Gothenburg, for work. Everything flowed so well as one only dreams of in the planning before! And then I got to step on board a Stena Line ferry and feel a little boat craving again! 🙂

Peter Bergström says:
Hi Kate! How cool it must have been with that surprise and what joy, me like! Vansbrosimmet... are you completely crazy? What a fighter you are and how cool that you do it, respect is the word. hold on and drive hard and I'm cheering on so let me know when it's on.
Dryden - Traveller's edition. Hi Daniel! Nice that you write and of course you are proud when it goes so damn well sometimes and that is exactly what I strive for here. Happiness when it works and we will take it with us every Friday in the future. Go hard Daniel.
