Did you know that wine is produced in the Czech Republic? Just south of Brno there are lovely wine regions and really good white wine. We visited the Velke Bilovice wine region.
Wine region Velke Bilovice
The first stop was a wine growers which delivers wines to companies and individuals in the Czech Republic and it is white wines that they are good at. I think it was between 10-15 half glasses of different wines during 45 minutes, so now I started to feel in good shape. The wines were mostly sweet and dry with lots of flavour so more to drink in the evening than with food.
More wine in the Czech Republic
Into the car and we travelled a full 3 minutes to the next wine producer. Here they have invested a lot of money in new technology and there were many wines. Nicer and nicer it was with many new glasses of wine.
Helena laughed at me because when you are in that form, the smile goes up a little extra and everything is sooo good. You no longer know what you taste, but free is good, haha. Then it was time to go back to Brno for dinner and wine and I slept the whole way like a little child.
Wineries in the Czech Republic
Finally, we made a visit to one of the many vineyards in the Czech Republic. We visited the winemaker Stanislav Madl in Velké Bilovice, where we were also in 2016. We hadn't advertised our visit, but still received a warm welcome and were immediately invited to taste wines.
It is primarily white wines they are good at here and we got a whole bunch of bottles, both of a simpler variety (40 kr/bottle) and of a finer variety (60 kr/bottle). Then it was time to roll on to the next adventure!

Haha, wine tasting can be done in many different ways! You can drink up the splashes, you can knock out the last one, you can start as early as 09.30 😀 and have time for one more on Monday.
Here it seems to have gone quickly, haha, free is good and happy to go 😉 .
My positive event was little Lowe's visit here with me! He brightened up my whole Wednesday ♥ and so high summer, it is welcomed and enjoyed! Thank you, sunshine!

Always nice with wine tastings! Love good wines! Wonderful trip you have been on! Hugs

nils-åke hansson says:
What a magnificent house and 100,000 litres of wine is enough for a while. I have seen such shiny tanks in many vineyards.
Hope the wine tasted good

Åsa says:
Never been to a wine tasting, but worked at many. Remember when the exclusive rose ran out and we mixed red and white to the right colour for the last table. Then the sommelier went on about fruitiness, volume and sweetness and no one noticed our cheating. Tonight it will probably be green wine. Enjoying my first summer course today!

Jessica - The Shetland Wife says:
Wine tasting in the Czech Republic sounds wonderful! For me, the most positive thing this week was seeing the killer whales, and meeting special friends who make me happy 🙂.

Maggan and Ingemar says:
What a lovely castle. Wine tasting is exciting, there is always a bottle to take home, but you flew well and then you can not take as much as you want. 🙂 You seem to have had a nice trip .... again 🙂.
22 July 2016 - 9:43
Ditte says:
The wine tastings sound very nice and where you were the allocation seemed to be generous. I have been to quite a few wine tastings, not in the Czech Republic, and then you have more been given tasting samples and if they are to be compared, they should preferably not be swallowed. I think that's a waste....
I understand that the castle with the wine got the Swedish troops in good shape, but perhaps not for battle.
Thank you for a lovely post and it's great that you were able to rest in shape on the journey back.
Here it has been a wonderful week with sun and beautiful weather and a couple of the highlights were visits to beautiful Västerås with friends with, among other things.
mini-golf and a city tour on foot and a lovely boat trip out into the Stockholm archipelago, as well as visits to friends and an archipelago tour that showed its very best side.

4000mil says:
Haha, wine is good! (although I would never manage that many sips...)
The positive thing that happened to me today is that I "go on holiday" for the third time this summer. It is the advantage of dividing the holiday as I do, that you get to have that nice feeling in your body so many times!
This time it will be the cottage in Järnäsklubb, a visit to my parents in Gävle and last but not least Iceland.

Anna, New York - My Bite of the Big Apple says:
Haha, this was a real Happy Friday post! Of course you should go all in in the Swedes' footsteps. 🙂 It still sounds nice with a light-hearted activity in the intense programme.
My positive this week will be two things: that the sunny and warm weather has finally returned to Sweden and that I have now booked the autumn trip to my favourite city: New York. 🙂
22 July 2016 - 10:34
BP says:
Hahaha! Oh I thought in my infancy that you spit out the wine at wine tastings;-)
Compliments to incredibly nice pictures by the way. Guess you took them before the wine tasting;-)
The positive thing this week - clearly the weather. Three weeks in a row with high summer weather is really something extraordinary in Sweden. Yes, also all the outdoor lunches and that our Olympic tip with the women's national football team is ready.

åsa in åsele says:
I have never been to a wine tasting,
there are not so many opportunities for that in the hinterland of Norrland 😉 .
Maybe you should have organised a wine tasting in two days 🙂 .
We are in Strömsund Jämtland with a caravan,
a decent campsite even if it is worn out,
The best features are the temperate pool and the proximity of the 'city centre' with its many eateries.
Then Elin's grandfather & grandmother live here 🙂 .
The weather is absolutely marvellous.

Peter Bergström says:
Haha Lennart: We got the chance to try wine instead of beer and spirits, so it was a real Christmas Eve for the Swedes.
Geddfish: Hi Gerd! The Swedish summer has its quirks but now it's incredibly nice, so we're enjoying it together. Thank you for sharing your week with us.
Lina: We are so happy that we get to see other parts of countries than just the big cities because it doesn't attract us as much. Wine tasting is never wrong :).
Nils-Åke Hansson: They call it a fairytale castle in the Czech Republic and wine was a big part of everyday life in the castle. The wine was good and more producers are really investing in getting better quality when they now have to compete.
Hi Åsa: I think the green wine is good and fresh. There was a little too much flavour in the Czech wines for me, but I know that many people prefer that. We have had our own wine tastings at home with friends and bought wine in different price ranges and you get completely confused about what is expensive and what is not. Have a great week and say hello to the family.
Jessica-Shetland Wife: How cool to see killer whales! I know you enjoyed it and spending time with loved ones is always a highlight for me.
Maggan and Ingemar: Hi there! We are quite spoilt, we think, to be involved in all this that we think is so fun. We are also happy to be able to write about new places. We are slowly putting together a trip with the motorhome in the spring together with 6 Touristboards in Eastern Europe so it will be exciting. Take care of yourselves.
Hello Ditte! What a wonderful speed you have and what good moments you get every week. The Czech Republic is like Poland so you eat and drink a lot there and I also think it is a waste to pour out a good wine. Hope you have another nice week Ditte.
4000 Miles: Hi Gunilla! You sound so happy and look forward to so much and what a great feeling. Gävle and Iceland don't sound too bad, and don't forget the Fishmarket in Iceland which is one of my top 5 restaurants in the world. I'm talking about the tasting menu. Enjoy your holiday.
Anna, New York - My bit of the big apple: Hello Anna! It sounds like all is well and the Swedish summer is on your doorstep. It's time for the big city again and I understand that you are looking forward to it. It's always a joy just to book a trip, isn't it.

Mr Frank Olsen says:
You are lucky you Peter 🙂
The best of our week is as follows:
Vadsø, Hamningberg, Berlevåg, Nordkapp, Hammerfest.
And lots of reindeer 🙂
That's the end of the Norway part of our fantastic motorhome journey, which you can read about here: http://www.janneogfrank.blogspot.no
Now Russia and Eastern Europe are next.

Peter Bergström says:
BP: Haha, of course I took them before but it would be fun to see how it would be afterwards too :). Swedish summer is wonderful when it smiles and we can hope for many more weeks. It will be very fun and exciting to follow the girls' football so I have to find a bar at Stora Nolia in Piteå and cheer on. As I said ... I do not spit in the glass :).
Åsa in Åsele: It was a set programme that we were part of so we couldn't control the wine tasting ourselves, but it's also up to me how much I drink of course. You seem to be having a great time and it's nice that you share with us. Let's hope the weather stays for many more weeks.
22 July 2016 - 14:15
Peter Bergström says:
Frank Olsen: What a week you have had and what a great adventure you are having. I think your trip is absolutely incredible. I'm putting together a trip with several Tourist Boards in Eastern Europe in the spring, because we want to take the motorhome out again for an adventure. Be well and just smile.

TGIF to the max !!!! (even if it was Thursday)
The time of the Swedish Great Power was probably more like this
The age of megalomania. Little Sweden on the move!
Lovely day you had - and what a magnificent castle!
I wonder if Czech wine is sold here?
Best thing that happened this week. The craftsmen have finished the
major renovation of the shelter (after about 3 weeks, during which time the
I stayed in a motel for 10 days)
in a motel for 10 days)

Biggeros says:
This week there have been many visits to the beach in Valdegrana÷)) Here it is hot!!! What a big wine barrel that holds 100,000 litres of wine. Not too bad. Fun to go to a wine tasting. Free ones always taste extra good.
22 July 2016 - 18:06
Ama de casa says:
Haha! I think the Swedes were a bit thin back then. Yes, thin who couldn't handle this thin 🙂.
The most positive thing this week was probably that we went further out after a quick visit home. The best before date has not yet expired, after all 😉.
22 July 2016 - 18:35
Matts Torebring says:
A whole week of sitting out on the terrace at home, every evening after work. That's when Sweden is at its best. At the same time, I rejoice with you and all the beautiful castles you present. It is precisely the castles and the people that made us fall in love with France. What a great theme you've created, it really sums up the week in a positive way.
22 July 2016 - 19:11
Motorhome Helge says:
We did not realise that the Czech Republic is a wine country, but there are many beautiful houses/castles that we like to visit. Now we will memorise your places and try wines next trip.
We ourselves are now proud that Helge is as new due to our major cleaning, really top form before Elmia and the next winter trip. As a reward, there was some wine with the food.

Damn what a wine barrel? Here in Italy, wines have also been tasted. Red Barolo wines in Piedmont. Lovely Friday.

Peter Bergström says:
Hi Ruth in Virginia: I don't know about you but I find motels a bit boring, so I would be very happy to come home. Here it's a wonderful day with a gentle breeze and 27 degrees in the air, so it's swimming from the houseboat. take care of yourself Ruth.
Biggeros: With beach, sun and swimming all week, you are probably black now. We also have very nice weather but no sandy beach, but we live on the water so it's easy to swim. Have a nice week.
Ama de Casa: It was probably too much barrel for our relatives, I got stuck in the swamp myself, haha and I wasn't so tough. It sounds like you've had a good week so it's just to hold on.
Matts Torebring: Thank you for the nice words, it feels good in my body. You know that I also love France, which I think has everything, but I feel so damn sorry for France with all the threats and attacks. We need to put an end to this now. Have a nice week and summer evenings when Sweden shows its best side is absolutely wonderful.
The motorhome Helge: Nice to clean out properly as we have not had time yet. FREEDOM is in the workshop because we have to change the throttle that makes the engine light shine all the time. We will get it back two days before we go to Piteå in August. We will meet at Elmia and it will be very nice.
Anette: Now you know how to plan the autumn...Build a real wine barrel at home, haha. What good wines you have tried! Italy is not really my favourite country, but they know how to make wine.
Misstossequeen: We love wine tastings and we have done many at home as well. We buy wines from a country and cook the food as it should be from the country we are tasting. very nice for 4-6 people for a whole evening.
23 July 2016 - 11:33
Lena - good for the soul says:
Haha, what a barrel. Nice with wine tasting. It's easy for it to get stuck in your head. We went wine tasting in California with stops at six wineries with four different wines at each place. Guess if it hit the head, haha. Luckily we travelled by jeep so we got a bit winded on the way back and luckily it passes quickly.
The best part of the week was the incredibly beautiful weather. Love the sun and heat!
Hug Lena

Maria that from an interior design point of view says:
But OMG what an incomparably beautiful castle in the beginning 🙂 I love castles and want to see as many as possible in life. Sounded great with having wine tasting in the beautiful luxurious environment. Your blog is just true joy of life.
Today I have Strömstad/Koster tips on the blog!
Have a great weekend:)
