Today the Stora Nolia exhibition in Piteå was visited by Tony Irving and a group of dancers from the Let's Dance programme. We also had time to ask Tony Irving four quick questions about travelling. That our friend Thore would be on stage came as a bonus and total surprise ...

Dance and humour
Tony Irving is a professional dancer and known as the chairman of the jury on the popular TV programme Let's Dance. He is also known from the programme Camping Queens, where he and stylist Jonas Hallberg go on a motorhome holiday in summer Sweden. Today he offered both humour and dance on stage.
Tony had one arm in a sling because he had injured it while riding a "mountain bike", as he put it. He can't dance for several months, but luckily he had four professional dancers from Let's Dance with him: Tobias Wallin, David Watson, Malin Watson and Cecilia Ehrling.
Our friend Thore on stage
We had planned to watch on the dance show, but not that delta in it. But Tony Irving was keen to get some 'victims' on stage and looked around for some who 'looked funny'. And who did he choose first of all? Well, our friend Thore ...
The poor men and women who came on stage were given quick instructions to do their version of a rumba (I think it was) while Tony repeatedly said "this is going to go to hell". We who watched had fun of course!
"Real" dance show
Once a winning couple had been chosen from the poor "victims" on stage, it was time for the professional dancers to show us where the cupboard was. We got to see professional versions of quickstep and disco dancing and whatever else. At least it was swinging!
Four quick questions for Tony Irving
After the show, we had the opportunity to ask Tony Irving four quick questions, and of course we wanted to ask him about travelling:
What is your favourite destination in Sweden?
When I just want to relax, I like the neighbourhood around Sundsvall. I also like Gränna, and I have recently discovered a nice place near Bollnäs.
What is your favourite destination in the world?
Crete!
How do you prefer to travel, is it by motorhome?
I love travelling by motorhome - but not to Crete!
What is your dream destination?
South Africa! I've been there once, but didn't get to see much and would love to see more.

But how nice that you got to meet Tony Irving and ask him questions! It looks like it was a lively event. I've been to a collective "dance class" with Tony too, at an advertising agency's Christmas party. Can say that it went like that... 😉 .

Until then, we hope for more summer to enjoy.

Talk about celebrity spotting! I have never seen Let's dance and Camping Queens, but even I recognise the name Tony Irving. Great fun with an interview and the picture with Peter is really nice.
PS. I didn't think you were watching Let's dance, it was totally unexpected;-) DS.

Ditte says:
Fun with dance at Nolia! And these are very skilful dancers themselves. I have seen them live on a Helsinki boat and it was really a great show.
Nice picture with Peter in it.

Veiken says:
Dancing is great fun, but I think it's awful when you choose victims from the audience. I can speak in front of many, but would never go up as a "victim" Well, if it was Bruce Springsteen, He takes up people a little now and then! 🙂

What a super fun feature! 😀
Here you have a dedicated Let's Dance viewer. Have followed over the years. Love to see dancing 😀.
Tony had apparently been to Böda Sand, Öland, when my eldest daughter and her family were camping there, and his son-in-law had been picked up there, but he likes it. There is always the word NO, if so.
Great interview and picture of you there last time!

So fun that it was just Thore who got to enter the stage:)) haha. So sad that I completely missed this. Would have been fun to see him dance:). But he seemed to do well. Very nice pictures Helena. Hugs to you

If you could avoid all the commercial breaks, Let's Dance is quite fun to watch. Experiencing it in real life is certainly something completely different. It's a fun fair anyway!

Anna, it was great fun both to see the show and to meet Tony Irving, but I understand that the dance course was not easy. I myself am completely useless at dancing! 😉
Dessi, really, was it just them? What fun! The show was really good! 🙂
Ullie, we have seen several seasons of Let's Dance, but maybe not all of them. We think it's a fun programme!
BP, believe it or not, we have seen several seasons of Let's Dance. However, we have. funnily enough, we haven't seen Camping Queens. But we've heard about it!
Ditte, glad you saw these dancers on a Helsinki boat. Truly skilful!
Veiken, I also think it's really hard when they have to choose someone in the audience. I was glad it wasn't me 😉.
Geddfish, glad you appreciated the post! 🙂 I also like to watch dance, but unfortunately I am terrible at dancing myself. Peter is better, but I have no sense of rhythm and rhythm ...
Deciree, haha, it was fun, wasn't it? And I was glad it wasn't me 😉 Glad you like the pictures! Hugs
Steve, haha, well, let's see when we get the next celebrity interview 😉.
Matts, we don't like adverts either and actually watch TV quite rarely for that very reason. But we think Let's Dance is fun to watch!
Well, let's just say that Thore and his partner did not win, but one of the other couples (the man in shorts at the back of the picture).
Lennart, we haven't been bored after all 😉.
Ama de casa, haha, we were a bit starstruck 😉 Tony really has charisma and an entertaining personality!
