Ok, now we and Peter are driving behind two steering wheels! two cars that make a mess at the same time, well then we just have to resort to Monty Python's "Always look on the bright side of life". Go online and search for the cause of the faults and this should be resolved pretty quickly.
The Renault only started when it felt like it, about every fourth time. It's like raising a teenager, they listen every fourth time, hmm. The campervan suddenly lost the reversing camera and the reversing light, but that can't be that hard to fix, can it?
Renault Clio does not start
Exactly! We got the car running and now we are not going to switch off the Renault before we have bought spare parts, and we have them in our hands. Done and dusted and off we went to hunt. I had looked online and there are whole forums about "Renault Clio not starting" and what a relief that I am not alone in the boat.
The ignition switch? What word? Like the flagpole knob stopper cleaner... Should I say this when we get to the workshop? I finally got my little, well you know... sensor.
Now I had to change it, and damn what I was looking for and couldn't find it. Into the computer and turn on where the little rascal could sit, and there under a hose, a miracle happens, I find it and how happy you can be for the little one. Easy to change once it came out and now little FREEDOM runs again like a pearl.
Rear light sensor for motorhomes
Ha, a sensor must be a piece of cake! Read the web again and bought a long 19 mm sleeve to replace the sensor, so here we go. It is too thick! Ok, I hit the net again and it should be an extra thin long sleeve. Off to shop and try again, NOT! I take out the angle cutter and grind down the walls of the sleeve but it is too narrow anyway at the bottom of the engine, so it just does not work.
Now I know! There was once a genius who invented a reversing camera sensor, and his mates asked him what to do with it. He said that if you start with the sensor and build a "car around it" you'll probably find it useful in the future, right? A car could be repaired and I'm happy about it.
Today we're going to a wedding that we're photographing so all the lights are on and it's really "Happy Friday". How has your lovely week been?

Anette says:
No not fun when cars break down...not fun to get phone calls when you sit and hold your breath at the top of the mountain in Albania either! Mum, I've crashed your new Renault Clio... Then when we get home and the husband is driving it, what does he do, he finds a kerb and gets a puncture.... And you shouldn't think that Bilia has such a tyre, no, so it's just as well that they do everything next week when it goes to the workshop. Hope you have a good weekend, we will go out with the motorhome and be a dog sitter this weekend, think we are in the forest? Be well/Anette Å

Anette says:
Keep your fingers crossed that the cars are now in good condition so that you do not miss the wedding. It will be fun to see some nice wedding pictures after these pictures of tinkering with cars 😉.

Well, you never know with cars...
Personal and idiosyncratic. Let's hope they keep their spirits up.
Have had a great week on a work trip in Bohuslän. great fun and a lot to see and experience and many meetings with nice people.
Wishing you good luck with the photo shoot and a great weekend.

Ama de casa says:
My opinion is that cars should just work and roll on. Unfortunately not all cars are of the same opinion... 😉 Well done!
Lovely with weddings, but a little nervous to be the photo manager, right? But you both take such good pictures, so it will definitely be great photos 🙂 .

Åsa says:
We took our car to the workshop, the Nissan workshop even, to fix the broken AC and inject something. A lamp loose on the panel, 10,000 crowns. A week later, the same lamp lights up again and two weeks later the AC is blowing hot again... Have booked a return visit and hope they do not intend to charge for fixing the same things again.
19 August 2016 - 10:10
Peter Bergström says:
Anette: What a story and you don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm sure they fix all the problems but it has become very expensive to even drive into a workshop today. Have a wonderful weekend in husis and we go for nice weather.
Hello there Thore & Catta! Flywheel sensor is one of four words they have on this thing. The reverse light sensor for the motorhome cannot be fixed, so it will be the workshop, but I am just as happy about it. Nice weekend.
Hi Ditte. Personal and quirky are just the right words. As usual, you have lots of fun things to do and you make your life as beautiful as possible, wonderful Ditte. It will be very fun with the wedding and we hope for some great pictures of the bride and groom. Have a nice weekend and take care of yourself.

Peter Bergström says:
Ama de Casa: Thank you and I'm probably not the happiest patron in town. Imagine if you could text the stuff instead... so better development on the web, haha. We hope to get those extra nice cards from the wedding and it will be exciting.
19 August 2016 - 10:18
Peter Bergström says:
Åsa: Crazy expensive with cars and it is obvious that you should not pay again. I'm glad I managed to get a car and now I'm going to charge for the motorhome and the donor that I can't access. Let's have a nice weekend Asa and just enjoy.

JoY says:
Cars should just work and if they don't you get Grrrr. Wishing you a nice "photo wedding". When we got married and the friend was going to film with our video camera. She got nervous and forgot to put it on when we entered the church hahaha.
Hugs

Mr Steve says:
The time is past when you could easily fix car faults yourself. But, so good with the web as an encyclopaedia even for a car mechanic... Good job!
The highlights of the week here at Getingstorp have been Wednesday's lawn mowing and yesterday's surströmming premiere.
Hope the sun is with you at your wedding today. It's not here.
19 August 2016 - 12:29
åsa in åsele says:
OMG cars are just supposed to work, there should be a law that forbids cars to make noise and suddenly "for no reason" stop working 😉.
I hope you have a nice weekend 🙂
19 August 2016 - 13:04
Peter Bergström says:
Haha Joy: It's also a memory and what a thing, haha. We will think about it a little extra. Cars and computers must not stop working because then we are helpless. Have a nice weekend.
Hi Steve: We're having a great party and you're a tough guy for eating surströmming. I eat most things in the world but that's it. Have a nice weekend.
Haha Åsa in Åsele: In ten years there will only be driverless cars and then we can rent them and we won't have to deal with motorised vehicles. Wonderful future. Have a really nice weekend.

Cars! They should just work, just like any other technical gadget 😉.
Hope you have fun at the wedding anyway!

Lena - good for the soul says:
Such satisfaction when things finally fall into place! And especially when it comes to cars, it's great to be able to solve it yourself. Can be crazy expensive otherwise.
My week has been good. Moderate pace at work and two training sessions completed this week. Feels good!
Have a nice Friday! And good luck with the photography!
Hug Lena

whirligig says:
It's a pain in the arse with cars. It used to be easier to fix it yourself, but now everything seems so complicated, according to my husband. Should have the appropriate tools. You're good.
Have fun at the wedding.
Hugs to you.

I'm not as handy as you are together. Speaking of cars... Buy a Hyundai with four-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic, if you want it on your birthday (6 September), my dear Birgitta said yesterday. Then, of course, I bought a new car.
19 August 2016 - 19:41
BP says:
Must say I am incredibly impressed with your technical talent and how handy you are. I don't even know what an ignition switch sensor is let alone what a reversing camera sensor is. Are there just sensors as well - well, not that I know what that is either, but still;-)
Wishing you good weather during the race and your photo assignment. The race is so much better in the sunshine.

Ohhh, I have memories of when I was tinkering with my folka variant... I had a "Do it yourself" book that was often used! The spare parts often had to be found in the scrapyard...
