Now we are in place in Piteå and prepared for the Stora Nolia fair that starts tomorrow. It has taken two days to drive up and we have had nice company of motorhome friends all the way. There was an overnight stay in Örnsköldsvik and a small trip past Bea's smokehouse in Jävre before we rolled into the caravan park in Piteå.
RV park in Örnsköldsvik
It was just right to spend the night in Örnsköldsvik and there we found a nice pitch in the harbour. The pitches are large and nicely located by the water. There is access to toilets and showers, electricity, water and a restaurant. The only downside is that the price (250 SEK/night) feels a little too high for a simple pitch on tarmac. In any case, we had a nice evening together with our campervan friends Thore and Catta, with the blog Independence2015.
Beas smokehouse in Jävre
After several readers told us about Bea's smokehouse in Jävre, we thought we had to stop by! The smokehouse is located in Jävre just south of Piteå and is a cosy place with a restaurant and caravan park by a marina and a lighthouse. We had already had lunch when we got here, but a small smoked char still had to come along in the campervan. Thanks for the tip!
Now we are on site at a parking space organised by Husbilsklubben in Rosvik in Piteå. The fair starts today. This is going to be exciting!

Nice to be home in Sweden again, I can imagine. Fun to see the motorhomes, they actually look quite large, but compared to all we see here in Canada, they look tiny 🙂 Have a good time in Piteå!!!

Mias Mix, on the American continent they like everything big 😉 There are bigger motorhomes here too, but many are about our size, or even smaller.
These, it is clear that we will meet! We have to make sure! 🙂

What lovely weather you have too - great! But you missed Byske... Not so strange, you whiz past pretty quickly 🙂 But their campsite usually gets high marks. I liked it when I camped there, although it was probably midsummer 1978, if I remember correctly... 😉.
Have a great time at the fair!

Piteå is a charming little town, don't know how the campsite is after being an asylum accommodation... but it used to be very nice.
Hot smoked char is yummy *Norrland delivers*!
I hope you have great days in Piteå and that Nolia will be a good event,

Matts Torebring, I agree that it is good when the locations are marked!
Steve, it's good stuff, I agree! And thank you!
Rolle and Carina, there will probably be quite a few 😉.
Ditte, thank you so much! Right now it's great weather, but it's almost TOO hot inside the halls, so if it gets a little cooler in the future, it doesn't matter so much... 😉.
Jeanette, thank you very much! We will of course report back!
Lena in Wales, yes there is always something going on haha!
Imelda, thank you!
Åsa in Åsele, are you thinking of Pite Havsbad? It was super nice when we were there in 2010. Now we are standing in a simpler place that the Motorhome Club has fixed.

As a smoked fish lover, I immediately grabbed the char!
I like to buy whitefish and rainbow trout here. Vätternsiken is great. But, I HAVE eaten the smoked char in Norrland during my inland railway journey up to Gällivare a year ago!
Wishing you interesting and rewarding stay plus beautiful weather 😀.
Saturday hugs!
