Summer days in the houseboat

We had thought that we would have time to experience the summer in the houseboat. Now we have flown around more than we thought perhaps - in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland - but we have still had nice summer days in the houseboat in between.

Everyday life in a houseboat

During the hottest days we have been swimming a lot. Peter jumps in directly from the deck and I (being a bit more hardy) use the bathing ladder that we have attached to the bridge. One day when Peter was swimming he realised that he should scrub the hull a bit. Then he took the opportunity to clean the small windows at the bottom as well ...

On another day, staff at the marina tested the emergency bridge, which is located underwater at the entrance. It is supposed to be able to be raised in case of fire, and must of course be tested from time to time. Not that hoisting it up is particularly fast, but it works anyway. And a poor perch got stuck on the way up ...

Serbian barbecue dinner in Stockholm

Sometimes we do some excursions from the houseboat too, and just before we left for Poland we were invited to a Serbian (!) barbecue dinner with our newfound friends Marko and Petra (who run the great lifestyle blog Pellas Inspiration) There were lots of good sausages, cevapcici, grilled vegetables and various sauces. Sooo heavenly good!

Marko, who is from Serbia, and Petra, who has been there many times, also told us about ski resorts and spas and all sorts of interesting things in Serbia, so of course we are now curious about travelling there. Have you or someone you know been to Serbia?
