Today the big fair Elmia Husvagn Husbil has opened. Swift group presents two new models in the Toscane family and we must say that these motorhomes impress us, with well-equipped kitchens and a strong focus on safety. If we were to buy a new motorhome, we would definitely consider one of these!
Table of contents
Affordable motorhomes with features
The new motorhome models are called Toscane 794 QB (queen bed) and 794 EB (long bed). Both vehicles are 8.11 metres long and have a total weight of 3850 kg in the basic version, and 4250 kg if a maxi chassis is chosen.
The price of the basic version is SEK 729,000, and then you don't have to add a lot of things. There are very few optional extras and instead they have focused on including as much as possible in the basic price.
For example, it comes with an app that allows you to control all the functions of the motorhome via your mobile phone. There are also instructional videos in Swedish on the company's website that explain everything you might be wondering about.
Well-equipped kitchens
We like to cook in our motorhome and can't imagine being without an oven. Many new motorhome models don't have an oven (or only have it as an option), but in Tuscany there are always both oven and microwave. The oven has three gas hobs and one electric hob, and the microwave is electric.
Strong focus on safety
Another thing that many motorhomes lack is a focus on safety. As many people know, the passengers in the back seat of a motorhome are very vulnerable in an accident. Tuscans are the only motorhomes to be crash tested. with crash-test dummies.
To ensure that the rear passengers are also reasonably safe, a roll bar has been fitted under the seats. When travelling, the dining table must also be removed and placed in a special place (so that it does not get stuck in the stomach in the event of a crash).
Another safety measure concerns fire. All textiles, including curtains, are fire-retardant and will not catch fire if a candle is knocked over. All cars have both smoke and anaesthetic alarms as standard.
Three smaller models
In addition to the two new models, there are three smaller models in the Toscane family: two 7.74 metre motorhomes and one 6.40 metre. The smallest model is somewhat reminiscent of a van in its design, and despite its limited length, there are both oven and microwave. Liked by us at FREEDOMtravel!
Mr Steve says:
It's a nice move to invest in a full range of basic equipment instead of a lot of optional extras. I can surely assume that this is equipment that most people want and use Yes, I think so, but of course people have different opinions.
I can imagine that you are enjoying yourself as you walk around and browse the news.

Wow, suddenly it happens! Safety is on the agenda in the motorhome industry! A welcome news, I hope that more people will follow!

åsa in åsele says:
I like the fact that they have good basic equipment, especially a well-equipped kitchen, and the fact that they are crash-tested and think about passenger safety gives it an extra plus.

I was hooked on the security mindset! That's great!

Ditte says:
I don't know anything about motorhomes, but compared to a boat, safety is all-important and the equipment is important.
It's great that virtually all equipment is included in the price and doesn't have to be purchased for extra money.
I have no idea about the price range of motorhomes, but I guess it is also often the case that you get what you pay for. A well-equipped kitchen and with good storage space is really important and nice with windows above the stove/oven.

Steve, we also like that a little more is included in the basic price. Otherwise, it's easy to add a lot, and then it actually becomes much more expensive than you originally thought.
Camilla, but isn't it? It feels like consumers have been asking for it for a long time, but manufacturers haven't bothered. At last!
Åsa in Åsele, both oven and microwave in the basic equipment is really unusual, and we like that!
Lena, us too! The places in the back of a motorhome are actually quite risky, and that's where you put the children if you're travelling with children. Doesn't feel so good if no one has thought about safety then ...
Ditte, perhaps there has been more focus on safety in boats than in motorhomes? In motorhomes, the focus is often mostly on the interior design 😉 Of course, this is also important, but it's time for manufacturers to start thinking about safety!

Dryden - Traveller's Edition says:
Ah, all these option lists. We certainly don't have a motorhome but are looking for a regular car and there we notice quite a difference in the accessory lists. I can understand the manufacturers, but when even obvious things end up as an extra cost, you just want to tear up the brochure and storm out of there. 😉

Nice to get news. Safety aspects are important.

Enjoy and keep watching.....

Emma, sun like sun? says:
It's difficult to decide whether or not to add options. You want to have everything but you don't want to pay for something that you will certainly never use.
It's so fascinating to see all these solutions, when you have to fit everything and even more in a limited space.
When I worked in the dental industry, I was in a camper van that had been converted into a small clinic, fully equipped with a normal-sized dental chair, a small "waiting room" (well, couch and table) and a whole steriliser (the cleaning area). The side of the vehicle could be extended to double the size of the actual reception room. Interesting, as I said.

Deciree says:
It's good that smaller motorhomes are emerging. Here in Croatia we would have had a smaller version for the car parks. A little too long for us right now7,80 long. Continue to have fun. Hugs

Henny says:
So good that you are there and check for us. I was very keen on the little Toscane 640 HB, which is only 6.40 metres long. Smart with two sofas in the back that become a bed when it's time to sleep. The kitchen also sounds well planned. Will immediately buy a lottery ticket or send in a lotto line 🙂 .

Take care!

Dryden, right? You can understand that some things are optional, but when most of the things you need are extra costs, it feels boring. In a motorhome you would like to have an oven, for example, but when it is only available as an option it is often very expensive.
Elisabeth, safety is important, but there has not been much focus on it...
Anja, haha, that's how it can go! We haven't noticed that, but apparently it can get hot... 😉.
Rolle and Carina, we like Adria, but this one became a favourite at the fair!
Emma, I understand what you mean about the options, and some extras can definitely be optional. In motorhomes, however, it often feels like many quite basic things are optional ... Then it will be cheaper if the manufacturers put the stuff in all cars as standard, than if they have to install in individual cars. Interesting with the dentist's van! You can use a motorhome for a lot of things 😉.
Deciree, in many parts of southern Europe it can be convenient to have a car that is not too big... 😉.
Henny, I'll probably also buy a lottery ticket or lotto line. Many nice motorhomes here! 🙂
Lena in Wales, modern motorhomes (and caravans) are very nice!

A really nice motorhome with a good price. Had not heard of this model before actually.
Hugs to you!

Across the board says:
Not many people have crash tested "for real" but it's great if manufacturers can do it without too much expense. Good initiative, really

Matts Torebring says:
That's all well and good, but with midwinter on the doorstep, what about underfloor heating and grey water tanks?
07 September 2016 - 20:24
admin says:
Catarina, they have only sold in the Swedish market in the last year as I understand it. However, Swift group has been around for a long time.
This is a commendable initiative indeed. I hope more will follow suit.
Matts, we didn't check this, so I can't answer. But it's a good question of course!

Inga Magnusson says:
Must be gold from a security point of view to have gas intruder alarms.

Mr Christer Johansson says:
Reply to Matts : Have a Swift Toscane 774 EB myself and it has both heated tanks and underfloor heating as standard 🙂 .
