Today is Friday and Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2016 is reaching its peak. What is actually happening here at the fair? And how are we doing? Here's a quick update and some info on what you can expect in the future.
Busy at the fair and campsite
It's really busy both inside the fair and out in the camping area. We try to keep an eye on our little table in Entré Syd and tell you about our blog and our competition, while also trying to research and report on all the news at the fair, interview interesting people and, of course, talk to new and old friends. We've already met lots of bloggers and people we know who are involved in the camping industry in various ways.
I get headaches and migraines easily when things get stressful and yesterday, when I took too many headache tablets, I got a terrible stomach ache instead. I lay in the motorhome most of the day while Peter held the fort. In the evening we were both (for different reasons) completely end and was fascinated by the pensioners around us at the fairground campsite who partied loudly all night, haha. I really hope that we will be more alert in the last days.
Reports to come
What kind of reports can you expect? We are preparing several different posts, including exciting new camping gadgets, motorhomes for large families with children, various camping and motorhome associations, the festivities on site and all the motorhome bloggers who are here. So, stay tuned!

What a fair 🙂
Nowadays, there are caravans and motorhomes with all the comfort you have at home 🙂 Mighty.
I imagine they cost a bit too.
Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying your Friday!
Big hug
Jessica

It's a bit fascinating that the peripheral activities are growing year by year or it's a great reason to visit the fair.

I'm sorry that you have a headache and that your stomach hurts from too many tablets 🙁 .

Kenneth Risberg says:
It's hard to be unwell during the fair but I think you'll be fit again soon!
But an interesting question that emerged is whether the partying/hanging out or the fair is the highlight of the trip to Elmia. Is it that the fair is a reason to meet and party in the evening? Perhaps a sensitive question, but still, what attracts most?

I/we have been to the Elmia fair on two occasions and then day trips (not so far to Jönköping from Lidköping). Always fun to check.
I can imagine that everything has escalated and if it has become a party campsite, there is not much peace for those who want to work.
It's a shame that you would get a headache and then a stomach ache, sounds stressful. I myself got a warning for too much flickering.
Get well soon and hope for good mash tomorrow! 😀 ♥

Hello, everybody! Hope you can make it. We are on our way to Italy and find that the pitches are very popular here. Costs between 8,5 Euro to 12 Euro. Here in Nesselwagn internet is included. Then you pay anything from 10 cent to 1 Euro for water and showers. Exciting development from camping to good pitches.

That migraine was really badly timed, to say the least! Hope you felt better today.
Oh yeah, pensioners do not get up as early as you, so then they are well alert in the evenings. Almost reminds me of when I was in my 20s;-)

Nice photo from your street, with all the big boys on the right. Surely the fair is absolutely gigantic. What fun it was to meet you Helena today, I hope you feel better now.

Sad about the headache that later became a stomach ache, but hope this is temporary.
Sounds like an exciting fair with many new features.
And judging by the number of motorhomes, I can understand that it can be busy and noisy. After all, there are no large gaps between the motorhomes.
Hope the night will be quieter, But the pensioners have probably rested themselves in shape before the fair....

Jessica, this is indeed the case. Modern motorhomes and caravans are very comfortable to live in. It is not particularly cheap, although there are of course more expensive and cheaper variants.
C'mon, I can imagine that peripheral activities are a good way to get people to visit the fair year after year, even if they didn't really intend to buy anything 😉.
Amanda, headaches are a pain in the arse. Thanks for your comment!
Kenneth Risberg, for our personal part, it is the trade fair that attracts the most, but through the surrounding activities, you manage to create a social event that makes people want to come back year after year, and maybe stay more days than they would have done otherwise.
Geddfish, thanks for your concern! The headaches are certainly partly stress related. It's a misery that I live with, although I may not write about it very often....
Seija, thank you for your report! Our experience is also that in many countries (Germany, France...) there are many good and affordable pitches. Wishing you a pleasant journey!!!
BP, the migraine is usually not so well appreciated unfortunately... And maybe it is so, that the pensioners sleep in the mornings instead. I like the comparison with 20 year olds, haha 😉 .
Matts, glad you like the photo! Really great fun to finally meet! 🙂
Ditte, there really are a lot of motorhomes and caravans here! According to the organisers, there are about 10,000 people at the campsite! When it comes to distance, they have actually been careful with the 4 metres that apply to fire safety, but it is quite crowded anyway 😉.

I was a bit jealous of everyone who can go to the fair but now that I think about it ... well. It would have been great fun to see all the wagons and cars, meet you and feel the atmosphere, for a while 😉 My brain without an impression filter would have had a hard time :/.

Kenneth Risberg says:
I can plan a little better and book a place for next year and experience the atmosphere, fair and camping live.

You have really held the line on all sides. Well done! But a miserable migraine and stomach ache. Fairs can be really stressful and exhausting for anyone.
Let's hope for a healthy weekend for you!

Looking forward to the post with the partying pensioners. Maybe I have something to learn there? 😉
