Ok, here we go and this is Peter writing. We have set out to create a new career and I closed my construction company in 2015. I have worked 6 weeks this year to bring in some money but it is Helena who supports us now.
I study digitalisation and social media for several hours every day. I run to meetings, seminars, lectures and I am in contact with all the Tourist Boards across Europe. I also work very hard to get advertising on the blog and talk and write to as many companies as possible. We might give up, NOT... You know us!
A day at work
Tuesday: In the morning at 8-10am I had a breakfast seminar with an event company called Differ about "The new ecosystem for loyalty". Meeting live people is a hit when you usually get stuck in the boat with a computer, so you are smiling most of the time.
Others must think you've won the highest prize at keno or something, haha. I want all the data from all the companies, and maybe I can transfer that work to our blog, because we have to live too. Small things I pick up but most of it I already know.
Genuine on the way out?
I moved on in Stockholm and met Fejo at my favourite shop Taracci (pronounced Tarachi) in the MOOD mall behind NK. The location is fantastic but selling clothes is a thing of the past as online shopping is taking over, so new times are coming.
This guy designs his own clothes and selects his fabrics himself, so it's top quality. He makes 16 of each garment to make it authentic and to make you feel special. We should all wear the same garments from HM and Dressman and look the same, a bit of a Mao Zedong warning.
Travel bloggers
12.30 I had a meeting with the Italian Alps, well maybe more the Val Gardena Alporten. We have a trip planned in collaboration with the Austrian Tourist Board on 5-8 January, and will write about the Alps and Skijuvel but why not another trip? We agreed to get in touch and we will go down between February and March and ski there as well.
Being a travel blogger is a lot of fun, but paying your bills isn't as fun when there's only one salary. We continue to have a stomach ache of nervousness as we build for a future as travel bloggers. We will succeed, the only question is when?
On the way home I was lucky enough to pass NK and their Christmas display and it is just amazing every year.
Now the question is, what is your relationship with skiing in the Alps or what do you buy for clothes? Quality or quantity?
Lena - good for the soul says:
I think you've already succeeded as a travel blogger. Then maybe there is a bit left until you can make a living from it. You will of course get there!
I have skied once in the Alps and that was after midsummer. Went on a motorcycle holiday on my first honeymoon and we stayed a few days in Zell am See. Really cool to ski in a bikini top and jeans in the middle of summer. But useless skiing. It was like skiing in sugar.
And what about clothes? I always try to stick to quality, mainly because it's so hard to shop all the time, hehe.

You are really professional travel bloggers, writing fun and elegantly, in a nice mix. But then there's making money. And I miss that too, for my part. I am only ideal in everything I do 😀.
With your positive attitude, you will succeed. Sometimes it just takes some time 😀.
When it comes to clothes, I like to buy quality, because it will be a base that lasts for a long time and will not be labelled "oh, that rag" 😀.
Hugs!

Full speed ahead! It is clear that you will manage to live on this! I'm really impressed by your energy!!! Skiing? hm, yes, sometimes I can dream of getting out and cross-country skiing, rushing forward there in the spruce forest, feeling the cold biting my cheeks and breathing fresh and cold health air. It was over 25 years ago....

The Dolomites are amazing mountains that rise straight up. Val Gardena certainly has a super area to ride in, a beautiful valley. We have only been there and hiked on 22 September 2014 (look at our blog).

Oh was it a nice event? I was allowed to jump because I had a babysitter! Baby was not allowed to follow. We are also hungry for the Alps this winter actually!!!
How good you are! You inspire!!!

It's fun to follow your blog and see how you are doing.
Downhill skiing has not been my thing BUT in the long run I have done a LOT of skiing.
Clothes have been important to me BUT now as a pensioner I want simple and comfortable clothes. I've never been brand-bound, but I don't want to look like everyone else.
We were invited to the daughter's house and I put on a shirt to the delight of the grandchildren, who wear a lot of jumpers.

I think you have a great blog. But understand that there is a lot of work behind it, I know from experience.
Have you considered writing in English as well to reach a wider market? I've thought about it, but for me it's too much work that I simply don't have time for.

Mads says:
Of course you will succeed... you already do?
Always exciting to read your blog.
How fun to ski in the Alps. There is absolutely nothing better. THAT is where you should go skiing ?.

Marina says:
Oh, saw the header picture and got so "ski sick". I have been skiing in the Dolomites. It is absolutely fantastic, so nice! Have passed by car in the summer as well and it is beautiful then too, but it is not the same thing!
And I don't doubt for a second that you will succeed in your plans 🙂 .

Ama de casa says:
Oh yeah... You scared me a bit there in the beginning, I thought it was Friday and that I had missed a couple of days here in life... 😉.
Well, you are very famous for giving up... HAHA! Of course you row ashore this too! 🙂
We have a tradition of skiing once a year with our ski and boat team. It has been 12 times so far since we started in 2005. Always to the Alps (except once when we got completely snowed in in the Sierra Nevada here in Spain 😉 ). Have been to the Alps many more times than that, and also travelled in the USA and Canada. Every year we usually train a little in the Sierra Nevada before we go on this year's trip, but then we check the weather carefully before we leave and go at short notice and stay in Granada where it is both cheaper and larger selection of hotels, restaurants and such.
Considering how much we have been skiing anyway, it is strange how bad I am. Makes sense for my name there on the slopes, but spelled a little differently: Ama de kaaasa 😀.
When it comes to clothes, I prefer not to shop at all... Patching and mending until I can't find any fabric anymore. I hate shopping for clothes...
I focused on quality when it came to ski clothing. I got a gift voucher for a goretex outfit when I turned 40. I still use it. But it's only a few years ago... Ooops! It's been 16 years. What happened? 😉

Ditte says:
I have had a great and good relationship with skiing since childhood and then it was mainly skiing in Norway across the country, as well as in Sweden. But when I was 10 years old, downhill skiing came into my life and I made the first trip to Sälen with Skid and Friluftsfrämjandet. Then I was hooked.
Have probably travelled a lot in Italy, many different places and also in Val Gardena. Switzerland, France, Spain, Andorra and Austria have had frequent visits. Also travelled in China. Have tried Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Poland but I don't think it's worth going there. If you are a beginner possibly... Cheaper, but with fewer lifts and smaller and shorter runs.
I prefer to go to places where you can ride around in a sysyem for a day so it's a full day trip and preferably a bit steep and off piste (easier ones).
In Val Gardena you should be able to get around the "Sella Ronda" which is a several mile long route that is really cool - a great full day trip.
I hope it now gives good results, also financially with the blog. But stubbornness usually pays off.
Because living and travelling costs money, whether you are invited or not.
Wishing you all the best and good luck.

Exciting to read about what a blogger's day looks like! 🙂 Peter is diligent he... would need to have some of his energy sometimes I can feel 😉 .

You've already succeeded as a travel blogger. But everything can be improved, and the potential for improvement is something you seem to have unlimited, so you'll see that soon paying the bills will even be fun.
I grew up skiing, both cross-country and downhill, but it didn't really appeal to me so I never got to ski in the Alps.
When it comes to clothes, I used to be a bit of a snob. I loved to be well dressed and always chose quality over quantity. Nowadays I have had to adapt to a completely different style of clothing. But I still always choose quality over quantity. It's in my spine, whether it's clothes or anything else.

BP says:
Yes, you usually succeed with what you plan:-) So I think you'll succeed with this project too. I mean if Kissie and Blondinbella can, you should also succeed.
Nowadays I am careful about my femoral neck, but when I was younger I often went skiing in the Alps. I know Val Gardena and "Sella Ronda" and Val di Fassa well. Wonderful skiing! But France with Tignes/Val d'Isère is probably my favourite. I have also skied in Switzerland (Zermatt, St Moritz) and Austria (St Anton).
When it comes to clothes, I've blogged a few times about what I think of Dressmann and H&M - over my dead body, so to speak. For me, it's mainly Desigual (completely your piece Peter - I think) and Esprit that apply. However, the latter brand has unfortunately gone downhill lately.
PS. Does your son Robin work at Taracci, or am I misremembering? DS.

Peter Bergström says:
Lena-Good for the soul: We have never travelled in the Alps but what you did sounded very cool and you remember it. When it comes to clothes, I'm a sucker for anything that stands out. You can tell that Fejo from Taracci is a fan of Bowie, Prince and the 70s.
Geddfish: Thanks Gerd! We need some capital and those who wait for something good...I think quality matters more as you get older.
Anita Wåg Agrimanaki: Living in different climates is great. I prefer to live in the sun for 10 months of the year and then I can take 2 months in the cold. I also believe that one of us will be able to live on this, but it is enough as a start. Thank you Anita for your kind words.
Thank you Lennart: it's warming.
Joy: I will because it looks very magical. They promote the summer pretty hard too. Time to go:-).
Always as cute Liniztravel: It will be our first and second time in the same year in the Alps so it will be fun. Of course it would have been fun to meet Lina and we'll do it again soon. Hugs.
Nils-Åke: You see what others around you think you look like and I think you went the extra mile. I still do business with others so it's a must to look fresh.
Lena in Wales: We can't write in English because then we lose everything. The Tourist Board wants us to write for the Swedish audience and it wouldn't work in English. It also feels more comfortable to do it in Swedish.
Mads. "Thank you very much and we have succeeded so far, but I am aiming for the stars. It will be a great experience in the Alps. Take care of yourself, Mads.
Marina: Thank you !!!!!!!! Now I get really excited about the Alps and what fun we will have. hugs.
Ama De Kasaaa: Hahahahahaha, I have tears in my eyes. How nice you are, haha. I understand what you mean because we went past Granada and we heard about the chaos that can happen there in the winter. It will be damn exciting to go to the Alps and now it looks like it will be twice in a few months. TOP.
Ditte: This sounds like we're going to get really stuck in. You paint a wonderful picture of being there, so it will be great fun. Damn, you've done a lot of skiing too. Are you sure there are no more Ditte+ How have you managed everything you've been through+ Have you lived as a backpacker all your life? You are just incredible Ditte. Hugs and take care of yourself.
THANK YOU Ullie! We hope that we offer you an experience through the blog. Times are changing and soon everyone will have VR glasses at home and then you will travel to all destinations and be on site. We're working on making it happen on the blog too. Take care of yourself.
Alexandra: Thank you for your kind words:-) After I finish my life on Fridays, I will write about digitalisation and social media. Also what to think about and how to develop it. Maybe it's the beginning of something new. Hugs to you.
Cosi Comsa: I am doing so much and we have new things in the pipeline.
Steve: Thank you and I look forward to that day. Feeling nice is part of my day and nice clothes make me happier. I understand that you are in a different position, but I'm sure you try to keep your style fresh from time to time. Say hello and take care of yourself.
Åsa in Åsele. It is really cool to see their Christmas display every year so I understand you. You can sleep with us one night and experience it again. Our doors are always open for good friends. I mean that.
Eva- People in the street: What nice words and now I am stretching. I have a little difficulty taking it just but a big thank you:-). Hugs.
Lisa-Life from the bright side. Yes, Lisa, I remember that one with Cecilia. It looks like we'll be going there in February or March, so we'll see. Thank you for your nice words and what you do does not go off without a hitch either. I think you do a great job with your blog and travel podcast and keep it up. Take care of yourself Lisa.
BP: What great places you have travelled to and you know what we are going to experience. Robin worked at Taracci for several years but had to leave due to poor sales. The whole of Stockholm is at a standstill as online shopping has increased and Taracci is about to start too. I will do a report on Taracci in a few weeks. My son Robin has got a new job yesterday in a new service that will really hit the spot. I will probably be involved in promoting this and I will write about it in a few weeks as well. I probably have about ten things going on now at the same time with very large players, so we'll see what deals get done. Now we are running!!!!

You have an ambition like few others, take professional photos and write like professionals. Factual entries like no other, commitment, on the go all the time, of course you have to succeed. I really begrudge you that. Not only that, how do you manage to comment and answer questions like you do? Very few do. Good luck to you!

Good evening to you,
Skiing is close to my heart, both downhill and cross-country.
I have spent a lot of time in the Alps, as I have some connection to Switzerland and a ski system called Flims, Laax, Falera. If you ever pass through, let me know.
When it comes to clothes, I try to avoid mass production and buy quality rather than quantity.
I've just moved to a higher altitude in Pico de Europa to see what they have to offer.
Of course you will succeed, sometimes you just have to correct your business plan a little and the puzzle pieces fall into place. You know that if anyone does....
Goodbye!

It is tough to travel blog, you are professional! BUT can worry (guessing) that your clients "pinch your posts" is it that they have the right to freely use pictures and posts? A paid trip can not be enough as payment for the work that is done! Perhaps publishing on Youtube gives you more?
In fact, other media (TV channels, Pod etc.) are now VERY interested in bloggers, they know how tiring it is to get unique reports quickly! Wish you really good luck in the future!!!

I have a lot of skiing in my life and can't stop yet, will probably keep going until my body can't handle it.....
Use the motorhome for ski trips, have visited Hesemdal Vemdalen last winter season, went great!
At the beginning of March we drive down to the Zillertal where there is a campsite close to the lift in Myerhofen.
Just go for it!
