We have just tried staying in castles in the Czech Republic. We flew from Stockholm to Prague and from there it was only an hour by car to get to Liblice Castle. Here we were able to enjoy good food and a spa. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday night!
Table of contents
Liblice - a castle in the Czech Republic
To suddenly arrive and step into a castle in the Czech Republic felt almost unreal. We were just at home in our houseboat! Helena and I love this environment, so we started taking photos even before we had to register. Read more about Liblice on the castle's website. website.
Stay in a castle in the Czech Republic - our room
Then it was time to take the stairs up to our BIG room and change for dinner. We had plenty of space to say the least, and also a large and good bathroom. What a luxury to live like this!
Dinner in the castle restaurant
The parlour we were to eat in was magnificent, with a real castle feel. We were served pumpkin soup for starters and the main course was goose, cabbage and potato cake. Even dessert, wine, coffee and whiskey went down without a problem.
These Central and Eastern countries don't let you leave the table hungry, and now we felt like we could barely stand up. But of course we did! It was just after eight in the evening and we had a reservation in the castle's spa.
Wellness
What is wellness in the Czech Republic? We were shown to a spa with a sauna, whirlpool and relaxation room, which we had all to ourselves. This was better than I thought it would be. It was probably the first time this year that I really came down to earth. We weren't about to leave because we half fell asleep on the comfortable beds after the pool bath... Today our adventures in the Czech Republic continue, don't miss it!
Great start to the journey

What a start to your trip in the Czech Republic! If you can't go to the spa at the castle, you have to settle for a visit to Aqua Vitalis at Skövde Arena. A highlight of my week was yesterday's visit there together with wonderful colleagues. After a stressful working day, you can feel your shoulders sinking and the calmness settles when you enter the wonderful environment. Looking forward to more Christmas travel reports! Have fun!

Rantamor on the retina says:
But what a wonderful environment you ended up in suddenly, a whole castle to take care of it feels like, and what a dinner you got.
I hope that the castle is also haunted so that you get a real experience there too, because a lot has happened in castles.
And the bubbly, oh my goodness, I would have enjoyed it so much I fell asleep.
Have the best time and enjoy the Christmas market.....
and don't forget to say hello !!!
Tjingelingen from Rantamor.

Have a nice quiet weekend Hugs

Yes, it's like coming home - to your remodelled apartment in Sundbyberg;-) An absolutely fantastic environment, what a setting! Were you there all alone or were there more guests. Otherwise you can easily get lost in such a majestic castle and maybe meet a few ghosts too; -)
Continue to have a wonderful time!

What a great start to the trip, a little luxury is never wrong.
We are currently on the AirPort Express on our way home from Hong Kong. A city that totally blew our minds. Hong Kong really has everything! But now, unfortunately, the fun is over for this time.

Everything looks perfect. You are being treated like royalty. 🙂
So much fun to be with you virtually.

but you two have really worked for it. Well done!
(think it's called that)
Eagerly awaiting the next post.

Maggan and Ingemar says:
Castle visits we have probably never done, yes on those that you can walk around and look, but never slept on. 🙂 Understand that you like the castle with all the stuccoes.... little of your style so to speak 🙂.
We have been to a wine tasting, although we were only supposed to go shopping. We did not know that you could get a guided tour as well. In any case, it was very educational and nice. Have a good time!
25 November 2016 - 19:31
Matts Torebring says:
As you already know, we love staying in the castle gardens of the French castles we've travelled to. To get on the inside and experience what you are doing now, that has to beat most things. I would love it!
25 November 2016 - 20:38
Peter Bergström says:
Anette: we were only 7 people there so it was a lovely castle experience. it was us and our servants, haha. When, it wasn't that good but we were almost alone and just that was cool. nice weekend Anette
Travel Friday: Hello there. what stuff we get to go on, really cool. Today it's been crazy again, so we barely have time to go. have a nice weekend and take care of yourself.
Rantamor på Näthinnan: We are so happy but we didn't get a visit from ghosts. We don't have time for that because we hardly sleep as usual when travelling. now it's twelve o'clock again and we have to get up at six for another 18 hours. fun but tough. Rantamor should be careful and have a cosy weekend.
Thank you Joy: We are having fun and absolutely fantastic and get well soon, and we'll talk more this weekend.
Hi Petra: first time and I can do it more times, haha. Quite nice and luxurious. Have a nice weekend.
BP: We had some servants with us who took care of the ghosts and cooked the food so it was good, haha. There were 7 of us in the hotel so we were almost alone. Quite ok and I can probably get used to it:-). Have a cosy evening.
4000mil: We haven't been to Hong Kong but we take your word for it. must have been something special. We will continue our experiences a little more before we get home. Have a good time.
Znogge: Just the right attitude! It's Friday and you're happy. I like that, so keep it up all weekend.
Ruth in Virginia: fantastic and it just keeps going. we have found a gem in central Europe and the city is called Olomouc, pronounced Olomont. A really great city with culture, history, 25,000 students in music and culture, great pubs, great places to eat and wonderful people. Sometimes gems pop up where you didn't expect them. Helena will write more tomorrow. Hugs Peter.
Maggan and Ingemar. Haha, it can go anyway with wine tasting, but how nice. It was probably the only thing missing at the castle. Oh by the way .... It didn't matter because it was absolutely wonderful. Take care of yourselves.
Matts Torebring: It's not something we forget and castles are something special. we got rid of our castle, so it was time to move into a new one. very special to experience and a great joy. Have a nice weekend Matts.
