Ok, here we go and that's Peter behind the bottles. Last Friday, I was at the photo, food and wine fair in Stockholm, looking for something fun. I started on the photo page because there was one thing that interested me there.
The new 360 video camera from Nikon, which can film from the front and back at the same time. Two 180-degree lenses from two directions and that add it together during playback. Now you can see what's happening behind you or with VR glasses, the future is here and it's super cool. Then I got thirsty. TO THE WINES!
wondering if you can tell I'm drooling
Various wines, whisky, cognac, champagne, sausages, cheeses, biscuits and more. I started at the checkout to buy myself a glass and then drink vouchers as everyone has to do. I also had press credentials so I expected a little extra. The fair has withdrawn everything for free for journalists a couple of years ago because they got too drunk, haha. It can't have been a nice sight and I understand them.
Let's go!
The fair is very good with many different exhibitors with everything from baking, sweets, cooking classes, wine tastings. I stumbled upon some new kinds of biscuits with Västerbotten cheese in them and damn how good they were. Then I ended up at different wine exhibitors from several different countries.
When you stand and talk as a journalist for a while, they want you to try, so the drink vouchers never arrived. Then it was whiskey, cognac, mulled wine and more wine. Njuu must have enjoyed it, haha.
Good wine fair in Stockholm
Without lunch and lots of alcohol, it goes by quickly. Delicacies should be eaten here! In with sweets, biscuits, sausages, cheeses from each stall and an Irish Coffee on it, and so you got in shape again for new wine varieties. What fun you can have yourself sometimes... Walking around and tasting all the good, and new products that are on the market I think is a highlight. If you have not done this before, it is really worth a visit.
I have a weakness for mouldy cheese and wine. What are your weaknesses?
Husis blog says:
What wonderful "adventures" you get to have, travelling, fairs etc. This fair had a fun mix of cameras and then food and drink. My one owner who is interested in technology became curious about the camera with double lenses, it would have been something...?

What a fair with a fun mix! I can imagine that visits there will be long and enjoyable. Have a good time and enjoy!

Nice to go to fairs and taste both!

The food fair looked delicious. And the drinks.
I like cheese and wine and preferably, very preferably mould cheese 😀 it can be on a gingerbread cake for mulled wine too.
Understand that it is not the same as going to Falbygdens Ost and tasting.

Will try chorizo/hallomi, great tips!

Mr Steve says:
Wow, so many goodies. I could have easily spent a whole day there.
Moldy cheese and wine are also part of my palette of weaknesses, as well as whisky, Calvados, Västerbotten cheese, halloumi, etc. Yes, the list goes on.

Ama de casa says:
So... Those Västerbotten things looked really good, I love that cheese! Maybe because I come from Västerbotten? Haha!
I wouldn't say no to sausages and halloumi either. Or mould cheese and wine... When I think about it, there's not much I'd say no to when it comes to food... 🙂 .
One of my "weaknesses" is that I love the tapas marathon that they organise here in town once or twice a year. Last time 57 restaurants participated and for 2 - 2,50 euros you get a tapa and a glass of wine or beer. A perfect form of exercise if you ask me 😀 And on Thursday, the 14th one starts. I haven't missed a single one 😀.

What a great day! It is really so wonderful to "just float around" and try both this and that...

Photo, food and wine!!! It's like a whole child's egg - 3 good things at once!!!! I have a weakness for chevre and the best wine to go with it is actually a Sancerre! Recommended!

The photo fair seemed exciting and I've been there before at some point.
And the food and wine fair seemed perfect. But a bit of a shame that you have to buy vouchers to get the goodies.
I usually go to different countries' wine fairs and then you pay a ticket, get vouchers that rarely need to be left and can then taste food and drink. Not both entrance and voucher purchase.
There seemed to be a lot of good things to taste and I would have liked to have been there. (Was in the past when it was called something with "Food and kitchen").
I like most foods and am particularly fond of fresh lobster and champagne, but green cheese with port wine is also a hit.
Nice to have two such fruitful fairs on the same day.

Nice to combine both fairs. Oh so many good things to try
French cheeses.... !!! The worse they stink, the better they taste. And preferably a Fitou with it.

What would life be without cheese, we sometimes say. We eat all kinds of cheese, more or less anyway. A glass of wine with it, we don't say no thanks to hihihi.

Can't help but laugh here. Have we really been to the same fair? Yes, we have - obviously, as I also posted pictures from there. Here you beat me by a mile by the way - as far as the photos are concerned, yes drinks too;-) Razor sharp pictures. Praise - considering your alcohol intake:-)
Having worked at a newspaper, I know that press accreditation has a lot of advantages, and you don't even have to pay for admission. It's just a matter of taking advantage of it, that's for sure!
I'm sooooo boring and fussy about food and drink (others say) so my weaknesses are very "limited", but I love Halloumi and white wine, and a Brooklyn or Corona beer after an AW.

Wow, what a party, what a party!
I love cheese in all forms. Unfortunately, there is no
many delicatessens, where you can buy cheese,
that are not pre-packaged. Green cheese and cheese
with paprika (spicy) on WASA bread, the only thing
hard bread I have found around here.
Likes robust red wines; shiraz, pinot noire, etc.
together with brie. Italian salami 🙂

Wine, cheese and charcuterie yummy
I am also in Bordeaux now.

Peter Bergström says:
I finally have time to read all your lovely posts. I have a list that is about a metre long, to do every day. Good thing I don't work, phew.
Husisblogg: Of course it is fun with everything we do but there is always a lack of money for ourselves. Video 360 is available from some today and the big ones are Nikon and Samsung. This will be in every home in a few years, and I will write about it a little later. I think the future is very interesting and I am equipped.
Inga Magnusson: I think you should go next year and just enjoy and preferably both Saturday and Sunday.
Hi Lennart: Just eat lunch, haha. It will definitely make things easier.
Geddfish: I haven't been there so it goes on my list. Lots to do before your ears fall off.
Solan: I really liked the sausage with halloumi and it's completely new. Probably goes just as well with beer as wine. Say hello to the old man:-)
Steve: Haha, I'm with you all the way. God, there are so many good things to eat. Every meal is a celebration. Yep, that's it.
Ama de Casa: That was almost mean. We have eaten tapas several times for 2.5 euros with a Cava and I love it, but several times a year. Now I'm going to enjoy extra much of the Västerbotten cheese and think of you, haha. I'll post photos of me enjoying it, and that's it.

Peter Bergström says:
Hi Marina: It is a luxury to be able to do this, and we are struggling to get somewhere. This is what we want to do full time, but it's not easy but it's a lot of fun.
Globertrottelisa: Hi there:-) Chevré is also fantastic and some camera equipment always goes down well, haha. Glad you write. Hugs.
Ditte: Now you've brought up two real treats so I'm drooling again. I understand that the fairs are easier in other countries because we northerners tend to drink a little too much. It just doesn't look good at the fairs.
Across the board. You are absolutely right. When the cat leaves, you know the cheese is perfect, and it should almost float down on the bread:-)
Joy: I think a lot of people in older age enjoy cheese and wine. Maybe we have wrong taste buds or we have developed them. I take the latter:-)
Nils-Åke: I have lots more photos but the site can't handle everything, so I had to choose.
Thank you BP. I tried throughout the fair to only use the macro lens to play around. After what I heard from you now, it turned out well:-) Of course, there was a lot of extra because there was pressure and I take advantage of it of course, haha. Today there is a huge amount of beer that has wonderful flavours, and I do not say no to fried halloumi and a good beer.
Haha Petra: You know I was fine, but see you next year then?
Ruth in Virginia: What a wonderful and good way everyone writes. I feel through the lines how good both you and I think this is. Poor people living in the land of no flavours. Europe is really good at producing products that have personality. You should have an Italian somewhere so you can indulge yourself Ruth. Otherwise, check IKEA for good cheeses.
Haha Rico: I understand a little too well and I'm glad you don't write anymore, so you sit there and enjoy because there are many who want to trade with you. I do not want to change because I thrive when it is 2 degrees, raw, rain and dark. Nice to get a little change:-(.

Matts Torebring says:
When I bought my last camera, the Canon EOS 70D, the Seagull said to me, "Will you use the 5% for all that the camera can do"? That's not a nice thing to say and I hope it's not true. Of course there is a lot of technology. Not all of it is needed.
15 November 2016 - 22:01
Peter Bergström says:
Matts Torebring: I agree but maybe to 20%. I certainly don't use the full potential of the camera but we don't do that with the brain either. Getting good photos requires its technology and it costs, then we add with 50% how the photos should be taken and when. difficult that.
