Writing about the weather is pretty boring, but this weather is so extremely unpleasant that you need to write about it. Snowy rain thundering in at high speed from the side. Could it get much worse? Of course, it's cold and dark too. We amuse ourselves by working ... and waiting for news of a broken motorhome.
We work hard
We are mostly working all the time at the moment. I'm working full time at Karolinska Institutet right now, with a government assignment that takes a huge amount of time, but has to be completed within a certain time period. I have an assistant and yesterday we panic-hired another one for a few weeks, haha.
I have enough work to keep me going, but apparently I'm not satisfied. I've taken on extra jobs both marking exams for another university and lecturing. Probably because you want to say yes to everything when you don't have a permanent job ... Peter also works around the clock, especially with blog collaborations, travel planning and future business ideas. We have our hands full, so to speak!
... and still have a broken down motorhome
The motorhome remains in the workshop in Kristinehamn after the incident on the motorway. We have called, of course, but they haven't had time to look at it yet. They are apparently busy with tyre changes now, so we just have to wait ...
We don't intend to use it again this year, but we would like to put it in winter storage before it gets really cold. And of course we want to know what's wrong!
Cosy in the houseboat
Fortunately, we are cosy in the houseboat. There has been a lot of north wind, which means that it is rocking, but at least we are warm and cosy. We have switched on the heating cable that keeps the water in and out thawed and if we want we can light the stove. But it has to get even colder first, otherwise it will be too hot in here ... What does November look like for you?
Lena - good for the soul says:
Wow, it really sounds like you are busy! Just take it easy and listen to your body 😉.

Jenn - forever abroad says:
That you at least have it rocking and cosy in the houseboat, always something! As mentioned in the blog last night, I also feel that I don't want to complain about the weather but can't help it, it's so tangible.
However, we woke up to giant white ground here in Helsinki today - and damn where it lights up, a bit lovely. Especially nice since I'm blogging from home today and don't have to go outside the door if I don't want to 😉.

admin says:
Lena, that's just it, I don't know if we're always so good at it ... 😉 ....
Jenn, but what about it? Talking about weather sounds so boring, but how can you not talk about this weather??? White ground sounds nice anyway, better that than slush!
Lennart, yes, but isn't it? 😉

It's nice that work is going on, even if it's a bit too much at times. Hope Freedom gets repaired soon and that you do not get seasick 😉.

Ama de casa says:
I hope you will hear about Freedom soon. Not fun to go and wait. Although you certainly don't seem to be twiddling your thumbs in the meantime... 😉.
We had a tiny (really tiny) fireplace in our little house we had. When we burned in it, we had to open the doors and windows, because boy was it efficient! Talk about making a fire for the crows - literally 😀.
PS: I don't understand why everyone is complaining about November? I think it has been super nice so far... 😉.

It looks so cosy in your houseboat 🙂.
You manage to blog even though you work so much... where do you get the energy from?

Deciree says:
Luckily you can unwind in your nice houseboat from time to time? Take care of yourself and do not stress yourself. Hugs

November could well be cancelled!

admin says:
Well, we hope we don't have to wait too long for news about the campervan ...
Ama de casa, yes, it is absolutely incredible how hot it gets when you burn in the stove. So cruelly effective! It should preferably be 20 degrees below zero for us to be able to make a fire 😉 And haha, I suspect that November is a little more cosy in your latitudes 😉.
Anita, yes, I sometimes wonder that too 😉 Most of the time I still experience blogging in the evening as my best time of the day, as a positive and relaxing moment 🙂.
Deciree, yes it is cosy here. Will practise the thing about not stressing 😉.

You seem to have a great time in the houseboat anyway. Here November feels more like a transport route... Take care!

Husis blog says:
Sounds like you have fun/nice jobs but a busy time, so take care of yourselves.
November feels like a long stretch for the owners to get through before it becomes Advent and a bit more cosy again.
I hope you get an update on how FREEDOM is doing soon.

Goatfish says:
How lucky that there is a paid job anyway 😀 you can't live on love and air 😀.
It's easy to take on too much, too. That's what I do, and I don't even make any money from it. But now, now I'm sleeping a little...
Waiting for something to be fixed, and preferably everything should be fixed NOW.
Enjoy the warmth of the houseboat! ♥

I hope they get the car fixed again...

Ditte says:
I traded Stockholm for sun and a nice summer in Spain and it feels successful. We will stay here for a while and have some shorter trips within Spain planned.
I'll be doing some travelling at the end of November, which is great fun.
It is easy to work too much, but as long as you feel good about it, there is no problem, but it is easy for the "ball" to roll too fast.
I hope you will soon know the state of "Freedom" and that it can be fixed without too much intervention.
Sending some sun and warmth.

BabsanoKent says:
As a pensioner we work as little as possible, I get tired just thinking about work. Otherwise, the weather is the same here in Sundbyholm and we like to sit inside and cosy up in our caravan where we live permanently, when we are not raking leaves and defying the weather with long walks... In the evenings I spend time on genealogy, when we are not talking about our upcoming trip south with the motorhome, which will be in early January. Preferably over a glass of good wine from Spain or Portugal...That's pretty much how we have it in Sundbyholm...

admin says:
Shetland woman, yes, but we have! And sometimes it's even more cosy to cuddle inside when it's horrible outside 😉.
Husisblog, yes, but that's how it is. Fun and interesting, but hectic. Surely it gets a little cosier when there is snow and advent lights!
Geddfish, no that's the way it is, love doesn't pay the bills 😉.
Ann-Sofie and Lennart, thank you for your comment! We hope we will soon get an answer about the car.
Ditte, just the right time to be in Spain instead of Sweden! Exciting with travel jobs! 🙂
Babsanokent. it sounds cosy to sit inside and cuddle in the caravan! Genealogy sounds nice too, my dad did that a lot. and so wonderful to have an upcoming trip south to look forward to! 🙂

I understand that as a freelancer it feels necessary to take the jobs that come, but think about listening to your body, you Helena is only human and also needs rest.
The weather yes, yes I came into the subject when I thought of your motorhome ... with the weather you have there in 08a country, I understand that the workshop prioritises tire changes and that FREEDOM will have to wait, however, I hope you will be informed in the near future and that you then have the opportunity to put the motorhome in storage.
Have a nice Thursday and you Peter, I am waiting and looking forward to tomorrow and the continuation of your life 🙂.
03 November 2016 - 12:21
BP says:
Can think that Peter's job seems much more fun and less demanding than your work right now. But in general, it is actually much more fun to be able to work 120 than 75 per cent, I think.
I hope the Freedom will soon be back in good health. If I remember correctly, it had no winter tyres. So maybe he will have to stay in the workshop until next spring - winter storage it is called;-)
Hate this weather and really just want to hibernate until March;-)

Hard work work! Luckily you get to go to the Christmas market soon anyway! Hope you get news about Freedom soon and that it is not too sad!

Annika says:
Yes, wow, you have a lot to do! I hope you can take it easy between rounds too. Indeed.
Snowy rain and strong winds are NOT nice.
I'm not going to tell you how hot we are, shut up 😉.
But you know I'm still a bit jealous, yes.
The houseboat looks extremely nice and cosy. You don't get cold there, do you?
COOL that you have some Christmas markets to look forward to. Wish I could also write about such, hihi!!!
Love them!
Keeping all fingers crossed that Freedom is soon "healthy" and home.
Have a good day in the rush!

Right now I'm not looking forward to returning to Sweden, actually, and that's only because of the weather 🙂 We're doing a bit of prolonged ink sickness instead, perfect for the autumn holidays (y) 🙂 .
With hope for improvement on the motorhome front and some really great blog collaboration, I wish you a nice Thursday <3

Anette says:
Here, on the contrary, things are getting better. The rain is letting up and cooler winds are moving in.
In spring and early summer I am so jealous of those of you in Sweden, now I am quite happy to be here.
Don't forget to get some rest too, you are working very hard.
Hugs

Now you've sent your November weather here, but that's what we could expect! You've got the hedge so full, you probably don't realise it's November outside. Hope you get Freedom sorted out soon!
The Caribbean and Florida did not happen but hope that our noses will soon be turned to the east! 🙂

Åsa in Åsele, what you say is so wise, but it's not always easy to think that way. I do not know when I have work and not, and then it is difficult to say no ... But of course you need to rest sometimes! And Peter is working on tomorrow's post 😉.
BP, well he has a pretty fun job right now, but mine brings in more money so to speak 😉.
Alexandra, haha, Peter is working on his post now 😉.
Annika, we try to find small gaps to take it easy, but it's not easy .... But yesterday we actually saw a film and it felt luxurious! Not often we sit in front of the TV 😉 Other climate sounds wonderful!!!
Linnea, haha, it is not possible to long for this weather!? Real winter, however, I can like that! 🙂
Anette, that sounds nice! I spring and summer is nice in Sweden. Right now it is ... like that 😉 .
Veiken, so very sad that your trip did not happen!!!! But do you have other plans going on now? Sounds interesting!
Rolle o Carina, well what to do ... Hope we get an answer about FREEDOM soon!

Elisabeth, Gran Canaria sounds wonderful. Have a great time!
The campervan internship, yes, there will be some energy with new trips! Funny that you want to "follow along"!
Emma sun as sun, haha, yes I understand that November is a much more pleasant month with you! 😉
Matts, yes indeed! Maybe you wouldn't appreciate spring and summer as much if you didn't have all the seasons.

Mr Steve says:
You don't have to get tired of going to the boring 7-5 job anyway.
The top picture today really has a November chill to it, but the second picture is all the more cosy.
Let's hope it works out so that FREEDOM can go into hibernation.

What a great houseboat!!! But so sad with your motorhome, hope it will be solved soon! November yes ... not a favourite month exactly. I will work a lot - just as well!

Motorhome Helge says:
Yes, work is fun, but don't let it get the better of you! You also have to enjoy the "time" even if it's November weather. Life does not repeat itself!
Relax and enjoy now that it's almost time for you to do some Christmas market travelling? ? ⛄️ ? ?️ ? ?

Mr Lars Permelin says:
Even though I don't work in the traditional sense, I'm also busy during the day. In recent days I have spent a lot of time on the winter storage of the motorhome. All the work is interrupted several times a day as I walk the dog. In addition, I have started grazing the books that I have on the pile and intend to read later. Now that I'm up and running, I think November will be a short month.

The motorhome Helge, it's so wise as you say, even if we're not always good at following it 😉 We'll make sure to enjoy the Christmas market trips!
Lars, yes often you find things to fill the time with even when you are not working! Sounds nice with a "reading month" ðŸ™'
Marina, feel free to share with us! 🙂

Although we are in Spain, we complain about cold evenings, 12-13 gr. Luckily the days are warmer when the sun is shining. I hope that the trip to Gävle gives results and that you will soon find out what is wrong with FREEDOM.
