When I woke up yesterday morning, I had a waiting text message on my mobile phone: "Believe it or not. We are in Stockholm. Are you free and want to meet?" No, I am not free - on the contrary, I am working quite a lot right now - but we wanted to meet! We simply asked if our friends wanted to come for dinner in the houseboat in the evening after work. And they did!
A long time ago
We got in touch with Frankie & Co (as they call themselves because they drive a Frankia motorhome) many years ago through our blog. We talked both on the blog and by email, and eventually we actually met up, specifically in May 2012 at Sandvik's campsite in Linköping.
We had a really nice evening that time with good food and lots of talking. Since then we've kept in touch from time to time, but we haven't seen each other. Until last night!
Nice to have an unexpected visit
Isn't it nice when you don't have to plan so far in advance, but can just see this straight up and down! It didn't feel like it was four years ago (or almost five!).
Once again, we had a super nice evening with lots of laughter and talk about motorhome life and accommodation and life and I don't know everything. Maybe you also have the roads past our marina at some point? Do not hesitate to send us a message and check if we happen to be home! Spontaneous is fun!
Otherwise, it's everyday life for us now. I'm busy with an assignment that needs to be completed in a short time and Peter, as usual, has a lot of projects going on that he manages from home. We would like to have some free time, but it seems that we have to devote ourselves to relaxation such as films, books and such in some other life ... Do you work or are you free in the middle days?

It's great to have spontaneous meetings and I'm glad you managed to do it.
Looks nice and cheerful
We have just returned from the sun and heat in Thailand and I have some travel work now. In a minute. Jet lagged for sure, but at least I'm up in the morning.
Ohc after New Year we'll see what happens- . Always something!

What fun with an unexpected visit! And a little extra fun with blog friends, I think. It's like another dimension in that friendship, or how I should express myself.
Sandvik's campsite is one of our favourites. We didn't have time to visit many campsites during our caravan time, but we liked it a little extra.

Frankie & Co says:
The funniest thing was that it was WE who got to carry out the spontaneous visit - that we were also treated to home cooking was the icing on the cake and in good company in the super nice houseboat!
Thank you very much for a great evening - live well and have a good time, good campers!

Lennart, right?
Ditte, welcome home to Sweden! What exciting travelling job are you going to do now?
Lena, glad you have been to that particular campsite and liked it! I remember it as green and nice!
Frankie & Co, thank you for a great evening!!! Very nice to meet again! 🙂

Mr Steve says:
I don't like spontaneous visits these days. Mostly because I no longer have the same control over everything. Today, I am used to preparing myself for days when I will be involved in something outside of everyday routines. This may seem like a bad thing, but it has also brought the good thing that I try to make even the routine more pleasurable.
I have realised that you like spontaneity, as you have often shown that you are able to take things in stride and make something good out of the unexpected.
Beautiful view you have from the houseboat. It looks so neat and tidy in your marina. This is of course a prerequisite for such an existence to work.

Fun with spontaneous visits, when it is still possible to control a little in time to suit. What a wonderful picture of the marina you offer! Have a good time!

Goatfish says:
The first picture of the marina is just SO wonderfully sunny and delicate, like a whole colour palette, it makes me happy! 😀
Spontaneous can be fun, but not everyone likes it, I'm probably a bit slow, haha.
All good!

You're spontaneous too, so you know that:-)
It's always good to see friends you click with!
Good luck now with finalising the report. No debauchery on New Year's Eve I guess;-)

So nice to have an unplanned visit with friends where the chemistry is right. Many times it is easier to meet so in private and with no expectations. Is usually the best and more fun reunion!!! So nice view from your boat place. Good continuation?

Steve, too spontaneous things can also be hard for me sometimes actually (at least if I'm tired and have a lot to do) but I think this kind of short notice is nice 🙂.
Elisabeth, glad you like the picture! It's our daily view, but I took it one day when the light was nice.
Geddfish, glad you like the picture! And as I answered Steve above, I also like a bit of advance notice on things, but it's nice not to have to plan everything months in advance, I think 😉.
Katta, nice to have visitors! 🙂
BP, of course we will float out on New Year's Eve! 😉 The report will not be ready until January, but there is a lot left so I'm trying to be efficient during the holidays 😉.
Biggeros, your comment went to spam for some reason, but now I have approved it! Wishing you a good continuation and a Happy New Year!

It's fun, but it doesn't happen very often. Everybody is so self-absorbed, so you don't dare.

If I met you in the super market, I would immediately
invite you home, either pizza or spaghetti and salad
with ice cream for dessert. Breakfast is also a great meal
to offer like that without a plan.
Wonderful view from your houseboat. Would also like to say that I
really liked your Christmas header. Also like your new year bowl !!! 🙂
Wishing you a great 2017 with good health - the most important thing - and...
success with your plans and dreams. Always looking forward to
"FREEDOM" blog. Hugs!

Rolle and Carina, some of us have to work 😉 Have fun and wish you a happy new year!!!
Matts, how boring it sounds, that everyone is self-absorbed ... but maybe that's the case?
Gun, wishing you a Happy New Year too!
Ruth in Virginia, oh it would be super nice to be invited to your house for spaghetti and ice cream! 🙂 We have made a new header for the new year ... let's see if you like... Wishing you a happy new year!!!

Of course, it is fun when it is spontaneous, but you still have some time for possible preparations. How did the job in Gävle go, Helena?

admin says:
Across the board, thank you for asking! The process in Gävle is slow, so I don't know anything yet. On 24 Jan, the experts will meet and then it will go up to the rector... Before that, I probably have time to be informed about another job I applied for...
