Flights to Warsaw
We flew from Stockholm to Warsaw last night with LOT Polish Airlines. It was a small and slightly noisy aircraft, but the flight went quickly and smoothly. We arrived in the capital of Poland, which has just over 3 million inhabitants if you count the entire metropolitan area.
I haven't been here since I travelled by train at the age of 18, and I can't say I remember much. So it will be interesting to discover this city again! Since we arrived late in the evening, we have not had time to see much more than our hotel and the impressive Palace of Culture, which we see from the hotel.
Hotel Polonia Palace in Poland
As soon as you see the Polonia Palace hotel from the outside, you realise that this is a fine hotel, and you won't be disappointed when you enter the lobby either. In addition to making the lobby feel like a beautiful courtyard, they have decorated it for Christmas. really neat.
Here is some information about the hotel:
- Family-friendly 4-star hotel with 206 rooms (non-smoking) overlooking Warsaw, and a welcoming beautiful lobby. Modern soundproofed rooms with heating systems, free wifi, safes, and benefit from private bathrooms. The luxury hotel Polonia Palace is one of the oldest in Warsaw, dating back to 1913.
- The hotel offers a luxurious jazz bar called Bojangels, a fitness centre (open 24 hours), continental breakfast and two restaurants 50 metres from the hotel called Mala Gruzja and Restauracja Strauss. Babysitting services are also available at the hotel.
- The Polonia Palace is located 10 minutes from the airport and it is not expensive to take a taxi. The hotel is centrally located with the nearest metro station a few minutes away. Walking distance to the Old Town, Palace of Culture and Science, Parade Square, Lazienki Park and the large shopping centre. The hotel is located in the Srodmiescie neighbourhood of Warsaw.
The room is fresh, WiFi works great and you are offered a welcome drink in the bar when you arrive. Great then! Feel free to check out hotel website if you want to know more. Today, we're going out on the town to see what's going on - and of course to find out what the Christmas markets are like in this town. We'll be back with a report!

How nice to have another city and experience.
And it's a short journey, so you can put up with some noise and less comfort.
You have been travelling a lot lately and there is a lot to take in. But of course very funny! Rejoice with you.
Looking forward to more from Warsaw, a city I've only basically passed through, having spent three days there in my youth when I travelled by train.
Happy Saturday!

Ditte, totally agree about the flight. This trip was so short and smooth, so comfort is not so important. Unfortunately, it is raining today, but we still hope to have a good experience of Warsaw.
Eva, haha, then you are probably supposed to go to Poland later! 😉 We like Krakow, Gdansk and Gdynia, now we will see what we think of the capital 😉.
Petra, Poland is a nice country. We have been here several times before, but in other places. We will return with a report on Warsaw!
Evy Knoph, how many cool concerts you find!!!!

Imagine how much there is in the "neighbourhood" of the owners' Sweden and how little they have seen of it. They have made several trips to Thailand, America and other long and semi-long journeys but have hardly been to the neighbouring countries.
It was good that they got me because now they have at least seen Sweden because they had hardly been above Stockholm before.

My father was a DXer (radio listener Worldwide) was invited to Warsaw and was the first black person (post-war) to take part in a radio programme in 1952 which the family sat at home in Malmö and listened to. His guided tour gave both terrible and positive memories of what they showed him around the city! A large group of press when he landed after a few days at Bulltofta Malmö. As a child you didn't realise how big it was!
