Today, we're sharing some dreams. Here are five great motorhome destinations, in no particular order. If you're also travelling by motorhome, which destinations do you long to return to or dream of?

Dreams of travelling with a motorhome
Now it's really cold and chilly outside! I walk to and from work every day, and Peter has actually started walking with me in the morning to also get some everyday exercise. It's nice to walk along the waterfront, but it's freezing cold!
We're talking and dreaming about taking the campervan out again. Here are five great destinations for travelling with a motorhome (or without, for that matter):
1. France
High mountains and deep valleys, castles and fortresses, friendly people and great food. Plenty of nice campsites and also lots of convenient caravan sites, where you often pay for the electricity and water you use. What else can you do but long to go back? Read our travel tips for France and our list of Pitches and campsites in France.
2) Albania
Stunningly beautiful uncrowded beaches, towering mountains and genuinely friendly and generous people. Tourism is relatively new in Albania and prices are extremely low. The campsites and pitches are basic, but nowhere else have we been so warmly and personally welcomed! Please read our travel tips for Albania and our list of Pitches and campsites in Albania.
3) Croatia
Crystal clear green-blue sea, charming little medieval villages and mighty national parks with cascading waterfalls. Plus, there are so many islands off the long coastline that it's almost impossible to get 'ready'. Croatia is popular with campers and there are plenty of great campsites here. Read our travel tips for Croatia and our list of Pitches and campsites in Croatia.
4. poland
Sandy beaches that seem endless, beautiful towns with historic sights and delicious home cooking. Poland is just a ferry ride away and prices are about half of what they are in Sweden. There are also plenty of campsites, so it's easy to travel here with a motorhome. Read our travel tips for Poland and our list of Pitches and campsites in Poland.
5. Corsica
Dramatically steep and winding coastal roads, beautiful little sandy beaches with crystal clear water and cosy outdoor restaurants where you can eat mussels with French fries. Corsica is one of the most beautiful destinations we've visited with a motorhome and there are also plenty of campsites. Please read our travel tips for Corsica and our list of Pitches and campsites in Corsica.

Spain, I say!
We love Spain in winter, perfect climate.
Sweden is just the best in spring/summer!
Would never leave Sweden in the spring!

Nice places 🙂 Me it is important not to go through any tunnel when you have a catamaran on the roof...so it doesn't get crushed:))) In any case, keep an eye on the heights...but luckily you did it:)

Lennart, agree that Spain has a good climate in winter! We chose to spend the coldest months in Spain and Portugal for that very reason!
Deciree, very true!!! We probably wouldn't have wanted to ride around for too long with the catamaran on the roof... but we just took the ferry to Gdansk and drove to a village along the coast and off we went. And yes, we kept a close eye on heights everywhere 😉.

Laungedoc-Russilion in France and CostaBrava in Spain. I'm looking forward to this now because it was so cold!!!! France for the sake of good food and Spain because there we have found some fantastically beautiful bays and beaches. But in a few months we are on our way 😀.

Even though I don't travel by motorhome, I can feel that a trip to Corsica again is tempting. France is always France and I am particularly fond of Normandy and Brittany. Albania would be an interesting destination and I have not been there. Right now we are facing a pleasant spring in Spain with daytime temperatures between +16 and +22 which is a good start. Admittedly, February can be windy but it is always possible to find shelter.

Ama de casa says:
Yes, now we have not travelled with a motorhome, but with a tent car. Yes, with tents in the car that we then had to build up on site 🙂
France was then our absolute favourite country. Campsites everywhere, fantastic and varied nature, and the food... And even though we haven't motorised there, we have still houseboated five times in this fantastic country! Minus the language. They speak very strangely... 😉.

I know that I got very hungry for Albania when you wrote about it during your trip, although it may be without a motorhome, but still ... One of many destinations you have advertised very well!

Maggan and Ingemar says:
I can't wait to get back to Greece and Morocco. If you go to Greece, there will be a number of countries, which you have already listed, that we pass through. Wintering is perhaps best in Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

Great retrospective.
Now I'm just waiting for Wales too!!!!

Anette Åhnbrink says:
Wonderful destinations all! And for myself, I would love to go to Corsica! Otherwise, you know that Greece is our favourite??? But as someone said: you go through a lot of countries on the way there! Whether you choose to be in the direction of Albania or Serbia, and we are starting to appreciate the trip there with all the wonderful stops in different places more than we have done before! Found a small autocamp at the bottom of Croatia at Molunat, before the border with Montenegro, where we could probably have stayed the whole holiday?

It can't be easy for you to pick five favourites from all your travels. I have visited "the five" with FREEDOMtravel and know that they are real highlights. Albania is the more fun upstart.
It sounds really nice to be able to walk to work. An excellent way to both get started and unwind.

Birgitta in Umeå says:
Now we are not "kept" by motorhome, but I follow you on your journeys.
And I have really decided that we must go to Albania. You wrote so wonderfully about that country. The beautiful nature and the nice. nice people.
We go to Greece several times a year and have met many Albanians who work there. They are very service orientated, nice to talk to and very "work hungry". I ask them a lot about their country and they become very interested in telling me about beautiful Albania. Like many in Greece, they work seasonally and go home during the low season.

Thanks for the travel tips, France being the most interesting for us. Very good and luxurious with the pictures of the sites.

So even though I don't have a motorhome, I really like your travel tips. France and Poland are clearly two of my own favourites. And we are very fond of Spain as well:-)
Fun with joint walks, but not in this cold. But on the other hand, it is said that there is no bad weather, only bad clothes;-)

Husis blog says:
Good tips and I will probably visit France at some point. The owners' dream is also that I should get Greece but they say that then they must have a little extra holiday. Then I also like Germany and see all the cosy villages / cities that I usually only get to see from the Autobahn. The times I have passed into the villages / cities, both I and the owners have been "saved" by what they have seen.

Across the board, great to have a journey to look forward to!!!
Liniztravel, Albania is definitely worth a visit! 🙂
Ditte, what lovely temperatures you have! A far cry from our temperatures, so to speak!
Ama de casa, can only agree! France is beautiful and the food is amazing! I actually like the "strange" language in France. My school French doesn't go very far, but the rustling R's feel very natural for an exile like me 😉.
Marina, we became very fond of Albania, so it is automatic that you write positively about it!
Maggan and Ingemar, when it comes to wintering, I can understand the choice of Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Good climate there in winter!
Lena in Wales, we would love to go there! 🙂
Anette, I have understood from you that Greece is a wonderful destination with a motorhome! But fun that you also appreciate the places on the way there! 🙂 Corsica is highly recommended!
Steve, it was actually not easy to pick five favourites ... there are certainly more to choose from! Albania was fun because it was a pleasant surprise.
Birgitta, how nice that you met many Albanians in Greece and that you got a positive impression of them! We also experienced that they very much want tourists, it is of course important for their economy, but they also felt genuinely hospitable and happy to show off their country. We will lecture on Albania at the Caravan Stockholm fair and plan to record the lecture and post it on Youtube.
Lars Permeln, France is a very nice and beautiful country to travel with a motorhome!
BP, yes we have some common favourites I think! We like Spain too, even though it didn't make the list of favourites here. And as for the weather, my biggest problem is how to dress to protect your face...!? 😉
Husisblog, Greece is quite far to go, so I understand what the owners mean. We have only seen very little of northern Greece, so we can not say much about it. I can agree that there are incredibly cosy little towns in Germany, and there we have a lot left to explore!

Ooh, lovely and enticing destination tips! Even for those of us not travelling by motorhome...
We thought about travelling to Corsica this summer, it looks so beautiful there! But it seemed both expensive and complicated to get there. We have limited time for travelling this summer so we thought we would fly there, and rent a car on site because we like to look around. But it was as I said very complicated, and very expensive ... so it became another destination instead. But maybe another time, when we have more time and can drive a car and take a ferry?!?

Marianne - Glimpses of the world says:
It's really sour and cold in Oslo now too!
Among the destinations mentioned here, I have yet to experience Croatia and Corsica, and I would like to visit both. But I'm not travelling with a motorhome, then 🙂 .

France and Les Campsites are hard to beat. We'll go there until we've visited them all.

Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
Croatia really appeals, but it feels like it will have to wait a couple of years until I can also enjoy the 52-week holiday of the pensioners. France's Atlantic coast and northern Italy, including Cinque Terre, are places we have enjoyed in the motorhome. Britt -Marie Lundgren

Ninnie, sorry it was so expensive to get to Corsica! We took the ferry from Nice and it wasn't too dangerous. We didn't find Corsica cheap, but not very expensive either. But we lived on campsites (in the low season) and mostly cooked our own food in the motorhome, so we kept the costs down ... 😉 Hope you have a nice trip where you are going instead (where?) and that you can get away to Corsica some other time!
Marianne, these are great destinations, no matter how you travel! 🙂
Matts, I hope you still have a bunch to look forward to!?
Britt-Marie, it's always nice to have something to look forward to! 🙂

Motorhome Helge says:
If you leave the Autobahn in Germany, you can find fantastic small towns and villages that make you lyrical. Not to mention Austria!
Why not the whole of Europe just to choose, I don't think you will be disappointed.

The motorhome Helge, yes Germany really has a lot to offer! Especially the Autobahn is not so charming (but good when you have to move fast ;)).
