Yesterday we had a really intense and fun day at Caravan Stockholm, the motorhome fair in Kista. It started with a lecture on stage at 11:00. Then we had lunch with motorhome friends, talked to even more friends and acquaintances, watched David Batra, tried to get some time to stand at our table (it went like that) and tried to look around the fair (it also went like that).
Lecture on Albania and Macedonia
A lot of people came to our lecture about travelling with a motorhome in the Albania and Macedoniaand it was great fun. Some in the audience were friends, many were complete strangers, and a whole bunch were readers that we had "talked" to online, but had never met in person. We were able to talk to some of you before and after the lecture, but we really wish we had even more time!!!
How did the lecture go? Well, you might have to ask others about that. In any case, we thought it was fun, and many came up with relevant and good questions afterwards. If you're wondering what Peter is doing in the picture below, it's simply that he's ... changing clothes - from fine clothes to a campervan outfit - on stage! You never know what will happen when you're dealing with us... 😉.
If you also want to see us speak, come by the stage at the fair on Sunday at 13:00. We'll be talking about travelling by motorhome in Corsica and Sardinia.
Entertainment with David Batra
In the afternoon, David Batra entertained us. He joked about everything from car holidays and parents to what it is like to be married to a politician. Very funny and many laughs, even though I have heard some of the jokes before.
Meeting with motorhome friends
The most fun thing about motorhome fairs is of course all the friends you meet! We met many friends yesterday and can't mention them all, but some of the most fun to see again were Dessan and Kjell, with the blog Everyday glitter and Yvonne and Jacob, with the blog JoY together.
Dessan also had a gift for us! So very sweet that we almost started crying a little bit just before we were about to speak. She has a machine that she can print with and had made us each a mug, with "FREEDOMtravel" on one side and each name on the other side. Our new favourite tea cups! Thank you so much!
JoY says:
Thank you once again for a good interesting lecture that makes us want to travel there. Not this year though ... Peter, a fun unexpected change on stage? Very nice to meet you.
Hugs JoY

JoY, very nice to meet you! 😉 And glad you enjoyed the lecture!
Husbilen Helge, I think she mostly makes things as a hobby and gifts. But you can of course check out her blog Vardags-Glitter and ask! 🙂
Kate, it would be great to see you! Feel free to shout if you see us! 🙂
Lena, these occasions when many people with the same interest meet are always great fun!

You lectured super good friends. Then that Peter had a change of clothes was so fun ? Very interesting to listen to your journey and what you advised. It was super fun to meet again. Funny that you were so happy about my mugs ... a memory of us just. Hugs to you

Joyful and professional in sharing your experiences. It's great to meet you in real life. It will be even more fun to share your experiences and tips. And there were many fine motorhomes at the fair.

Ama de casa says:
WOW! What a great and personalised gift! 🙂
Haha! Now that you have shown Peter's naked shock here on the blog, there will surely be EVEN more at your next lecture 😀.
Still looking forward to seeing the lecture here on the blog. In fact, after that little preview, I'm looking forward to it even more 😉.

Dessan, so much fun to meet again! And yes, when you get a personalised gift with a thought behind it, it makes you happy. In addition, there will be nice themed mugs! 🙂 We hear and see you!
Kjell, glad you liked our lecture! And that you made it to it! See you soon!
Lennart, we hope we can come to Elmia too! Not quite easy to get time for everything though when you work 😉.
Seija, great to finally see you for real!!! Would have liked to talk to everyone longer. Wow how time went fast! 😉
Ama de casa, haha, I have received some suggestions that it's my turn to strip next time ... but I have NOT promised that 😉.
Nils-Åke, always fun with all the friends you meet at events like this 🙂 .

Goatfish says:
Oh, what nice mugs! So personal and cute 😀
Many people collect mugs too. We didn't, but we did treat ourselves to a couple from Nysted Havn on southern Lolland in Denmark. It was our favourite campsite and the sun was always shining there. Right now the mugs contain pencils 😀.
Saturday hug ?

Mr Steve says:
Including that daring change of clothes in your lecture is sure to spread the word and attract more people to future events in which you participate. That "little extra" usually has a good impact. I take it for granted that your lecture was captivating, interesting and instructive.

Nice mugs, nice to have such a personalised gift that is also useful.
I have seen some pictures from the fair in BP's blog.
I'm going to catch up now as I haven't visited your blog for a couple of days.

How nice to have a lecture from you, I wish I was there!
Fun mugs!

Ditte says:
I'm glad the lecture was good and I would have liked to listen but I can only be in one place at a time. I will also miss Sunday's lecture. Humour in a lecture context is always a good thing and I think you had a lot of that too, mixed with your fine experiences and tips. I have heard David Batra in a few contexts and laughing is liberating.
It's great that so many people came to listen to you and many "new" people. Wonderful!
Lovely mugs and a great gift. Very thoughtful!

It sounds like you are having a great time. I'm almost a little jealous of not being there, but we will have a nice time in Jakobsberg at the birthday party instead.

It is unfortunately a bit far to travel to visit you...... 😉 I would be surprised if your lecture was not super... Good luck with the rest of the fair!

Matts Torebring says:
What fun you must have! Imagine being able to talk about what you love most of all, holidays and motorhoming. The difficult thing is usually to keep the time. Have a good time at the fair. But I don't understand how you have time for everything?
18 February 2017 - 16:11
BP says:
It's obvious that you had fun! When I see the comments, I realise that the audience appreciated your talk. Oh what a great audience you had. Many congratulations.
The change of clothes was really fun - that little extra that makes all the difference.
Keep your fingers crossed that things go just as well for you tomorrow!
The mugs are soooooo cool!

Geddfish, it sounds like you have great memories of your favourite campsite! Wishing you a great weekend!
Steve, hehe, the clothing change came up as an idea that felt like fun, so we hope it was received in the right way 😉.
Åsa in Åsele, I have also seen BP's report. So much fun to see how the fair is experienced with different eyes, what you notice etc!
Lena in Wales, understand that it was a bit far for you to come...! 😉
Ditte, as you know, you can't be in more than one place at the same time! 😉 I myself like lectures that mix humour and information or insights, but then you have to get it right yourself ...
Across the board, hope you enjoy the birthday party! We're actually also going to a birthday party tonight (Peter's son's wife), but it can't be too late because we have to get up tomorrow ...
Veiken, thank you! Yes, maybe a bit too far to go and listen to us, haha... 😉 ...
Matts, it can be a bit difficult with the time when you talk about something you like, so I'm a bit fussy about that. I usually check the clock from time to time... 😉 And how do we have time? No, I do not know ... But I had to take a holiday day last Friday from my job.
BP, yes we actually had fun! Hope it goes well tomorrow (Sunday) too. Do not know how many people are at the fair then in the afternoon, but we will see ...
Christine, haha, I can understand that it wasn't easy to understand .. 😉.
