Every week in 2016, we presented "Guest of the Week", with eight curious questions to different people who had something interesting to tell us in relation to travel, adventure and/or camping. There were a total of 46 interesting guests and today we have made a brief summary - and compiled all the answers to question number eight: "What is your dream destination?".
Reading about all these exciting destinations makes me want to go travelling. Is your dream destination included, or where do you dream of travelling?

Have a nice Sunday! I will continue to wrestle with about a million moving boxes and get everything in place in my new apartment!

Great summary!

Matts Torebring says:
Wow, what a compilation! I didn't have time to read it all now. But it is enough to quote Peter Blomqvist: This kind of travelling (motorhome) beats all kinds of charter trips by a long shot!

Ninny says:
Oh, so much to read! Funny, have saved several of them to be able to read more later. Fun to get inspiration for my own travels, and interesting to read about places and countries that I will probably never visit. I've always wanted to travel Africa, go on safari, and go to Zanzibar, also dream of coming to South America, Easter Island has fascinated me since I read a book set there when I was a teenager... The United States also attracts of course, a large country that you have always seen a lot from via TV, film and literature.... New Zealand... oh... there are so many places if you just had time and money...!
05 February 2017 - 9:10
Ama de casa says:
Wow... So many wonderful places there are!
My dream destination is and remains Ullared, and Anders wants to go to the moon. Since both of our goals are rather utopian (for my part if I want Anders on the trip 😉 ), I must say that New Zealand and Japan attract. Among other things 🙂
05 February 2017 - 9:29
4000mil says:
Wow, so many dreams at the same time!
Some types of Rome you think, just do it...?
My dream destinations right now: Bhutan, Reunion, Peru, Socotra.
05 February 2017 - 9:40
Johnny Friskilä says:
And soon it's off to Central Asia again. But before that it will be South America. Otherwise, it's fun with the compilation and all the interviews, especially with those who may not write as much from their travels. Then you just get even more curious!

Lena, good luck with the move!
Matts, but really? Travelling by motorhome is special 🙂 .
Ninnie, there are many places to dream about, and just dreaming is nice sometimes! Maybe some dreams can be realised, and others stay as dreams ...
Ama de casa, haha, it feels like Ullared should be a bit easier to implement than the moon, but ok, New Zealand and Japan are not bad!
4000 miles, some dream destinations are much easier to achieve than others, absolutely. Exciting dream destinations on your list!
Johnny, it's great to follow all your travels around the world! 🙂 I'm also glad that you appreciated our compilation!

Ditte says:
What nice lists and fun to see a summary. There are so many travel destinations! My dream destinations are included and they are Antarctica, South Georgia and Japan to begin with. But there are more.

What a lovely post and great mix of people you had based on your categories!

Marianne - Glimpses of the world says:
So many exciting and travel-loving people you have interviewed! Nice summary, and so many interesting dream destinations. I have already visited many, but even more remain. Antarctica is probably at the top of my list, but I also dream of Easter Island, Socotra, Greenland, New Zealand, Patagonia, Canada, Mongolia, South Sea islands in the Pacific... In other words, mostly places with beautiful and magnificent nature.
But I also have many other travel dreams, for example, I haven't had enough of Africa after 11 visits to that continent, and right now I'm mostly dreaming of Rwanda, Uganda, Ghana, Benin and Ethiopia. Other places I dream about are Cuba, Colombia, Bolivia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Jordan... Yes, I could go on listing many countries, but I'll stop now. Haha. Ask me about travel dreams and I can apparently write a whole dissertation 😀.
The first trip I have planned is to a country that is not really among the countries I have dreamed of travelling to, namely Oman. But now that I have read a lot and seen many pictures from there, I am more and more convinced that it will be a wonderful dream trip.

BP says:
What an ambitious compilation. It must have taken several days to complete. Unbelievable!
I do not like long journeys, but if I did, Japan is number 1. Otherwise, I am childishly fond of Spain and also like Portugal,

City Lover Reser / Dita says:
So many exotic dream holidays!
Interestingly, quite a few of them are far away destinations. Is this only the case for those of us who have the great privilege of travelling or for all people? Just a thought....
I have recently (after visiting the beautiful Loire Valley, travelling around the Basque Country and boating in the fjord country of Norway) started to think: "Don't underestimate all the amazing places we have closer to home." There are so many beautiful things to discover without having to travel to the other side of the world.
My dream trips right now are travelling by train in Switzerland, hiking in Cornwall and boating in Portugal. They somehow feel easier to achieve too. But of course I also have long-distance destinations in my travel dreams, such as travelling to Australia to meet my friends there or travelling to Japan and South Korea in the autumn.
Have fun!
Dita

Renate's travels says:
Exciting post! Interesting to see how different travel bloggers and adventurers wish for. 😀 My ultimate dream destination is and will be Easter Island (as I said in the interview), but I also dream a lot about Iran, Greenland, Antarctica, the Pacific Ocean and all the countries and islands there, New Zealand and large parts of Africa (such as the pyramids in Sudan). Oh, how lucky we are to live on such a varied and exciting globe as we do. 😉
05 February 2017 - 15:41
Marita says:
Wow, so much to read there. I've been thinking about travelling to Ireland for a long time, but haven't got round to it. Then Scotland and Tuscany. And yes, there are many little gems to explore ...

Across the board says:
There are many destinations, always! Your excellent compilation shows that. Travelling with the motorhome is very good for me. Of course it would be nice with Hawaii or New Zealand but nothing I'm super keen on right now.

admin says:
Ditte, I find it interesting that so many people choose to mention such an unusual destination as South Georgia!
Helena, yes there were a lot of interviews during the year and I felt they deserved to be highlighted once more!
Ontripdk, glad you enjoyed our list! 🙂
Linda, we got a lot of interesting people and stories together, I think! 🙂
Marianne, there are many countries to dream about! We have made slightly fewer visits to Africa than you (4 I think), but we also want to see more of that continent!!!! Oman sounds exciting! We thought about going there once, but that time it was Kenya instead. Looking forward to reading about Oman with you!
BP, it took a little while... 😉 But I've been wanting to compile all our amazing guests for a long time! Japan is on our wish list too. But of course there are many nice destinations closer to home as well!
Ciy Lover travelling, interesting thoughts you have! Maybe we who travel a lot have more exotic dreams. At the same time, I think it's related to the question itself, ie the word "dream destination" attracts to explore dreams ... and then it can be as exotic as possible (thinking, for example, that some have answered the Moon or Mars!!! ...)) But of course there are interesting destinations close by as well, and you should not underestimate what you have nearby!
Bia, wishing you a great trip to the Canary Islands in May!
Renate's travelling, many of the destinations we dream of are the same! Yes, it is fantastic to live on such a beautiful and exciting planet! I just hope that we humans try to take care of it!!!
Marita, Ireland and Scotland also attract us. There is a lot you want to see in this world!
Across the board, travelling by motorhome is also our favourite! In fact, the first time we tried a motorhome was in New Zealand... and then we were hooked! 😉

Interesting. Would love to go to New Zealand, but don't like travelling that far. Iceland I would like to see. One of the best destinations I've been to is Tel Aviv. Would love to go there again. This summer it will be Rügen/Stralsund a second time. We liked it there.

Mr Steve says:
You just have to pick and choose. I had no idea that South Georgia is a British archipelago in the South Atlantic, but now I do.

Henny says:
I have always dreamed of Nepal and Mongolia. When my husband was going to surprise me with a secret trip for my sixtieth birthday, he revealed that it would go east and I was hoping for one of these countries.
Guess if I was surprised when it was the car journey to the airport in Luleå that went east. The rest was more or less straight west - to the USA.
I hope I was able to keep a straight face.

Gärdsmygen, we would also like to go to Israel and maybe hope for a trip there this year! Rugen and Stralsund we are also keen on now, or maybe Wismar. Iceland is fantastic!!!
Steve, you learn a lot through blogs ... and by interviewing famous people I've noticed (didn't know about South Georgia before either)!
Henny, wow, how strange it was with the surprise trip ... Hope you still had a good trip! We have been to Mongolia and it was an exciting experience. Nepal also sounds fantastically interesting!
