Ok, here we go! This is a Club Swan 50 sailboat and last Sunday one was sold for over 10 million at the boat show Allt för sjön. A guy from Norway came and made a bid! You know, while you're at the boat show, why not, haha. He probably swiped the money right away so the deal was done.
Today we're showing you the finer boats at the 2017 boat show: a sailboat and two motorboats. I also brought my Nikon 360 so you can see what they look like inside the boats. Stay tuned!

Riva
This one was searched for yesterday on the blog but I only found one in a construction model. The company PromeroBoats, which shows its models at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, makes copies of your real boat for a certain number of thousands. "It would be great to have a replica of the FREEDOM boat, but we can do something more fun for seven thousand. Would you like a replica of your boat or motorhome?
Solan says:
Well done, what a beautiful Riva model. Have an older model at home, but in poor condition. Varied and good coverage of the fair, Freedom 🙂.

Peter says:
Thank you Solan! It's not easy to make fun reports with stiff boats, but we try our best. You avoided the entrance fee and got to be at the fair, which is good. I am so longing for sun and warmth in the north right now, and our friends in Valencia Peter & Eva are at the Las Fallas festival and have 26 degrees of heat. Avis? Yep!

Goatfish says:
Million-dollar luxury 😀 and great to look into the wonders with the help of 360.
Well done!
Summer feels far away. The snow plough just chugged past here 😀.

Peter says:
Glad you like the 360 pictures. I don't want more snow now and not getting more warmth and sunshine sucks I think. The older I get the more I want sun all the time. We have to work harder.

Ditte says:
The Riva boats are really real beauties and in the past they were also found at the boat show, but in real size. I have a couple of times on Lake Garda to follow in such and it was a delight.
Swan boats are so beautiful and still "real" boats. . And also a joy to sail. A real boat in my opinion.
Extra fun with a look inside this "swan"!

Peter says:
Finally we get to see everything inside for real and thank God for 360, haha. Now I get a little jealous of the Riva boats and I will probably have to lubricate myself this summer in one of those, here on the Pampas.

Anki says:
Of course they are nice, but I prefer to stay on the land hill. Nice anyway to be able to see the interiors with the help of technology and this without having to go on board 🙂 Thanks for that!

Peter says:
We want to offer experiences that you don't go to yourselves. I'm working on a video about the fair and will try to finish it next week. We will get even better at making reports but it is difficult. Thanks for appreciating what we do Anki.

Lena in Wales says:
10 mille, yes, certainly worth it for the right customer, but nothing for my wallet.
Beautiful boats though!

Peter says:
Then we are in the same boat, haha. I myself would never spend so much on a boat, but if you are a nerd about something, you are, and can afford it. We are slowly moving towards the Wilderness Fair that opens this weekend and it will also be fun.

Mr Steve says:
Speaking of fine and expensive boats, in the early 80s I was approached by a company that had the most expensive boat at the fair that year. I had been given as a reference by a person who had signed a purchase contract for the most expensive boat.
The boat had been equipped for delivery according to the "buyer's" wishes. Bank guarantees had been provided and were also available in Monaco.
At the time, I was head of the prison in Uppsala.
Apparently there was no boat deal in the end.
A strange story to say the least.

Peter says:
What a story! I must say that it went very well. Imagine if you did not have your brain with you that day and how would it have ended then. Now I think you always have your brain with you but they could have gone very wrong. Thank you for sharing your story.

BP says:
Laughing at Steve's comment:-)))))
I always associate such luxury yachts with Antibes, St. Tropez and Monaco. Wonder why;-)
Since you have reported so well from the fair, which we have not visited for many years, we were so inspired that we are thinking of visiting the fair tomorrow or on Friday. There you can see what you "have done".
If we make it to Älvsjö, it will be really fun to see the difference between "then" and "now".

Peter says:
Hello there! I have just picked you up from the rubbish bin and I wonder what you were doing there? next time you write, why don't you stay on the desk:-). I myself thought the same thing, like when we were in Cannes but then these boats were dinghies. I am not at the fair today because there are other things to fix, and I am also going to a meeting with Riga that will offer good food and I do not want to miss it. Friday-Saturday-Sunday are full days at the fair and I'm obviously happy for you to come on Friday, but it's up to you.

JoY says:
Wow what boats! Fun with the 360 films, then we also get to participate in the fair?Jakob has been able to sail a bit, on a Swan, a huge mast and sail area.
Hugs

Peter says:
Thank you for liking the 360! I get a little jealous as I would also like to go on a really big boat. we will see when it happens. Hugs.

Matts Torebring says:
One question remains unanswered and perhaps no one can answer it either?
Whatever marina we go to, there are probably 80-90 % of boats left in the harbours, even on beautiful summer days. So expensive, so beautiful boats, as many of them are, why are they usually in harbour? When are they out sailing? (Your Freedom not included)
08 March 2017 - 18:32
Peter says:
I agree with you Matts. We have neighbours with big boats but they are not even out one month a year. I don't understand anything? Thanks for not counting the FREEDOM, but we use it all year round:-).
08 March 2017 - 21:38
Caroline says:
Yes, there are quite reasonable prices on boats, we saw it when we looked in there last year when we were still at the wilderness fair but quite fun to see.
08 March 2017 - 18:34
Peter says:
Boats are incredibly expensive and if you think about how many hours you use them, they are a luxury product. I love the sea and grew up in the archipelago. When I had a boat as a young man, I almost lived in it, which I think is more appropriate.

Role o Carina says:
Yes, they were not bad little oaks! 🙂
Although we probably prefer the camper van 🙂

Peter says:
Haha, yes, the range of use is quite good with a motorhome, but I want everything, but I have the houseboat and am on the lake all the time and a motorhome. I have it better than what I thought, haha.

Anna, Travel on a Cloud says:
Cool to see these luxury boats! Yes, for some of them a few thousand is small potatoes 😉.
I have neither a boat nor a motorhome. However, I owned a croft for many years and I have a small model of it! Got the model croft as a birthday present from a good friend who made it himself. 🙂
08 March 2017 - 21:13
Anna, Travel on a Cloud says:
It would say neither. 😉 Stupid to use the index finger roller on your mobile phone when you are tired.
08 March 2017 - 21:14
Peter says:
Hello there! It must have been very fun to get a model of your house:-). I obviously want a FREEDOM boat but it is too expensive right now. It's probably time for you with a motorhome soon, haha, between the NY trips.
