We are living everyday life right now. In the mornings we walk together to my job. I spend the whole day at the office, and Peter works at home - right now preparing for the birth. boat show which opens on Saturday. When I get home, dinner is on the table, and then it's time for blogging or maybe an occasional film. Exciting, isn't it?
Haha, we promise we have other things going on in the future! For now, you can have a look inside our houseboat FREEDOM. Peter has taken 360 pictures with Nikon Keymission inside the houseboat, so you can move around inside the rooms in the pictures.
Lower deck
On the lower deck we have our largest room. Here we have our bed, our exercise room and our walk-in closet. From the large room on the lower deck you can also go into our boiler room, where you have to be a maximum of 160 cm tall to stand up straight. The engine used to be here, but now there's space for the sewage pump, water heater, washing machine and some clothes and gadgets.
Move around the image by spinning around with the mouse button (if you're using a computer) or by moving your phone back and forth (if you're using a mobile phone). Unfortunately, iPads still seem to have some difficulty with the 360 format, and if you're watching on an iPad, please let us know if it works!
Kitchen
When you enter the front door, you come almost straight into the kitchen, which is located as a half floor, between the lower deck and the living room. The kitchen is quite small, but here is most of what we need, kitchen equipment, dishwasher, some cabinets (with emphasis on little) and a dining table for four, which if necessary can be folded out so you can sit six people around it.
Living room
Half a floor up from the kitchen is our living room. Here we have no less than eleven windows and views in all directions. We also have a patio door so we can go out on deck. Peter also has his desk here, where he sits in front of the computer.

Houseboat is cosy 🙂 And fun to be able to take photos in 360!

Aila says:
You have everything in a small space. Very nicely decorated. Wonderful with so many windows. Didn't think the boat had so many.
I'm so jealous of your houseboat...

Helena says:
Nature is closer than when we lived in an apartment. I like that 🙂

åsa in åsele says:
I don't know if it sounds silly... but I think it looks bigger than I expected, not at all crowded and compressed.
Love your living room with all the windows.
01 March 2017 - 7:42
Helena says:
It's not that crowded, but many people think so. The bathroom is indeed small 😉
01 March 2017 - 14:21
åsa in åsele says:
If you make an economic comparison, if you had an apartment... like 2 rooms and a kitchen, as central as your houseboat is located, is it more expensive, cheaper or about the same cost houseboat - apartment?
In a houseboat you have a completely different freedom than in an apartment,
It must be nice to live like that... at least in summer.
01 March 2017 - 7:48
Helena says:
It is difficult to compare. Per month, the houseboat might be cheaper. But it requires more maintenance. When you have to lift and repaint the hull, etc. it can be a big expense all at once.

Across the board says:
You have it very nice. Fun to look around!
01 March 2017 - 7:57
Helena says:
Thank you very much! We have worked a lot on it, but now we like it!

Goatfish says:
It feels like I visit you from time to time, have seen pictures from the boat before 😀 and looking in 360 is great! 😀
Hugs and have a nice first day of March! 😀
01 March 2017 - 8:13
Goatfish says:
Checked my iPad now after an update, and Yes! now I could see in 360 even there! 😀
01 March 2017 - 9:16
Helena says:
Great that it works on the toad after updates! Wishing you a nice first day of spring!!!
01 March 2017 - 14:30
Ditte says:
It's great to see how well you have achieved everything in a fairly small area, it's a bit like "compact living" but you don't need such large areas.
And it is bright in the boat with all the windows. Fun to see in 360 and it worked really well on my MacBook.
(I've tried a look earlier to look as Peter posted with 360 degrees and it has also worked well on my MacBook.)
01 March 2017 - 8:58
Helena says:
We who lived in a motorhome for a whole year think the space is more than enough! 😉 (Even if the bathroom is small.)

Cool pictures from a cool accommodation 🙂

Lena in Wales says:
Even I got it to work. When I read that you could rotate the image, I immediately thought that it will never work for me, but see it did and then it must be a good and simple system. Just got to see a little extra of the roof now and then!
Thank you for the house tour and was very impressed with your lovely living room.
01 March 2017 - 11:34
Helena says:
Great to hear that the technology works! Yes, we enjoy the view in the living room 🙂 .

Dryden - Traveller's Edition says:
Does not work at all in IE that I am running right now. Damn nice that I have already been to your home and seen it in both 360°, IRL and everything! 🙂
01 March 2017 - 12:03
Helena says:
Feeling untechnical now, but what is IE...? Luckily, it works to look around IRL 😉.
01 March 2017 - 15:45
Dryden - Traveller's Edition says:
Internet Explorer. Run the 11 at work, old rubbish that you don't need to worry about. 🙂

BP says:
You live soooooooo nice like that:-) What you do in the evenings is about the same as I do - it's called an ordinary Svensson life... if it wasn't for the houseboat then;-)
01 March 2017 - 12:46
Helena says:
You have to try a little (semi-)ordinary Svensson life sometimes 😉.
01 March 2017 - 15:46
Monet says:
I have a brand new IpadPro and the pictures do not work in it. On the contrary, I get problems of various kinds when I have been on your site and tried. Could be a coincidence but .....?
01 March 2017 - 14:16
Helena says:
A few others have reported problems with iPads in particular, when it comes to reading 360 images. But now it seems that more and more iPads can do it too. But maybe not all? Or is it just a small update that needs to be downloaded?
01 March 2017 - 15:49
Mr Steve says:
How delicious!
Bold colours on the lower deck and cool wall coverings in the kitchen.
The living room is a dream with views in all directions.
It must be a nice feeling to be able to create/decorate completely according to your own head. I think you have succeeded very well.
Thanks for the tour!
01 March 2017 - 14:24
Helena says:
Glad you like it! On the lower deck we used flooring to cover the walls. Then we mixed in some modern stuff even though it's an old boat 😉.

Husis blog says:
What a lovely accommodation! The owner particularly liked all the windows with their wonderful views and the fireplace. The owner says that the stove in their home gives both good warmth and high cosiness factor.
01 March 2017 - 18:43
Helena says:
A fireplace is cosy! We can only use it when it is very cold outside, because it gives a lot of heat 😉.

Solan says:
Yes, now I have been at home in the Freedombåten. Great lighting on the lower deck, cool wallpaper in the kitchen.... And best of all, the proximity to the water. Say hello to Mr Häger from us, currently in Àgulias with the rolling home!
01 March 2017 - 19:14
Helena says:
You have to come here for real on occasion too! 🙂 Hope you have a nice time down south in your rolling home!!!

Matts Torebring says:
I know from previous pictures that you have a very nice and cosy time in the boat. But! Sorry, but now I'm a little reluctant. I've tried several times to see the 360 pictures, but to no avail. Tonight it took fifteen minutes to forcefully close all the programmes to move on. My MacBook is probably four years old and too old. Thinking about buying a new one in the future.
01 March 2017 - 19:32
Helena says:
Wow, that sounds annoying! Four years is not that old for a computer (ours is much older), but could there be updates on it that need to be done?

Fia says:
Hi!!! I followed your long interesting motorhome trip, fun, as we also motorhome around Europe in the summers for 20 years (friend with Ditte and Bosse). But this was something else! So nice houseboat and so cool to turn the iPhone and see your spaces almost Irl! Fun to see, impressed!
01 March 2017 - 20:21
Helena says:
Hi Fia! How nice that you write! Funny that you liked the 360 pictures from our houseboat 🙂.

Hello Helena and Peter.
Works very well with "desktop HP pavilion D4000" a so called municipal computer. Purchased in 2005. It also works well on a portable laptop HP Compaq 6710b from 2008. It was purchased about 2 years ago for the easy price of 500 SEK. Both 2 are actually "Windows XP" computers from the beginning but are now running Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The portable 15.4 we always have with us when we are out on the road with LOKE our dear Kabe Travel Master. In addition, we usually have an HP mini 210 Windows 7 computer in reserve that we run directly in memory with 1st USB Data Traveler 16 GB containing Simplicity Linux Mini 16.07. PS: Finally, I just want to add that those who use "Mac Computers" are probably people who usually do not know how to play "KUBB". DS: No, joking aside, you can use what you think works best, but it is not certain that the most expensive is best. So also in the choice of motorhome or boat.
Regards Jan and Maj.

FUN to see!!!
Yes, it looks cosy. I would probably like to live like that myself, I think.
The living room is gold!
Worked great for me to see the images via my macbook pro which is almost three years old.
