We have now had time to try two different good hotels in Tallinn, Estonia. The first night we stayed at an exclusive and brand new hotel, where we won a night, and the following two nights we stayed at a colourful hotel near the Old Town. Here is a small review of two great hotels in Tallinn, Estonia. Don't forget to also check out Peter's films from the hotels! Which one would you choose? Do you have more good hotel tips in Tallinn?
Exclusive spa hotel in Tallinn
The first night we stayed at Hilton Tallinn Park. This hotel was completed only ten months ago, and it really feels like everything is new. We stayed in an executive room, and have also filmed in the hotel's second most beautiful suite!
- Location and viewsGood location with a short walk to the Old Town. Great view from our room on the 10th floor!
- Rooms and bedsSpacious, exclusive and yet cosy, with really comfortable beds. For once, plenty of electrical outlets!
- Bathroom: Large, modern, top-of-the-range bathroom.
- WiFi: Works quickly everywhere and is included in the price.
- breakfast: Large and good breakfast buffet where you can get omelettes to order.
- Other services: Gym, SPA baths (top picture), SPA treatments, lounge with coffee and snacks for those staying in the more luxurious rooms and a large casino.
Colourful good hotel in Tallinn, Estonia
The next two nights we stayed at the hotel Estoria, located just outside the gate to the Old Town. The name "Estoria" is a mix of "Estonia" and "stories" and each room has its own story to tell about Estonia.
- Location and viewsReally good location just outside the Old Town. Great view of the Old Town from our room on the 8th floor.
- Rooms and beds: Spacious and colourful, and comfortable beds.
- Bathroom: Quite ok bathroom, but nothing special.
- WiFi: Works quickly everywhere and is included in the price.
- breakfast: Large and good breakfast buffet with a wide range of gluten-free and lactose-free options.
- Other servicesLounge with coffee, sweets and water, which was included in our room. The KGB museum is in the same building - and also a large shopping centre!

Glad you liked the films! Peter is still developing this film thing 😉.

Matts Torebring says:
Simply marvellous. Our memory of Tallinn is one of the fantastic hotels we stayed in. However, we send a warning about the taxis. The journey from the harbour to the hotel cost €250, plus we were dropped off in the wrong place, and had to walk over half an hour with heavy bags. The return journey cost only a few €. When I pointed this out, I was told that this is not unusual, and to report it to the Swedish Embassy. We never did that. Enjoy and have a good time!
17 April 2017 - 7:15
Helena says:
Wow, thanks for the warning! We understand that you have to take the white or yellow taxis. We paid about 7 euros for the taxi when we arrived. Actually, we could have walked, because it was not so far ...

Imelda says:
Looks really nice in Tallinn, fun with Peter's films! Nice to hear that you also take time to sleep out, it is sometimes needed. Thanks for letting me join the trip, have never been there so it was fun to read all the posts! Hugs
17 April 2017 - 7:51
Helena says:
Yes, this trip we have both looked around AND rested. Nice 🙂

Goatfish says:
After watching the films, it is clear that I choose the colourful hotel. I was happy about that 😀.
Great photos and film! 😀 ?
17 April 2017 - 9:30
Helena says:
Doesn't colour make you happy? Glad you like our pictures and films! Wishing you a nice Sunday!
17 April 2017 - 9:59
Husis blog says:
Now the owners have been to Tallinn because of your great film...?
The owners had chosen the hotel in the old town to get the best possible feel for Tallinn's atmosphere. When choosing a hotel, the owners often read what others say about the breakfast and how clean it is.
17 April 2017 - 9:47
Helena says:
Location is important, we agree. A good breakfast is never wrong either. It was excellent at both hotels!
17 April 2017 - 10:09
Anette Åhnbrink says:
It almost makes you want to take a hotel weekend? Nice pictures and films! We will put Tallinn on the bucket list!
17 April 2017 - 10:12
Helena says:
Glad you like the pictures and films! Tallinn is worth seeing, and not too far away either 😉.
17 April 2017 - 15:27
Ama de casa says:
I would definitely choose the colourful, central hotel. Too much luxury can make me feel out of place and uncomfortable. But I didn't say no when we were upgraded to a huge apartment in New York 😉.
17 April 2017 - 10:21
Helena says:
I probably also think away too much luxury often, but then when you are offered it is not always wrong 😉 Hilton in Tallinn also felt homely 🙂 .
17 April 2017 - 15:28
Marina says:
I'm pretty sure I would choose colour over luxury.
17 April 2017 - 10:32
Helena says:
Colour makes you feel a bit happy 🙂
17 April 2017 - 15:29
Ditte says:
Hilton and the big chains tend to be very bare but quite similar worldwide so we usually prefer other hotels with more soul. Had chosen Estoria. If you win a night, it's obviously fun to try Hilton but if you leave without winning, it's cool with Hilton.
Nice to have tried both hotels.
Great to see Peter's films.
17 April 2017 - 10:37
Helena says:
We thought that Hilton managed to make it homely and cosy even though it was luxurious, and of course we liked the pool 🙂 But in general I probably agree that it can be nice with personal hotels. Then of course the price comes into play too 😉
17 April 2017 - 15:31
Alexandra says:
I had chosen Hilton, love luxury ? When we were in Cannes at the end of March I and my mum stayed at Carlton and it was really luxury haha. But in the end I often choose according to the price, even if I like luxury, I prefer to travel cheaper and more often than expensive and rarely.
Tallinn is quite small, so most of it is centrally located in a good position. If you like to swim, Tallink SPA and conference is a good hotel, albeit a little worn.
17 April 2017 - 11:07
Helena says:
Haha, wonderful, finally someone who chooses luxury 🙂 A spa hotel of course has its advantages! Then of course you can look for spa in other places with spa also than where you live, but if you just want to swim a little pool, it is nice to have it at the hotel where you live.
17 April 2017 - 15:33
Mr Steve says:
When it comes to hotels, I usually choose hotels with more soul than the "big elephants". But, I will honestly admit that I like to indulge in extra luxury sometimes.
Nice touch with the history writings on the hotel doors.
Peter the Great. I understand that you felt at home.
17 April 2017 - 11:20
Helena says:
We liked both hotels, in different ways. Of course, price is also a factor when choosing a hotel.
17 April 2017 - 15:34
LinizTravel says:
Wow awesome hotels!!! The first with spa I would love to stay at! Many thanks for the pictures! Hugs
17 April 2017 - 16:32
Helena says:
That hotel would suit you, I'm sure 🙂.
17 April 2017 - 18:57
BP says:
Let's put it this way - if I had won a night at the Hilton, I wouldn't have turned it down. But otherwise I would probably have chosen the colourful hotel. I mean the chairs and dressing gowns in my favourite colour - no question about it;-)
17 April 2017 - 17:00
Helena says:
We thought of you when we saw the colours 🙂 .
17 April 2017 - 18:57
Ruth in Virginia says:
I have to say that I find it hard to accept luxury; it doesn't suit me.
for some reason. And BIG bathrooms! Who needs a big bathroom? 🙂
A good breakfast is of course appreciated, but in the days when Don and I were travelling,
breakfast was not common; luckily you could get a cup of coffee.
We often stayed in a room with a family who had signed up at the tourist office.
in the city. Always fun to see what you got. Usually had breakfast with the host. Always tried to meet people on our trips.
17 April 2017 - 18:49
Helena says:
When it comes to luxury, we're kind of like you. It can be fun sometimes, but it's not really our thing. Bathrooms do not have to be so big, but on the other hand, we have a tiny bathroom in the boat (extra small toilet, extra small sink and just on the verge of being able to turn around inside the shower curtain), so a little bigger is nice;). I like breakfast, however, because I am terribly hungry in the mornings. Otherwise, I agree that personal meetings are one of the things that give the most when travelling!
17 April 2017 - 19:00
Ruth in Virginia says:
I can understand that it feels wonderful to be able to turn around.
in the bathroom. 🙂
I am also a breakfast lover; best meal of all.
17 April 2017 - 19:21
Helena says:
Yes, the part about being able to turn around is not so bad 😉 Then the bathroom doesn't have to be huge... And nice to have another breakfast lover 🙂.
17 April 2017 - 22:28
Ann-Louise says:
Difficult choice there, like both luxury and colour 🙂 But I like smaller and personal hotels better than the big chains so I would probably have chosen the colourful hotel.
17 April 2017 - 18:51
Helena says:
We probably think like you most of the time, although it can be nice with luxury sometimes. Especially a little whirlpool 🙂
17 April 2017 - 19:01
Berit 'desires' says:
Great to see the nice films and pictures!
I say like most people here that we feel best in smaller and more personal hotels - but of course it's fun to try luxury at some point (especially when you don't pay yourself...).
17 April 2017 - 19:33
Helena says:
Glad you like the pictures and films! And yes, it's easier to accept luxury when you don't have to pay for it 😉.
17 April 2017 - 22:29
Christine's Stories says:
How nice to have a video tour! Both seemed nice. Also, it is so much cheaper to stay in a hotel there than it is in Sweden.
I like it when it's a mix of personal and a bit luxurious. Large hotel complexes can feel so stiff, but then I am quite comfortable and like when it is a bit exclusive, hehe. But smaller family-owned hotels with a personal touch always go first 🙂.
17 April 2017 - 22:03
Helena says:
Glad you liked the video format! I understand exactly what you mean by wanting it to be a bit personal too. Hilton is big, but at least it had a cosy atmosphere and the staff was nice. We actually did not think that anything was super cheap in Tallinn, but you still get more for the money than what you get in Stockholm.
17 April 2017 - 22:37
Sara says:
oh how lovely!
20 April 2017 - 18:57
Annelie says:
But oh so nice, I didn't think it was in Tallinn.
But, unfortunately not for me, as I am in a wheelchair... 🙁
Thank you for the tour... 🙂
Greetings Annelie
