Here we go again! Things are happening all the time on the market, and I want you to stay up to date. You can't turn off everything that happens around you, because then you might get old, haha. Facebook live - Nokia phone back and SAS new food. Here we go!
Table of contents
Facebook live
Now it is possible to broadcast Facebook with a friend or follower, but first with the iOS App. If you or any of your children/friends think it is fun to broadcast live with something you do, this is very fun I think. Imagine it's a festival in Spain and you have a friend there, so you can talk live and see the pictures at the same time. A bit like a news broadcast and why not have some fun along the way.
Nokia 3310
Nokia 3310 is back! The little phone that sold 126 million copies is back. It costs SEK 560 but there is no data in it and you cannot download apps. What does it have, well Snake that everyone played on that phone, but will this really last. We will see?
New menu on SAS
Now the SAS have woken up and I welcome them to the future. They will start with better food, they say. The new design is unique in the industry and inspired by the take-away culture. Lunch and dinner come packaged in a cube that makes it easy to eat while working, reading or watching a film.
The new menu includes Norwegian fjord salmon, Swedish lamb and Danish veal along with locally grown vegetables and root vegetables from Skags Farm. The main meal is also served with a side dish in the form of a stuffed savoury muffin. The food and drinks are now available on Scandinavian and European flights and are included in the price of SAS Plus and can be purchased in SAS Go.
- We are constantly working to find local producers for a close collaboration, where we can develop our menu together and ensure that we serve ingredients that are in season, whether it's the stone-oven baked bread from Il Fornaio, the asparagus grown at Stenhuse Gård, the handmade chocolate from Hedh Escalante or the potatoes grown at Tollby Gård," says Peter Lawrance, Head chef and meal planner at SAS.
True or false?
It sounds like we are going to the worst restaurant, doesn't it! Who should I believe? I was at the SAS inauguration of the new SAS Neo last autumn and they said that by spring there will be high-speed internet on the planes.
You have to stand for what you do and now we are halfway through the year and I haven't heard that it exists yet. Is SAS going the same way as newspapers and talking a lot of rubbish just to promote itself and gain market share? I want to see results!

Across the board says:
The 3310 was the first phone I had and it was really robust and durable. I'm glad it's back. But I will not buy a new one because I like to be connected. That's why this whole roaming thing is a bit exciting now that we're about to leave.
29 May 2017 - 7:28
Peter says:
I don't think the phone will be a hit, but we'll see. It's important to check how much traffic you can use. They have raised the prices in Sweden for international service and we will get a small amount of roaming included, and the rest we will have to pay for. It will be expensive, I think, unfortunately.

Thank you Natalia! Really great to hear and we do a little bit of everything every Monday.

Nokia 3310 will probably just be a flop 🙂 .
My first "teddy bear" was a Motorola so-called dog leg 🙂 .
Have fun and travel on ......SolKram

Peter says:
I'm in. I don't understand the idea of giving out an old phone. Haha, I remember the great motorola. What a development.

Goatfish says:
Memories, memories...
I have had many mobiles, the first one was a "brick" with a 010 NMT number.
When the Nokia 3310 arrived, I bought a red one and my husband a blue one, so cute, so. But today? A spare phone to make calls with? Costs a subscription too.
Travelling, yes. Today I will go with a friend to a commercial garden, not bad, coffee included 😉 Have a nice day! ?
29 May 2017 - 9:02
Peter says:
Brick with a giant antenna. It couldn't even be stopped anywhere. What a wonderful development. 3310 is dead!

Linda says:
Exciting 😀

Peter says:
Thank you Linda! Glad you like some simple news on Monday. We keep going and a travel blog should have travel news.

Marina says:
Today I was digging out my daughter's first phone...the mother has saved it "just because"...Nostalgia nerd, who am I? No then...or...;)
I also hope that SAS can follow the lead of many other airlines and ditch the plastic cutlery and use real ones.
29 May 2017 - 9:53
Peter says:
Haha, you're sitting on a real one. That's crazy. If I had to choose one thing, it would be chopsticks. I can then eat with one arm and take up less space than spreading out with both elbows.
30 May 2017 - 8:46
Ama de casa says:
My list still includes the Trans-Siberian Railway (which I have no desire to do), hiking and climbing Kilimanjaro (which I have looked at, but have no desire to climb).
The others that are missing are South Africa, Machu Picchu and Antarctica, and I hope to be able to cross these off the bucket list at some point in the future 🙂.
But the biggest question is this:
How come Ullared is not included in that list?
😀
Have a great start to the week!
29 May 2017 - 9:59
Peter says:
Haha! I'm so glad that Ullared is not on the list because we can't go as low as we want. When a store experience becomes as popular as a dream holiday destination, well then the plug goes out. The taste is like the pastry.
30 May 2017 - 8:49
Ditte says:
We still have a couple of old 3310s and in terms of making calls they are perfect and have a battery that lasts a week. Always have one of them with us when travelling. Perfect!
As for SAS, they should probably move up a gear. The food is probably not enough here. For example, they have not renewed agreements with lounges around the world that they do not operate themselves and many people want the convenience of these. Stingy, it seems to me. And if you are going to fly SAS, they must have something that attracts more than the food (it has not been a hit before compared to many other airlines).
Fun with the dream destinations and 1,2,3,4,5 and 9 we have done but I am looking for Alska, Antarctica / Easter Island, by boat around Cape Horn and on to South Georgia. Also Galapagos, Borneo and Costa Rica are included. And you can dream.
I believe that ignorance and knowledge are compatible.
Have a nice week!

Peter says:
We were talking to Georgia yesterday and we are very welcome to go there when we want to go on a press trip. It's just leave that we can't get together with Helena. Fantastic that you still have a 3310 and use it as an emergency, wow! SAS has a lot to work with but they have to deliver too.

Emma, sun like sun? says:
My first mobile phone was a Philips Fizz, a beautiful blue sparkle. Then I had a Nokia 3330, it was good too. I also liked the Motorola I had after that. Sony Ericson, no! But I have loved my Nokias in recent years! So it's worth knowing that there are also new pure Nokia phones that can do a bit more than the 3310.
We flew with SAS last summer and my parents have also done so. In relation to Norwegian, they were better - both in terms of price and food - so we have nothing to cook on. But it is smart if they think about the food because those trays are hopeless! It feels like everything goes flying as soon as you do something. Admittedly, that's what I want to do if I'm sitting in an aeroplane, but I don't want the food in my lap.
29 May 2017 - 11:06
Peter says:
Hello Emma! Like many others, I have had a Nokia. I also had the little silver one that you pushed the cover down on and I loved it. Most people have gone through the 3310 but a new one, no not for me.
I think SAS new Neo is very comfortable and I don't find it fun to fly with Norwegian or Ryan Air. Sometimes of the price I do it anyway. Thank you for writing so well.

Annette says:
I really, really want to road trip through the USA again. We have driven through fourteen states in the USA, once from California via Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico to Texas. An incredibly delicious route with really delicious 18-wheelers and fantastic environment and nature. The second time we travelled from Florida around the east coast up to New York. The coolest was South Carolina, where I long to return. I was sceptical about the USA and thought it was like that commercial from a long time ago: "I like it big", rich and artificial. I thought it was also, in part, but I liked both that and everything else, so there I got an idea that I am happy about 🙂.
The Trans-Siberian railway sounds exciting, as does Australia and New Zealand, I'll click around your site and see if you've written about it.
And speaking of the food at SAS, I hope they introduce the new ideas when we go on a road trip in France this summer, it sounds really good, and smart with the cube.
29 May 2017 - 17:15
Peter says:
Maybe I will change my mind one day. I am very uninterested in the USA because there are so many more exciting countries that come before. The closest I come to longing is Alaska. Roadtrip in France I want to do. France became a real favourite in Europe after three months in the country. A lot of people said they would be grumpy because they didn't speak the language, but it was the opposite for us. They are so friendly at all ages and there is so much to see and do in this wonderful country. As for SAS, they should have already started with the food, but how it tastes is a new chapter. Nice that you write and it is appreciated.

Matts Torebring says:
Many Nokia models came and went. One model that I can still miss today, was the Nokia 9310 Communicator. It was probably ahead of its time, in order to make a general breakthrough in the early 2000s.
29 May 2017 - 18:00
Peter says:
Nokia was so huge and what you have to realise is how quickly things can go wrong. No company should be safe in digitalisation. Anything can disappear in a year. I think Nokia is putting its money into nanotechnology and will come back together with Microsoft.

I'm not involved in any of this now, so I don't think so either.

I love your honesty Steve. All said and done!

Better food and a cube would really help. It is so annoying that you kind of throw the food because the workbooks do not fit on the table, haha.
29 May 2017 - 20:06
Peter says:
Right Julia. I'm really hoping for an increase in quality at SAS. The cubes are great and I like to eat with chopsticks and an arm.

BP says:
3310 I had once upon a time - cool! I think it's great that Nokia makes some retro variants. I mean, car manufacturers do this all the time (Mini Cooper, Fiat 500 and more), so why not Nokia. I actually think that many older people who only use their mobile phone as a phone will buy one. In addition, it is cheap.
We have been boycotting SAS for some years now, as they had forgotten to bring enough food and drink for the travellers. Even those who had ordered food got nothing to eat. This is irresponsible. It may actually be that there are diabetics on board....
Wifi on board - yes, Norwegian was the first to offer it. But it rarely works as it should. Most recently, the wifi was dead on the down and home journey. Bad I think.
29 May 2017 - 20:38
Peter says:
Jadu BP! It's nice to have a retro man in this group. I don't think it will be a hit. They give it out for the game and wear everything for that, well, it probably won't last all the way.
The new SAS Neo is a very nice and good plane and I like it. It's up to SAS to fulfil its promises, and very soon.

Husis blog says:
The owner's first phone was a Nokia 2110 with a retractable antenna, then he also had landline phones on the buses he drove and if he wanted to take it with him there was also a big bag that came with it. At that time, the minute prices were not so cheap so there were quick calls, but he is not so happy to talk on the phone so for that matter it was better in the past...???
29 May 2017 - 21:02
Peter says:
I also had such a bag when I was very young. What a way to carry it around, haha. Fantastic that we find some things that were better because otherwise I usually say that nothing was better in the past in technology. Funny point of view.
