Saturday and guest blog with Elisabeth Haug
Now is the last thing to be done here at home before the trip. We have had time to plan a lot this year and made some improvements to the car. It feels like we are compensating for what we didn't get to do last year. Last year we didn't have time to do much. We packed clothes and passports, then went out. It went well too 🙂 As long as we have all the papers belonging to the car, passports and visa cards, we can complete the rest during the journey.
Now we are so longing to go. To be completely free for 6 weeks and just do what we feel like. This week I bought a whole bag of books that I want to read. Wonderful.
Table of contents
Last minute change
A ferry would be booked for the return journey between Riga and Stockholm but I changed my mind, 4500 SEK for a trip. No thanks, I booked Ventspils, Latvia - Nynäshamn instead of 2800. A bonus was that I started to check out the city of Ventspils, it looks very nice.
Nice beach, nice town and a campsite close to both beach, town and harbour. Booked two nights there to breathe out and enjoy the last before we come home to Sweden again. It will be exciting to cycle around and explore the city.
Bella spruced up and ready
Of course, we have different things that we think are important in our family 🙂 The husband has spent a lot of time getting the "right" lighting in the car. Tinkerbell and Poppys are apparently what you should have. Now he is very happy and feels that "Bella" is ready for travel.
Craft corner in place
Got the high chair we bought, hope it will be good and that Elias will be cosy in his craft corner in the back. I took the opportunity to buy an extension for the car belt. You know the one you have to stop the belt in, it sits so far down when using a child seat, would have to be an elite gymnast to tighten the belt without strangling Elias. Not anymore! 🙂
First planned stop
Of course we will stop and sleep a few times before but the first planned long stop will be Legoland in Germany. Legoland is located near Munich. The plan is that we leave Åkersberga on Saturday and will be in Legoland around Wednesday.
Puttgarden-Legoland = 84 miles. We take the A7 via Hamburg and Hannover downwards. Dear Kasselbackers, here we come. From what I hear, Legoland Germany should be as good as in Denmark and the campsite should be nice. It will be exciting to see if it is true. 🙂
Next time I write, we are on our way, then we have hopefully been to Legoland and are on our way down to PAG in Croatia. Wish us good luck.
See you in a week 🙂

We wish you a good trip down and hope you have as nice a trip as we had last year. A little tip: On Google maps you can add the route as you drive. Then you can share the link to the map with us. Our route down last year: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1808iPnQ65jLNIBshaBYRGNaliGc
Drive carefully!

Mr Frank Olsen says:
Here you have a small manual (for PC):
The first thing to do is to log in to 'my maps' on Google; you must have a Google account yes:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/
Here you have to select "create a new map".
In the new map that appears, there is a search line and 7 small squares below the search line. Click on the square that is second to last, the one with an arrow in it, i.e. no. 6. Then you will see 2 lines for writing place names in the left column called "map without name". When you type places here, Google will give you lots of suggestions. Experiment until you find the right place. When you enter location #2, you'll see that Google draws a line along the road. For the third location and beyond, you need to click "Add destination". The key is to enter enough locations so that the correct road is drawn. Alternatively, you can "hook" the blue line on the map and move it with the mouse pointer. You can enter up to 10 locations, from A to J in each "layer" of the map. When you need more locations, click "add a layer". You can have 100 layers, i.e. 1000 places in one map. Remember to give your map a name at the top. Good luck 🙂

Lovely with a motorhome, good luck on the trip! Can also recommend Playmobil Funpark in southern Germany if the kids like Playmo and you're travelling in that area! http://resfredag.se/playmobil-funpark/
We are driving around Croatia + neighbouring countries now, LOVE being here!

It also looks great there. Fortunately, Elias is "only" 7 years old so we have several good stops to look forward to. Will you go south of Croatia? Would be fun to hear about it:)

Good luck! 🙂
I'm glad you don't have to strangle Elias several times a day now too 😉.
I'm probably a bit off... I didn't realise there was a Legoland in Germany. Had to google, and saw that it was even in California. You learn so much from reading blogs 🙂 .

Hi Ama
Yes, you have to facilitate as much as possible for yourself. 🙂 Next week I will write about how it was in German Legoland so now it will be up to proof. Was in Danish Legoland a couple of years ago and was very happy. 🙂
