Kozlowka is a historic palace in Poland that is definitely worth a visit. The palace is a rococo and neoclassical palace built in the 18th century with an amazing castle park. We also stayed one night at a really cosy campsite with a personal welcome, sauna, lots of animals and a huge shop where you can buy... everything.

From a castle to a palace in Poland
We don't want to drive too long distances at a time. After the visit to Baranów Sandomierski Castle we stopped at a campsite (the triangle on the map), and the next day we visited a new castle.
Kozlowka Palace in Poland
The Palace of Kozlowka in eastern Poland is a large rococo and neoclassical palace built in the first half of the 18th century. The place was owned for a long time by the Zamoyski family, which is why it is also called "Zamoyski palace". We drove to the palace on Wednesday and it turned out we were lucky - on Wednesdays the palace is shown for free!
Guided tour of the palace ... in Polish
The tour of the palace was in Polish, and since the long (surely informative) explanations were not very interesting to us, we lagged behind the group to look at nice details in the rooms and to take pictures. What's not to do for the blog?
But falling behind proved to be a tough task! A stubborn little guard hurried after us and made sure we got into the next room quickly so she could do her job - quickly closing the door behind us. Well, not giving up without a fight? We got a lot of pictures of this very beautiful palace! And yes, there was also a film!
Cosy campsite
We also found the Camping U Kraka in Nałęczów, such a nice place! A campsite with a hotel for everyone and the owner welcomed us personally and told us about everything he had prepared: the barbecue area, the sauna and the "shop that has everything" for example. We are not joking!
Imagine walking through a tiny shop entrance on a campsite and discovering that the rooms inside branch out endlessly. There was really everything: clothes, household items, electrical cables, tools, paint, bikes, tents, toys, food, alcohol, office supplies, sewing supplies, toilet seats...
The campsite also has cats, dogs, chickens, goats, horses and donkeys. Most of the animals were reluctant to approach us, but only one of the goats and one of the horses came to say hello. We like those quirky types who follow their curiosity and ignore peer pressure!

Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
Although castles and palaces are not our first priority when we are travelling, I have to admit that this one with its wonderful garden is probably worth a visit.
What a great campsite! It's so fun to find gems that aren't like everyone else.
Looking forward to posts from the national park.....

They are very good at gardens in this part of Poland! Not only the castles have nice gardens but almost every villa has adopted the same style it seems, but on a smaller scale of course 😉.

Do you have time to rest? It seems to be a very rich trip! Another one is mostly ice cream on the beach 😉 hugs
07 July 2017 - 7:46
Helena says:
Haha, no, we probably don't rest much ... But when Peter drives the car for several hours, he likes to have a stop on the road, so wandering around a palace/castle becomes a rest from driving 😉.

Monet says:
What a beautiful castle and cosy little campsite. For the first time the 360 function worked on my iPad and the film was also very nice with slightly longer clips and calmer music that suits me better. Fun to see this part of the world through your eyes as we will never go there ourselves. There is so much beauty everywhere!
07 July 2017 - 7:46
Helena says:
How nice to hear that the 360 function worked now! And how good that we managed to make a slightly calmer film 🙂 And yes, there is a lot to see around the world! 🙂

You are good at making good presentations. Lovely garden and a good gardener. (where you probably can't kick a ball)
Fun with some different camping and the animals.

Glad you like our presentations! Yes, we liked the campsite, cosy with animals 🙂.

Matts Torebring says:
You just keep coming up with one "castle buffet" and "castle campsites" after another. Unbelievable! We would have liked the last campsite. Just sad that so few guests were there, you want to at least "try" to talk to someone. In this case, I had gone and talked to the animals.
07 July 2017 - 8:13
Helena says:
No, there were not so many people to talk to, haha. But we talked to the owner, who spoke good English. He told us that he works a lot (not surprising perhaps with camping, animals, shop and also guesthouse), and that it was a long time since he was out with the caravan ... but that it has rolled to Croatia on occasion 😉.

Kjell/Dessan says:
Glad you got to take pictures inside. Otherwise, all such places are usually so secret ? Very nice in any case ?
07 July 2017 - 8:24
Helena says:
Sometimes you don't get to take photos (we didn't get to take photos of the cathedral in Krakow, for example), but otherwise we think we mostly got to take photos on this trip, as long as you don't use a flash ...

Ama de casa says:
So you go for castles instead of forts? Smart. They are more comfortable 🙂 Super beautiful even this!
Luckily, some people wanted to say hello anyway. Rattle something in a bucket (so it sounds like pellets) and you might get more attention 😉.
Truly an incredibly cosy campsite!
07 July 2017 - 8:44
Helena says:
Right? No annoying mountains to climb ... 😉 And haha, yes, we will have to practise our animal contacts ... but that pellet thing might not work on bison...? 😉

Ditte says:
There's plenty of time on the journey, but I imagine there won't be many long stops.
It is a beautiful castle and so is the park.
Nice to have a smaller campsite and in "natural" surroundings.
Very nice pictures that now so nicely managed to take.
(As for Krakow Cathedral, in March you could take photos if you paid extra for a 'photo ticket' that you stuck on your body. )
07 July 2017 - 10:13
Helena says:
We are travelling around, so most of the time we only spend one night in each place, occasionally two ... 😉 Castles have been good breaks during longer car journeys ... We missed the part about the photo ticket ... 😉.

Eva - People in the Street says:
Seems to be a super nice place! Haha, how lucky that the goat did not get the idea to stamp a little 😉 However, the horse looked very calm and was probably most interested if you had something good to offer.
07 July 2017 - 10:43
Helena says:
The horse was kind and nice. Probably wouldn't have turned down a carrot, but had to settle for being a photo model 😉.

and gardens every morning. 🙂 Is it the state, which maintains
these massive buildings and incredibly beautiful interiors?
Do they have employees who come and dust the furniture, for example?
Something new in the film I liked - Helena's split-second visage
here and there. Nice touch! - Gee, what horns that goat
wearing the hood! Must weigh a lot.
07 July 2017 - 11:06
Helena says:
Haha, we can't promise castles every day ... 😉 Many of the castles are probably owned by the state, at least this one. It was taken over by the state in the communist era ... And there are all kinds of employees: parking attendants, receptionists, gardeners, guides, cleaners ... Glad you liked the film! 🙂

07 July 2017 - 18:47

BP says:
Superb! Once again a great film that really shows the somewhat opulent castle. Oh what a nice park - wow!!!
The campsite was very nice too. Right now you seem to be alone there, but in August, which is the Polish holiday month, it will probably be full.
07 July 2017 - 20:56
Helena says:
Glad you like the film! And yes, it will be more crowded everywhere in August ... 😉.

It is great that you are going to Poland in the autumn. Where in Poland are you going?
08 July 2017 - 14:00
Marina says:
It is a golf trip with two nights in Poland so we may not have time to see so much more than the golf courses...;) The idea is that we are going to the area of Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia and that we should at least be able to get to Gdansk one evening. It may be that it gives more taste so it is time to make another trip later.
09 July 2017 - 20:46
Helena says:
Fun! But I understand if you do not have time to see so much ... If you have time, Gdansk is a super nice city! Will surely give more flavour 🙂

Maj Ivarsson says:
Fun with all the nice photos, inspirational things-texts about different things to visit and experience, almost so you don't have to go there on your own. However, may be a small trip to Poland later this autumn. We are so close there just to take the ferry, and now we know that it is also easy to bring the motorhome. Movies and 360 function work perfectly with both (Firefox and Chromium browsers) on our old ACER ASPIRE ONE ZG5 that we always have in the car for its flexibility, originally a "Windows XP machine with 120GB hard drive, 1 GB RAM and Intel 1.6 GHz Atom processor" ("Nowadays we run Linux Mint 18.2 XFCE on that computer and it works almost better than when it was new"). We are thinking of acquiring "Telenor Freedom with free calls, sms and mms within Sweden +Surf in EU, Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar at no extra cost as there will be some trips abroad to Europe and Asia this autumn and winter. Regards. Jan o Maj + Loke
