Last Sunday we travelled with Stena Line from Rostock in Germany to Trelleborg in Sweden. None of the ferries that connect Sweden with Germany or Poland are particularly fun, but we have to say that we think Stena Line is slightly better than the others. Now we're home again - and of course we have to tell you about our upcoming travel plans!
Table of contents
Stena Line from Rostock
The journey from Rostock to Trelleborg takes 6.5 hours, and we can't really say that you have fantastic fun on the ferry. If we compare with the other shipping companies, we still think it's a little better. The restaurant (where you pick up things like chicken legs or schnitzel) has extremely strange opening hours (open-close-open-close according to some incomprehensible algorithm) but the food still tastes a little, a little better than on the other boats.
There is also free WiFi. Not that it works all the time, but it works sometimes, and that alone makes this ferry get a higher rating than the others. On this particular trip, we also happened to be lucky with the weather and could sit for several hours and enjoy the sun!
Film from the trip to Wismar
Now Peter has finally managed to finish a film of the Sweden party in Wismarso you can check it out here! There's another one coming soon, so keep an eye out at YouTube!
Home again
Now we are home again! I often notice that people do not think that we work because we spend so much time on the blog and travelling but I (Helena) work full time in Stockholm County Council. An interesting and good job, but we will not talk about that today. We will talk about travelling!
New travel plans
Of course we have new travel plans coming up! In the beginning of September we are going on a week-long cruise in the Mediterranean with the cruise ship "Freedom of the Seas" from Royal Caribbean. We have never gone on a cruise like this before, so it will be very exciting!
Then, for the first time, we will send Peter as a 'lone envoy' on a trip to Cassandra i Greece, together with blogger Christian from Food and travel blog. We have been very little in Greece, so it will be interesting!
There will probably also be some shorter Motorhome travel in SwedenAmong other things, we take the opportunity when I go out into the country and give a lecture. So don't miss out on following our blog during the autumn! You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

New travel plans. Phew! But, I'm hanging in there.
Another good film by Peter. The gunpowder smoke was thick there.

Helena says:
Haha, yes there is always something new on the agenda 😉 And the gunpowder smoke was really dense in the city for a while!

Good job with the film Peter, lots of drama there and your text Helena is as usual super!
23 August 2017 - 7:22
Helena says:
Thank you very much Kenneth! Yes, there was some drama for a while 😉.

Great with new travels :)....
What fun that Peter will go to Kassandra, unfortunately I had to say no due to a conference trip with work ?. Will be fun to follow the trip!

Across the board says:
Nice, but aren't you coming to Elmia this year?
23 August 2017 - 7:25
Helena says:
Unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to come to Elmia this year, although we would like to! The cruise is exactly the same week ... May "keep up" via your other blogs 😉.

Hope you are doing well in Denmark Lina!

Hasse says:
Well, those ferries are not so passenger-friendly, they mostly carry freight. But Stena's is, as I said, slightly better, we agree. Skåne slightly nicer than Mecklemburg. Next weekend we go south with them, towards Croatia.
23 August 2017 - 9:24
Helena says:
Great trip to Croatia!!! Will you go around or do you stay in any special place? Wish you a really nice trip!
23 August 2017 - 12:07
Alexandra says:
I'm wondering, aren't you going to Elmia? :O
23 August 2017 - 10:52
Helena says:
We would really like to go to Elmia, but we can't make it this year .... The cruise is the same week (and also my holiday is over). Are you going there?
23 August 2017 - 12:09
Alexandra says:
I understand, the cruise will be asnajs!!! I am so impressed with those boats, I really want to go one beautiful day too 😀.
Yes we are going to Elmia, but only on Saturday - will check out some camper vans 😉.
23 August 2017 - 12:43
Helena says:
Now it must be time for a campervan for you soon!? ? And yes, cruising will be fun! ?

Dryden - Traveller's Edition says:
Ah, cruise then. Got quite hungry again when we were in Kotor and the ships docked both in the harbour and just a few hundred metres out from the beach in the bay. Will be fun to see the report from there! Gosh, almost four years since I was away on my last (and so far only) cruise. 🙂
23 August 2017 - 11:12
Helena says:
It will be both fun and interesting! 🙂 Where did you tick?
23 August 2017 - 12:11
Annette says:
So fun to follow you on a cruise! Twenty years ago I was on a cruise in the Mediterranean. Very comfortable, and exciting places where the ship docked. Among other things, we went up on Vesuvius and around Pompeii. We are also planning our next trip, and a cruise was one of the ideas. Now I get the chance to evaluate whether it can be something for us 🙂
23 August 2017 - 12:49
Helena says:
Cool with Vesuvius and Pompeii! And yes, we promise to evaluate and document ?
23 August 2017 - 16:07
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
Cruising must be "all the rage" now, because everyone is talking about it. I have once said that as long as I can travel in other ways, they would have to drag me onto such a ship. In any case, it will be fun to keep up with you via the blog (and who knows, you are not worse than you can change... even if it does not feel that way today).
23 August 2017 - 13:11
Helena says:
Yes, I actually think that cruising is a bit "in" ? It will be fun to try! ? I was not in it before either, but have become more and more curious!
23 August 2017 - 16:09
BP says:
Watched the film and was (positively) surprised by two things:
1. the party was attended not only by old enthusiasts but also by younger people.
2. There were a surprisingly large number of girls involved. Great fun!
Will be fun to see how you experience the cruise. Considering Ama has been on a boat for at least 6 weeks now ... Oh hope that wifi is included in the price of your boat. It does not with Ama.
23 August 2017 - 18:36
Husis blog says:
Oh yes, boats are boring moving objects. At least such boats I have always travelled with the owners. But even between Sassnitz and Trelleborg, their wi-fi worked reasonably well.
My female owner would like to go on a cruise, but it has not been suitable in terms of time. Let's see what you think about it then so I can then say this to the owners.

Matts Torebring says:
Wow, what a film, fantastic!
