If you can't come to Catalonia, Catalonia can come to you. This week has been crazy for us, with events after work three days out of five. At two of these meetings, the focus has been on north-eastern Spain, and what could be better when it's cold and dark outside? Here are some pictures from this week's mingle and all the Catalan delicacies we've enjoyed.
Catalonia on Travel Massive
Last Wednesday evening, it was time for the Travel Massive meeting. Travel Massive is an international association for people who work with travel, and in all cities that have local chapters, meetings are arranged from time to time. The cool thing about this is that as a member you can show up at Travel Massive meetings anywhere in the world, if it happens to be convenient.
Travel Massive on Wednesday was organised at the PopHouse, located at the Abba Museum at Djurgården. This time Catalonia was the co-organiser, and what do you get? Catalan picnic food, like pinchos, of course! Very good, and very nice mingle.
Four of us didn't even want to go home when it ended but went to hang out at a bar on Strandvägen. Inspired by southern latitudes, we chose to sit on the glassed-in veranda. With traps, blankets, jackets and infrared heating, it was really cosy ...!
Costa Brava event
On Thursday evening, we continued the Catalonia theme here in Stockholm. Costa Brava, the coastal region in the north-eastern part of Catalonia, hosted an event with culinary delights.
A bunch of lively waiters were constantly running around with new plates and serving things like croquettes with fish stew, truffle cannelloni, mushroom risotto, meat soup and salad with beans and raw cod. This was accompanied by wines from the Empordá wine region and finished with apple pie and Catalan crème brûlée. Need we say that it was fantastic?
Happy Friday
We are happy about all the fun things that have happened this week, but are also quite tired. Hanging out at events every night after long work days takes a lot of energy, haha. Anyway, we have to say that after these culinary experiences, we have become really hungry for travelling to Spain and Catalonia again, where we have not been since our long motorhome trip in 2015.
Tonight we are invited to friends and otherwise we hope to take it easy this weekend. What has been the best part of your week?

My goodness you are socialising and enjoying yourselves, at least one of you is!
Best this week....I'm healthy again, it was a nasty flu this year, hope you avoid it.
17 November 2017 - 8:17
Helena says:
We have actually both mingled, even if it is perhaps mostly Peter who is stuck in the picture 😉 Good that you are healthy, we hope to avoid the flu!

Mr Steve says:
You seem to be having a great time in the travel industry. Lots of exciting people and exciting places. And all the exciting food you get to try.
The best part of this week happens today when I go to my hairdresser for a haircut. It is always just as nice to be freshly cut. Now that D isn't allowed to drive, it's the transport service that applies. A bit sad to not have D as a driver of course, but so good that the possibility of transport service exists.

Travelling and food provide wonderful experiences! I also have to cut my hair ... had to ask Peter to cut off the worst tonight, haha. And after all, it is good that the transport service exists!

What fun events you have been to but understand that the energy can run out even with you.
Was so happy when I read that it was about Catalonia. Right now we are celebrating "Happy Friday" as we sit in the car on the way to our good friends in Uppsala. We spent some lovely days with them last October when we hiked the Costa Brava and also did Barcelona.
Now we had an acute craving for tapas.
17 November 2017 - 14:25
Helena says:
How fun that you hiked just at the Costa Brava! Wish you a nice weekend!

Across the board says:
Lots of lovely goodies. Pinxtos is just so good, we had the privilege of making it "on site" in San Sebastian this summer. And the food on the CostaBrava coast is also familiar because we have holidayed there so many times 😀.
Have a nice Friday!

Love this kind of picked food, and of course it's even better in its proper environment! 🙂

Thanks for the latest. And yes, mingling takes time. Too bad for you 😉

Thank you! And haha, maybe not so much pity for us after all 😉.

Matts Torebring says:
The Costa Brava coast is very nice. Once we have seen it, we rarely want to return. We are always looking for new places.
17 November 2017 - 19:22
Helena says:
We are also a bit like that, that we like to find new places. At Costa Brava, however, we feel that we have a lot left to explore!

Lena & Jan says:
Oh how happy I was to hear "positive things about Catalonia" i.e. their good pinchos! Here on the south coast of Spain we follow the media with excitement about what will happen to Catalonia after 21 Dec. 2017, of course we all want "Sp. to be ONE country also in the future..."
At least 3 vehicles here at the camp were robbed when they stopped and refuelled in Barcelona/Valencia (Catalonia) not nice at all and not the only ones we have experienced. Returners nowadays do NOT drive the east coast northwards. But Spain is a big country, luckily there are other roads to the north...?
17 November 2017 - 20:17
Helena says:
Of course you follow the news about Catalonia! It's disgusting what you say about robberies!!!
18 November 2017 - 15:25
BP says:
It costs to be on top. Oh well, it must do if you have as much fun as you seem to have:-)
"If the mountain cannot come to Mohammed, Mohammed must come to the mountain" - it's that simple. Catalonia seems to be going "all in" given the "country's" desire for independence. If, contrary to expectations, Catalonia succeeds in becoming an independent state, it has at least laid the groundwork for an influx of tourists well in advance.
17 November 2017 - 20:56
Helena says:
Yes, you can see that! In any case, they worked hard to market themselves here in Stockholm, and they have a lot to offer tourists!
18 November 2017 - 15:27
Åsa says:
Yes, Catalonia is hot right now!
17 November 2017 - 21:12
Helena - Oh darling, let's be adventurers says:
You seem to have had a great time at Travel Massive. I would have liked to come but it was so close to returning from the US + I was sick so had to skip this time.
