This year I (Helena) am really longing for snow and winter, for some reason. Right now it is dark, cold and damp outside - that is, it is absolute worst the weather. But earlier this week we actually got a taste of winter in Stockholm. Might as well enjoy it, right? And then we checked out this year's Christmas display at NK!
A few days of winter in Stockholm
Northern bloggers are spicing up their blogs with beautiful winter pictures right now. Now it's not exactly that I want to leave Stockholm for Norrland, but I would love to have some of their snow!
I also want to take beautiful white winter photos, but how do you do that when you live this far "south"? A white winter in Stockholm you don't get that often, but at least we got a little taste this week! Then comes the next problem ...
How to take photos in the dark? both when you go to work and when you go home? Solution: I took photos during a walk from my office to a meeting at the County Council building in the middle of the day on Tuesday. Against all odds, here's my Stockholm contribution of winter photos!
Christmas signage at NK
The night before last we happened to walk past NK's Christmas signage, which has just opened up. Super nice as usual! I really like the crocheted meals and the mouse selling cinema tickets.
A lot has happened this week, but some of the best things have been the snow and Christmas signage! (The fact that it's dark, cold and damp right now is something we're repressing.) What has been the best part of your week? What are the plans for the weekend?

Yes, this darkness and humidity is killing me! Blääää, how annoying it is. Not even a thousand candles help. Was so happy about all the snow that came this week. We got probably 15 cm on Monday night. But now?! All black again. Now we keep our fingers crossed for more snow soon.
Now I was reminded of a previous Christmas display that I hadn't uploaded, maybe I should do it, a couple of years later 🙂.

Here in the Helsingborg area they have only been a little powder on the ground. Can agree that it is beautiful with winter landscapes.

It is perhaps a little too early yet for real snow ...

Ama de casa says:
Here, I think the snow will be a while longer. But maybe in January? There was snow in the January that was, and it should not have to wait 91 years again before the next one falls? 😉
Lovely crocheted Christmas table and nice hat he has, Peter 😀.
This week's highlight is that the tapas march has started again.
Have a nice Friday!

Tapasmara does not sound wrong! And we'll see if you get snow ... a little more chance in Stockholm anyway 😉.

What nice winter pictures and crocheted Christmas table 😀 I crochet cakes and vegetables for the granddaughter, maybe something to think about for next Christmas.
Although we try to get as many hours of sunshine as possible down here in Spain, I like real winter too. There should be snow and about -5 to -10 otherwise it does not feel like winter and then you can be without it. It is said that there will be a wolf winter this year and 2018 .... well we will see. Luckily you can get out on some walks so you get some of the daylight 🙂

Cool with crocheted cakes and vegetables! 🙂 And I agree, it's supposed to be real winter... or else! 😉

The crocheted Christmas table was really nice! Must take a turn past NK this weekend and look at the Christmas signage.

Even Stockholm has its charm in winter colours, but you'll have problems with traffic when the snow falls.

Helena says:
Haha, yes, it's true 😉 We are equally surprised every year. But there are a lot of trains, subways and buses that have to arrive ...

What beautiful winter pictures! Yes, a light blanket of snow makes everything ugly!
to disappear. And the light from the streetlamps will be so delicious somehow.
What a difference from grey November.
In my house, there will be no Black Friday. Instead, there will be a Christmas Eve
dinner with ham and Janssons etc. Eldest granddaughter.
requested it, as she will be spending Christmas in England.
I'd better get started. - A sunny day with a few degrees below zero.
Absolutely perfect.

Helena says:
Agree! The snow kind of embeds and makes everything nice 🙂 So cosy with Christmas food with the granddaughter !!!! Black Friday has gradually reached Sweden, but it's not something I care about.

It can be beautiful with snow and nice snowy pictures from a beautiful Stockholm. But usually the snow does not remain but it quickly turns brown and sad. Real snow like in the north is something else.
I don't miss November at home at all but enjoy the extended summer in Sanien. There have been several nice things this week and one of them is that the "tapas journey" is underway. Always fun!

I like snow when it stays, but often it doesn't in Stockholm unfortunately... It sounds like you're having a great time in Spain! 🙂

Hahaha! You did not agree with me when you commented with me yesterday, and I do not agree with you today;-) However, I must admit that your snow pictures are very beautiful. Always good with documentation and evidence; -)
Was also past NK's Christmas signage on Wednesday. Thought it was so-so. Last year's was much better and more fun than this year's. But then I have never managed to fight my way through Fanny and Alexander either, so;-)
The best thing about my week was that the snow disappeared - ooooops!, that Brämhult's clementine juice is back since Monday and the "great pictures" from Gondolen yesterday.
24 November 2017 - 16:56
Helena says:
Haha, no, I already realised yesterday that we would not be in complete agreement about the snow 😉 Wishing you a nice weekend!

I love the snow and about -10 degrees outside crispy beautiful and not too cold. The "weather" now makes me depressed and my joints really hurt. So here's to more winter in our beautiful capital city.

Helena says:
Then we are of exactly the same opinion! Hope for more snow!!!

How fun with a crocheted Christmas table The mouse is just too cute! Snow is not my favourite weather, but it does get brighter and more Christmassy. There can be snow from now until the Epiphany weekend 😀.

For me it can be snow all winter 🙂 But not so realistic here, I know ... 😉 .

It's certainly bright and beautiful with some sparkling snow. Here it snowed heavily on Wednesday and in the evening it rained away so now it's just as grey and dull again, but soon November will be over and the Advent candles will begin to shine (and in a few weeks it will turn around...).

The male owner was in Stockholm this week and had to deal with snow and chaos... He was also at NK to look, both at Christmas and some new clothes. Too bad he missed buying cinema tickets from the mouse, because it was cute.

Thanks for the link 🙂
A winter without snow is like love without kisses, don't tell me you wouldn't miss it 😀.
NK's Christmas signage, yes, it used to be the start of Christmas 🙂 I always spent the weekend when NKs released this year's signage at my 08a sister's house 100 years ago 😉 Or maybe it was just before she had a family ...
Have a nice Monday 🙂
