The year is coming to an end, and we feel it's time for a little year-end recap. We can conclude that in 2017 we have visited twelve different countries and tried a number of different adventures. New for this year are diving, climbing, mountain biking, helicopter rides and sailing school ships. What a year! Now we're looking forward to an exciting new 2018, where we hope to inspire you to have small and big experiences. We hope you'll join us!
Table of contents
January: Austria
We started the year with a ski trip to Alpbachtal in Austria, together with our friends Lennart and Beata. This was the first time in the Alps for us, and it was a great experience. We can highly recommend the village Reith and Hotel Pirchner-Hof.
February: Caravan Stockholm
In February we hung out at the Caravan Stockholm motorhome and caravan fair. We photographed lwicked motorhomes in 360 (so you can scroll through the images) and did a report on the topic of 11 hot camping gadgets for spring. In addition we lectured at the fair!
March: Boat show and diving course
In March we went to both the boat show and the wilderness show, which was even more fun than expected. At the boat show we photographed everything from luxury boats to vintage boats, and we also listened to female solo sailors. When Peter tested scuba diving he was immediately hungry for more, and shortly afterwards it was dive course.
April: Malta and Tallinn
We started the month of April with an adventurous trip to Malta and its sister island. Gozo. Here it was diving, mountain bike and climbing. Later that month, we set off to discover Tallinn. We got to experience, among other things two cool hotels, and different guided tour and dinner at restaurant with a 20s atmosphere.
May: Sailing and Amsterdam
We started May with a pattern on the old the school ship Gratia in Nynäshamn. How cool is that? We had a marvellous experience and learnt at the same time both about the the vessel and how it works with sailing courses. A little later that month we travelled to Amsterdam for a cool concert and a bunch of experiences in Amsterdam.
June: Helicopter, Ringsö and Czech Republic
We started June with an awesome helicopter ride over Stockholmand then we went out to Ring island in Mälaren, where Peter would later work. Then it was finally time for our motorhome trip around Poland and the Czech Republic! During June we visited among other things Adršpach Rocks, Kutna Hora and Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic. What cool places!
July: Czech Republic, Poland and Tylösand
We continued our motorhome trip and realised that the Czech Republic has so much to offer! Among other things, we visited castles and vineyards and the water-filled cave Punkva Caves. Then we continued with the motorhome to Poland where we visited everything from Krakow to the wisps (!) in Bialowieza National Park and they Masurian Lakes. As we rolled into Sweden, we had time to visit the centre of Tylösand.
August: Switzerland and Wismar
In August, we went on a fantastic trip to Switzerland, where we tested driving, among other things. downhill mountain bike in Zermatt and eat raclette for dinner. We also took the motorhome to Wismar in Germany, together with a bunch of other happy motorhome drivers. We experienced the city of Wismar, Sweden Festival and Baltic Sea campsite. Thank you to everyone who took part in the trip!!!
September: Mediterranean cruise and Greece
In September we tried a cruise for the first time, with Royal Caribbean. On board the ship were everything you could wish for (including an ice skating rink!) and we also had time to visit the Marseille, Nice, Rome and Vatican City. A little later in September, Peter went on a press trip to Cassandra in Greece.
October: Jogersö, Femöre and Västerås
In October we drove the campervan to Jogersö camping and sea baths with the motorhome. During the same trip we also had the opportunity to enjoy the sun in Femöre in Oxelösund. A few weeks later it was time for a motorhome trip again, this time to Västerås and the fine the car park at the guest harbour. On the way home we also had the opportunity to meet three ghosts on the Engsö Castle.
November: Event in Stockholm
During the month of November, we most in Stockholm and went to various events. Among other things, we visited Travel News Market, and so we joined forces with the journalists in the Swedish Tourist Journalists, during a lovely evening at Stadshuskällaren. With Helena's job, there were also trips to Jönköping and Norrtälje.
December: at home
During December we have really only been at home in Stockholm. We have spent a lot of time cooking good food - everything from incision to soups. We have occasionally gone out to look at a favourite Christmas market or some ship in town, but mostly we have ... travel plans! On 30 December we are going to Israel. We are really looking forward to this so much!

Fun year! We are doing well in the Philippines. Today travel day with early morning and now (after many hours at the airport...) delayed flight. Well, a lot of sun, diving drinks and occasional rain we have had so far? Wishing you a good end to 2017 and a good start to 2018!

You have really managed to do a lot of travelling during the year. It will be exciting to follow you in 2018.
I would love to repeat such a nice trip with you and other motorhome owners again somewhere.

The motorhome trip we did together was really fun !!!! 🙂 We have put the larger plans for longer guided motorhome trips on ice for the time being (a lot of work with the practicalities of rules etc, and we simply have not had time), but some kind of motorhome trip together with others would of course be fun! Wishing a really Happy New Year!

It was fantastically fast to get the page up again! Well done there! And that goes for both you and One!!!
It's not really a competition to visit 12 or more countries, but you've managed to do a lot. I've had the privilege to ride shotgun with you, which I really thank you for. I am far too old to "flit around" as you do. But I remember very well when I did it when I was between 20 and 45 years old;-)
Great about Israel! I am really looking forward to it, as you are in a completely different part of the country than we were.

Helena says:
Yes, the page came up fairly quickly. After a LOT of work! We spent about 7 hours last night with One's English online support... There was a lot of damage to the files, so it took quite a lot of intensive work. But in the end ... voila! And no, of course it's not a competition to visit many countries, totally agree there!

Ruth in Virginia says:
It has been a wonderful year of travelling for the Aunt in Virginia,
who could not travel ANYWHERE in Europe when she was young.
The biggest surprises were probably the Czech Republic and Poland.
both in terms of nature and castles. (have visited Krakow and Auschwich).
Your style is very engaging and - the best part - it never sounds
as you boast. And sometimes you get sick, just like normal people. 🙂
Looking forward to the adventures of the new year.
29 December 2017 - 3:43
Helena says:
Thank you for your nice comment Ruth! It's also great that we were able to show another side of Poland and the Czech Republic, two countries that we really like and that we think have a lot to offer! In addition, very nice to hear that it does not sound like we are bragging. If it does some day, you have to tell us! 🙂

It's great that the hacker attack was dealt with so quickly.
It's amazing when I see how much you manage to experience in a year. And I get to experience all this through your blog. Thank you for that! Happy ending & Happy New Year!

Helena says:
Puh yes, we worked hard yesterday to repair the blog (there was quite a lot of damage), but after many hours and with Online Support from the web host, it actually worked! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Husis blog says:
Finally, the owner came into your site...
It can be nice to look back sometimes, like this summary. I did a similar review and realised that both me and the owners have moved around a lot. When the owner reads your retrospective, he also realises that you probably never have time to put your suitcase away before it has to come out again...?
29 December 2017 - 6:46
Helena says:
We were exposed to a hacker attack yesterday, so no one got into our site, not even us ... But after many hours of work and support from the web host, we have managed to open the blog again! And haha, quite right with the bags there, they are always in front 😉 Wishing a really Happy New Year!

What a great year for travelling!
And thank you for letting us come along and be inspired.
We have spent a couple of "cold" Christmas days planning a bit for 2018, which will be my last year as a working person.... It is actually wonderful to have a blank almanac in front of you, be healthy and have all the opportunities to fill it with experiences!
We wish you a Happy New Year and a wonderful trip to Israel!
29 December 2017 - 7:39
Helena says:
Exciting to soon have a completely different life to look forward to! If you are just lucky enough to be healthy, it is a fantastic opportunity to suddenly have more time. Wishing you a really nice 2018!
