Digital scouting for 2018
Dagensanalys.se keeps track of digital trends and this week has published five digital predictions for 2018. As expected - there will be even more mobile, even more social media and even more video next year.
- More and more is done via mobile phones - Mobile use is not stagnating but the opposite, and everything must be adapted for mobile.
- Media habits are changing rapidly - Traditional media are losing ground and new channels (influencers, YouTube, etc.) are gaining ground.
- New digital media takes users' time - Podcasts challenge traditional magazines, which have to adapt.
- Social media and video posts - Facebook says that by 2020, video posts will make up 80 per cent of all content on the network.
- Analysis, data and insights - Analysis is the key to success in a digital world, old credentials don't cut it.

I have wanted to visit Vietnam as well as India, now I haven't managed such a long flight in the last 20 years, but I can dream 😉.
My sister and family went to Japan in November,. however, I can not say that I feel that it is a country I want to visit, even though I have seen pictures from there so... no. I also dislike the country's proximity to North Korea 😉.
I believe that the mobile phone will continue to have a very central role in our lives, there will be a lot of "necessary" things that the mobile phone can do, from replacing the "home key" to keeping track of children/family.

Helena says:
North Korea feels more and more unstable, you have to agree ... And I also think that the mobile phone is becoming more and more important, you will need it for everything. I myself use the computer a lot, but for many people it will be mostly the mobile phone, I think.

I'm a bit surprised about Sao Paolo because it's not my favourite city. There are nicer and better choices in Brazil.
11 December 2017 - 7:38
Helena says:
Travel searches may well depend on where you look for airline tickets, so perhaps many people are travelling on from Sao Paolo afterwards ...?

Hamla trends are coming back. Gambia was popular in the 70's and 80's and already in 1978 I was there and came back in 2000. töelt. Big difference.
As for Puh Quoc, it feels nice to have been there many years ago. Now it seems very attractive and then it was very pretty but not much tourists at all. And Vietnam as a whole is a favourite with us.
Brazil is enough for everyone - and there is so much to see and experience. But you need time. I was there for a couple of weeks in the early 2000s but it didn't last long.
And old things come back from time to time and that's fun too.
The cruise in Norway I also got info about and would love to do it. But the price discourages a little.
On the SAS list (although I think Finnair is smoother to the east and faster and with a more modern fleet), I would love to visit Japan and a trip to New York is always exciting.
But we are now focusing our energy on South Africa, which is exciting, and KIna, of course.
Always fun to read about "news" on Mondays. Thank you for these.

I also remember Gambia being popular for a while. We haven't been to Brazil, but it sounds exciting, as does all of South America! South Africa sounds exciting!!! Glad you like our travel news! We have received some comments that they should perhaps be more personal, so are thinking of adding a little more personal touch perhaps ... May test next Monday and see if it will be thumbs up or thumbs down 😉.

Travelling is developing rapidly, but there are also unprecedented opportunities today... Here are some things that would be fun to try.
"Arctic ski & sail" would have attracted me the most.

That cruise attracts us too! 🙂

So much fun that Banjul, Gambia has got a revival again! Was there in the early 1990s, and then we were pretty much the only western tourists. I don't know what it looks like now, but I hope that much is as untouched and unspoilt as then.
Tokyo - my colleague Eva and her husband are going there on 20 January. Unfortunately, they didn't need a porter.
It is no surprise that mobile phone use will continue and grow even more.

:Criss-cross says:
I have absolutely no desire to return to Banjul, where I was called a racist because I wanted to carry my handbag myself. The person shouted in Swedish as well.
There are many other exciting places 🙂
