Happy Friday! Admittedly, it is a bit sad to come home from travelling, but it is still nice to come to a home where you feel comfortable. Personal news this week is that I (Helena) started a new job and ... a new houseboat slipped into the marina. In addition, we can enjoy watching Peter's last two films from the Israel trip! Happy Friday then!
Table of contents
At home in the houseboat
Now we are at home in the houseboat in Pampas marina again! Even though we love travelling, we enjoy our houseboat. And when there is frost, it is of course extra nice!
New job
I (Helena) have started a new job this week. It is a completely new project, but I have worked with my colleagues before. Nice! What about the project? It is about evaluating a method where school nurses talk to children and adolescents about obesity, on the children's terms and with their own wishes in focus.
Apart from the fact that the project is exciting, it is positive that I (accompanied by Peter) can still walk to work. I used to work at Kungsholmen and now I work at Torsplan - the fact is that it's a bit shorter to walk now!
New houseboat in the marina
If you regularly follow our blog, you know that it is always something happens in our marina. Shortly after we returned from Israel, a new huge floating villa was towed in and docked at one of the piers. A new neighbour? We haven't received any information, but that might be the case. You never know what happens here! Here is a series of pictures ...!
Last but not least ... films
As you may have noticed, Peter has produced a lot of films during our trip to Israel. He enjoys it and always wants to get better at making films. But editing film while travelling is sometimes difficult. The last two films are about Dolphin Reef and if Dead Sea. We add them to the posts afterwards, but you can also watch them here. And of course we want to know the most positive aspects of your week!

Evy Knoph says:
Wow what a place! Israel seems to be on everyone's mind now..you seem to have done a lot and had a good trip!
Congratulations on your new job!
My most positive is the small excursion I and 2 friends took to Copenhagen ten-on where we were at the Depeche Mode concert (7th on this tour for me)..you get so happy with good music :-).
All trains left right on time... and the Good Morning Star Hotel behind the centre was affordable and good :-)...

Helena says:
Evy, what fun with the concert! Sounds like a good trip! 🙂 Nice weekend!
12 January 2018 - 12:01
Helena says:
Lena, Yes, it is nice! Especially like this in frost or snow, I think. And of course it is a luxury to be able to walk to work!

Lovely pictures ❄️☀️
We came home from Spain yesterday... a bit hard to wake up to this grey weather..but soon spring will be here ☀️
In Spain we have travelled around a bit...Old town in Alicante,Murcia,Benidorm and Elche all incredibly cosy cities ☀️
12 January 2018 - 8:12
Helena says:
I realise that this weather is a bit too much for Spain ... 😉 But it sounds like you had a great time there! 🙂

Alexandra says:
Fun with the films. Haven't looked at your films much actually, but looked through a bunch now. Peter seems to be good at whatever he takes on to do? 😀
The only thing I wanted when I saw the films was to sometimes alternate the music with hearing a little when you talk. I think it makes "vlogs" a little more exciting to watch. Just a thought from me 😀 But as I said, great films!
Honestly, the best thing about this week was that the Christmas holiday ended haha, we had been completely lost the whole family by being free and not really doing anything. But now we are on G again. 😉
12 January 2018 - 8:14
Helena says:
Thanks for the constructive feedback on the films Alexandra! 🙂 I will tell Peter and we will think about it further!

Oh so exciting! Congratulations!!! My mum works with that sometimes! There are more overweight children than ever before.
Beautiful pictures!
Your trip seemed lovely!
Hope to see you soon?
Now there are a couple of work trips and a private weekend. But then?
Hugs

Helena says:
Yes, childhood obesity has become more common, especially in certain groups, areas, etc. What does your mum do? *curious* And there will surely be an opportunity for us to meet soon! 🙂 Have fun!

What a wonderful environment you have around you and what an important project you have been involved in.
Here it has been a week filled with work but the most positive thing is that we have started our gym training after the weekends colds. Oh, how nice it is and how satisfied you feel!
12 January 2018 - 9:26
Helena says:
Great that you have started training! Well done!!! We have trained ONCE after Israel and have crazy training pain after that haha. Very above ...

Mr Steve says:
I enjoy working on new projects. Then the job is never monotonous. In addition, working in project form often provides good opportunities to influence developments. Being able to walk to work in Stockholm must be a real honour.
It was a cool new houseboat that arrived in the marina.
I really like your films. Just the right length and always with nice music that allows me to watch the films with a heightened sense of calm.
The best thing about the past week is that D finished a small project here in the house when she created a completely new elegant bedroom from her former dressing room... The very best thing about the week remains, however, as tomorrow we are going to Liv's 1st birthday party.
12 January 2018 - 9:33
Helena says:
Wow, she is really creative your D! Being able to walk to work is perfect 🙂 Wishing you a nice weekend and 1 year party!

Ditte says:
Welcome home again! And it's great when you come back to a home you really like. I feel that way too. Exciting with a new neighbour, but I don't think these floating "shabrak" are really nice and it doesn't feel like a houseboat at all. But luckily it thinks differently.
Fun with a new job and children's health is even more important. I wish that in Sweden, as in many countries around the world, an hour of sport/physical activity would be introduced every day on the school timetable. Would help a lot. And changed eating habits of course.
It's great fun to see Peter's films and I recognise a lot of them. hope that more will follow.
Here we have planned some of the trips for the spring and it feels great. But otherwise I have been so pleased with the "niceties" in Stockholm. The offer is great.
Happy Friday.

Helena says:
Thank you very much! I'm not even sure if anyone is staying on that big houseboat or what the plan is, but we'll see! Sounds good with nice things in the neighbourhood. And of course I am curious about what kind of trips you have going on?

Ama de casa says:
Sounds like an important project there at the new job. The only thing that is stupid is that it is closer - less exercise that way 😉.
Cool films! The dolphins are just as cool as can be 🙂 .
Have a nice Friday!
12 January 2018 - 10:46
Helena says:
Haha, yes, a little less exercise ... will try to compensate in some way 😉.

Inga Magnusson says:
Glad that you are still enjoying your nice houseboat! The new houseboat was a teddy bear. One wonders what the price tag is for such. And what it looks like inside. Congratulations on your new job which seems nice. Interesting topic to work with. As a teacher I have encountered the problem sometimes and often got the feeling that it is a family dilemma more than a problem that is only the individual child. Good luck and have a nice weekend!
12 January 2018 - 10:49
Helena says:
The houseboat looks huge! I don't know anything about it, or what is planned ... I understand that as a teacher you have encountered this problem, and I share your view that it often affects the whole family. Therefore, the parents are also involved in this, even if you start with the child.

World by Tina says:
Wow, living in a houseboat! Sounds magical. I dream of that. Or a small cabin in the forest. In the best of all worlds. Both!

It's great when you're at home!
Helena, get in touch if you need parental input.
I have experienced both good and terrible weight conversations with my son and nurse.

12 January 2018 - 12:01
Helena says:
Thank you for your comment Emelie! Yes, it would definitely be interesting to hear about your experiences! I understand that these types of conversations are not always successful. It can be difficult to talk about so that it becomes good, and that's why this project feels important! Among other things, I will interview both children and parents who take part in the method, so a major focus is on their experiences!
12 January 2018 - 15:44
Emelie says:
It is super important 🙂

Pampas Marina in winter colours. Lovely pictures that you took the opportunity to take when the weather was nice. The frost on the trees is incredibly beautiful. You seem to enjoy your new job. Always fun to work with colleagues who you have worked and enjoyed working with before. It makes it easier to get "into the gang".
The Aquavilla is model XXL, I see. Somehow I prefer the Freedom. More cosy somehow.
The films were absolutely wonderful. Once again, I like the length (reasonably long) and the choice of music. Incredibly well done there!

Matts Torebring says:
In Småland we sometimes offer "Flyttgröt" when new neighbours arrive. I would probably be surprised if you have that custom. Fantastic films again!

Congratulations on the good "travel" result!!! And thanks for all the work you put into your blog, I read almost every day, although I do not always take the time to comment... But today I want to thank you for all the posts from your trip to Israel! So fun to read about. I have been to Israel once, but it was very long ago, in the 80s. I was only 18 then, and travelled with a friend to visit another friend who worked on a kibbutz, which was popular at the time. We were in Israel for two weeks, staying mostly in Netanya, which is by the sea, but also in a few other places. We travelled by bus around the country, were at the Jordan River, in Nazareth, Capernaum, in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv etc. A fantastic trip in an incredibly beautiful and varied country. It was also in January, we had warm and nice weather except when we were in Jerusalem, which is on a hill. It was freezing cold! I remember we had to buy thick jackets in a market there to avoid freezing to death... We had planned to go to the Dead Sea, but we never got there. We were going to take a bus from Tel Aviv I think it was, but there was a strike so the buses didn't run. And it was too expensive by taxi, otherwise you could take a shared taxi, I think it was called "sherrut" or something... Yes, it was a fantastic trip! Lots of experiences ... and dizzying with all the military that even then was everywhere, shooting at night etc.... This was also at the time when you did not have a mobile phone, my parents at home in Sweden were of course very worried because they did not hear from us at all in these two weeks....
Thanks again for a good, interesting and varied blog! And good luck in your new job, Helena!
