Chaos in the houseboat

Ever since we came home from Helsinki (and Israel), the houseboat has been in chaos. The suitcases are unpacked, there's laundry and dishes everywhere, and to top it off, Peter has set up a green screen studio in the living room. Did you think that was enough? No, the ice on Lake Ulvsunda is playing tricks on us too. Friday at last! Let's do Happy Friday!

Chaos in the houseboat - in every room!

It really is chaos at our house right now. In the kitchen the dishes are unwashed even though we have a dishwasher, in the boiler room/laundry room (also called our crawl-in closet) the laundry piles are growing and in the bedroom the suitcases are open but unpacked. But the worst is still in the living room, where Peter has set up his Green screen equipment. Total chaos is just the name of the game.

Why this chaos?

Well, why this chaos, you might ask? The thing is that we are busy, and simply prioritise other things than things like cleaning, washing and dishwashing. I (Helena) work full time (plus I have an extra project on the side) and when I'm not working I'm busy blogging or running at events.

Peter works just all day long with everything from updating the blog's travel tips and location pages with maps and pictures to running press releases, editing films, setting up collaborations with travel companies and planning our participation in the fair. Caravan Stockholm. And then he takes care of the home. Or well, at least he goes shopping and prepares very good dinners every day! The cleaning has perhaps become little suffering ...

Ice keeps us awake

After long days with a lot of work, you want to get a good night's sleep, but that's not always the case. When the temperature rose, the ice on Lake Ulvsunda broke up, and because of the strong winds, all the ice floes drifted towards us in the lake. Pampas marina. Where do they end up? Around the bow of our boat! The ice floes may seem small, but the sound of them hitting the bow propagates throughout the hull as hard impacts. All night it sounded like we were under attack!

I tried to sleep, but kept waking up. When I finally went back to sleep (around 5 a.m.), I dreamt that the houseboat broke away from the dock. We slipped into the open water, where we met waves and Finnish ferries ...

Good morning! At 06:00, it's time to wake up, no matter how you slept. Let's say "Happy Friday" and welcome the weekend! How has your week been?
