Today there will be some statistics here at FREEDOMtravel. It is always exciting to see who is reading the blog and bet that are most read. We looked at the statistics for our blog in 2017, from 1 January to 31 December. Here are the results. As expected, or surprising?
Our readers in 2017
Who were our readers in 2017? We know some of you because you write comments. Thank you so much for that! Getting comments is the most fun thing ever! But of course we appreciate all other readers too.
Some follow the blog, and others stumble upon a specific post after searching on Google. We looked at statistics from Google Analytics, which is the industry standard and the most reliable statistical tool. Then we can see what you see in the infographic below.
We have had 202,000 unique visitors during the year - fantastic! Most are in Sweden, but some are also in Norway and Finland. We can also see that some people are logging in from Spain and Portugal, for example, and of course we are guessing that they are Swedes.
We have readers of all ages, but the largest proportion is over 45. We can also see that there are slightly more women than men who read, and that many read on a mobile phone. Those who do not read on a mobile phone read on a computer or tablet.
Our most read posts in 2017
So what were our most read posts in 2017? Below you can see the most read blog posts and pages in 2017. It's safe to say that Croatia is popular, and travelling by motorhome ...

Kenneth Risberg says:
202,000 visitors in 2017 means 553.42 visitors per day and I am one of the most computerised readers and part of the group of 64 %, over 45 years old.
Interesting statistics, nice weekend!
13 January 2018 - 9:17
Helena says:
We actually have more unique readers per day than that Kenneth. The figure of 202,000 unique readers for the whole year only counts each individual once. But in fact there are regular readers who read several or many times during the year. When you look at unique readers per day, the figure is therefore a little higher.
13 January 2018 - 10:24
Kenneth Risberg says:
Aha, more per day then, not bad!

WoW what impressive numbers? Congratulations on that?

Helena says:
Thank you very much Annette!

Ditte says:
I keep up with it and have done so for a long time. I mostly read on my computer, but sometimes on my phone. And commenting from my phone also works well on WP. This is not the case on all platforms.
I appreciate most of it and have benefited from it. I have also recommended the blog to friends in Spain with a motorhome and now those who are going to take a trip to Albania this year (to many others too).
It's great to see such a good response. And it's fun to see what the statistics look like. And fun with Google Analytics because you get so many details.
Good luck for 2018
13 January 2018 - 10:10
Helena says:
How nice that you have recommended our blog to others Ditte! We humbly thank you for that! It's also good to hear that you think it works well to comment via your mobile phone.

Ama de casa says:
Congratulations on an extraordinarily impressive statistic! 🙂
But I wonder one thing... How do they know the age and gender of the readers? 😉
13 January 2018 - 10:11
Helena says:
Thank you! 🙂 It feels like the internet knows everything about you .... 😉
13 January 2018 - 12:57
Bengt-Göran says:
Have been with you since the beginning! Appreciate your motorhome tours the most!
13 January 2018 - 10:38
Helena says:
What fun that you have followed since the start Bengt-Göran! 🙂 Motorhome will probably be more this summer! If it turns out as we hope and plan for, it will be a longer motorhome trip.

Comsi comsa says:
Read but rarely comment (nowadays never) ?
So because I read, I like the blog. ?
My age is a secret and so is yours. ??
13 January 2018 - 11:27
Helena says:
Now you commented! 🙂 Thanks for that, and glad to hear that you like the blog! And you have to have some secrets 😉.

4000mil says:
Stable figures and interesting that the crab ended up so high up. 🙂
I am so very old-fashioned that I don't like to read blogs on my mobile phone. I use the computer or the toad.
13 January 2018 - 11:41
Helena says:
The crab post is perhaps a little unexpected on the list, but that post goes very well! 🙂 I myself am so old-fashioned that I do not have a toad 😉.

Liniz Travel says:
Wow impressive 🙂 go for it !!!! You inspire! Hugs
13 January 2018 - 13:24
Across the board says:
Fun with statistics. To "scale" a crab is not easy and sometimes I google it myself, if it was a while ago. "How was it again ...." so it is perhaps not so strange that it comes high up.
Happy Blogging 😀
13 January 2018 - 13:52
Helena says:
Yes, the post about crabs is clearly one of those posts that people google and find.
13 January 2018 - 18:18
Christina says:
Congratulations, so nice with nice statistics, you are really worth it. Freedomtravel is my absolute favourite blog. I follow you daily and of course I like everything about motorhomes the most perhaps, as we have a motorhome ourselves, but we also travel in other ways just like you. It is at least as fun to follow all the other trips and completely different posts you make. So varied, inspiring, nice photos and joyful. You are the BEST.
13 January 2018 - 14:57
Helena says:
Oh Christina, thank you! What a nice comment ... almost makes me tear up a bit. Thank you for very nice feedback! Wishing you a nice weekend!
13 January 2018 - 18:19
Husis blog says:
It's nice to have statistics and it's also proof that you're largely writing about interesting things.
For me, it's probably the comments that keep me blogging. My blog is much smaller and has a different purpose. It has also been nice to meet other bloggers as well.
13 January 2018 - 15:02
Helena says:
You can blog in different ways and for different reasons. I still recognise that the comments and meeting other bloggers have been some of the biggest drivers for us!
13 January 2018 - 19:18
Matts Torebring says:
I love reading and following statistics in many areas, not least my own! There is a calculator in there somewhere, that always wants to compete (and only the worst). So it has always been.
When it comes to blogging, you probably beat us all. I myself only reach 1/4 of your numbers. In this case, I am very satisfied. You are professionals. I can be proud of my years as a forestry worker, 15 to 24 years. Then I was number one out of 600 men on the Holmens Bruk payroll (we only had an agreement without a penny in fixed salary) As a seller of coffee machines in Sweden, I have sold the most of all the machines I have worked actively with. No bragging, just so much fun to succeed, same with you!
It's great to be committed and to succeed in what you do. Congratulations and good luck in the future.
13 January 2018 - 15:11
Helena says:
Of course, statistics and measuring and "competing" is a bit of fun. But you don't always have to compete against others. We think it's fun to compare our own statistics with last year's etc. And you really have a lot to be proud of in your professional life! What a journey you have made!
13 January 2018 - 19:20
Motorhome Helge says:
Hey, statistics are fun, but I prefer to read your travelogues. Helge is a man, I'm a woman, which quota do we fall into? That's how it is with statistics. Fun if you make a longer motorhome trip this summer so that we have something exciting to look forward to! Good luck with your reports!
13 January 2018 - 16:13
Helena says:
Haha, one can wonder if the big internet knows that Helge is a man ...? And yes, the plan is a motorhome trip. If everything goes as we want and hope! 🙂

åsa in åsele says:
I follow you in principle daily even though I more rarely comment... I also follow you via Instagram 🙂 ...
Statistics are fun when they are positive 🙂
I sometimes check the statistics on who reads my blog and am surprised by all the people from "strange" countries like Russia, Ukraine and Indonesia 😉.
My top three countries where people who read my blog are located are Sweden, USA and Russia 😀.
13 January 2018 - 17:04
Helena says:
Nice that you follow us Åsa! You only need to comment when you feel like it 🙂 The fact that you have many visits from Russia and Ukraine unfortunately indicates that your statistics tool is not able to filter out spam robots. That's why we use Google Analytics, which is the most reliable tool.
13 January 2018 - 19:29
BP says:
Congratulations! Impressive numbers, indeed!
Belongs to the 61 per cent and is over 45. Good with such "mature" readers, as you avoid "rubbish comments" from potential cosmetics bloggers;-)
The only surprise was probably Peter's film on how to eat crab. I understand that it is popular, as it is not the easiest thing to "dig out" the meat of a crab.
I read both on my mobile and computer, but comment on all my favourite bloggers only from my computer.
PS. I don't have a toad either. DS.
13 January 2018 - 17:45
Helena says:
Haha, yes, mature readers are not so stupid actually 😉 Younger readers are very welcome too, but it still feels good that it is primarily a little more mature readers who appreciate our blog 🙂 That the crab instructions would go so well was a bit unexpected, but as you say, it is not entirely simple so maybe a typical thing to google ...

Travelsis says:
Wow what numbers. Not so strange, you write posts often, interesting and food useful tips? (thought of food useful travel tips, but you also have food useful recipes). Do not always comment, but know that you yourself are so happy about it./Pernilla
13 January 2018 - 21:11
Helena says:
Thanks for the nice comment Pernilla! We work hard on the blog, so of course it is very nice that it is appreciated! 🙂
