A house comes running

It's Friday again! Living in a houseboat is always exciting, so when it's time for Happy Friday, we have to share the houseboat life with you. Living like this makes us always just as happy! This week Peter has photographed a huge floating villa that slipped by a few centimetres from our houseboat. I don't want to be worse, so I've been photographing the huge construction going on outside the windows at my work.

Variable weather

Weather can be a rather boring topic of conversation, but the weather this week has certainly not been boring. On the contrary! The week has seen the most weather you can think of, so to speak. At the weekend it was gloriously sunny. Then it rained, snowed, blew, thawed and froze a little at a time.

A house on the move

If you live in an apartment or villa, you may not be used to houses moving around, but here it happens from time to time. A large aquavilla, i.e. a floating villa manufactured by Aquavilla AB, arrived at the marina some time ago and has since been lying unoccupied at the quayside. In recent days, some other houseboats have been moved around to make room for the new house, and now it was time to tow the villa to its new location.

Since the new aqua villa has been placed on one of the outer sides of the marina, it first had to be towed out of the marina, which is what Peter has photographed. After it was towed out, it was put in its proper place, and now we assume it will be sold. It looks like many of the other aquavillas in the marina but is a little smaller, as it has no basement.

More things that move

Whilst Peter is at home in the marina looking at houses moving around, I am at my job at Torsplan watching the construction of the Norra Tornen at Torsplan in Stockholm. These two skyscrapers will be 120 and 104 metres high, or 35 and 30 floors respectively, and contain 330 apartments between them. Not a small building! So far, only one of the towers is under construction, but it's growing every day, I can promise you.

Your turn ... what has been your favourite part of the week?
