Yesterday it was time for the first day at the Caravan Stockholm 2018 fair. Peter had to stand at the fair himself because I (Helena) was working, and he came home with lots of impressions! This year's fair offers news and travel inspiration, but of course also meetings with new and old friends in the motorhome and camping world.
Our stand is up
Our stand is up now! We are at Destinationstorget, which is a new feature this year. At Destinationstorget, visitors get travel inspiration from travellers and experts both on stage and in stands.
In addition to us (which this year focuses on France, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Poland), you will find information and inspiration about Germany, the Baltic States, Lapland, Dalarna and Västervik. We will try to stand in our stand as often as we can, so please come and visit us!
Motorhomes and camping equipment at Caravan Stockholm 2018
The fair is of course full of motorhomes and caravans. Peter was busy talking to people yesterday when he was alone on the stand, and only had time for a quick tour of the show. As soon as we have time, we'll be back with more detailed reports on the motorhomes, caravans and camping gear.
However, we can tell you that there are both small and large motorhomes ... and some interesting equipment. For example, how about a saucepan (or grill, perhaps?) that cooks directly on the table?
Meetings and live podcasts
Of course it is fun to check out new motorhomes and accessories, but if possible it is even more fun to meet old and new friends in the motorhome and camping world. Peter came home exuberantly happy, and I'm really looking forward to being at the fair this Friday. Today we're giving a talk on travelling by motorhome in France and Croatia at 12:30. Before and after that, you'll find us at our stand where we'll be offering camping brochures and surprises.
Yesterday, it was instead the "Travelling Podcast" on stage, which offered thoughts on this year's travel trends. All in all, we can say that Caravan Stockholm 2018 offered an interesting and rewarding first day. Now we look forward to three more exciting days! Don't miss out on following the blog - every morning at 06:00 there will be a new report.

Ama de casa says:
Full speed here then - wonderful! 🙂
A saucepan that cooks directly on the table sounds interesting. Is there a chef's accessory too? 😉
Have a good and happy fair Friday!
16 February 2018 - 9:51
Helena says:
I think it might be more of a grill than a saucepan, although it does look a bit like a saucepan and there is a lid 😉 I'll be back with more details and pictures shortly 🙂.

Sandra Lifsresor.se says:
Good luck with the lecture and have a wonderful day at the fair. I myself have to go back and forth Linköping today. 🙂
16 February 2018 - 10:14
Helena says:
Thank you very much! Back and forth to Linköping...? What are the plans for the day?

Ruth in Virginia says:
Talk about full steam ahead! It's amazing how much energy you have.
What a job to organise such a fair. I look at the
large indoor rides. What kind of building has such
incredibly large spaces?
Your little platform looks very inviting. Would love to
would like to hear the talk on Poland. Was completely unfamiliar territory for
me, until you took me along. - Don't forget to rest from time to time! 🙂
16 February 2018 - 11:38
Helena says:
Yes, it's now in full swing 😉 The building is Kistamässan in Kista outside Stockholm. There are large exhibition halls, so the cars fit without problems. Wise advice about resting! We'll do our best to try to do that from time to time 😉.

Alexandra says:
Let's see if we might come on Sunday! Tonight I will go to AW with old colleagues and will not be so keen to go to a fair tomorrow haha. But on the other hand, the last day at fairs is often quite calm, which can be nice!
16 February 2018 - 12:49
Helena says:
Hope to see you on Sunday then! Nice evening and AW!
16 February 2018 - 21:40
Lars Permeln says:
I was at the fair today, Friday afternoon, and passed your stand. You were both in intense discussions and several interested parties seemed to be queuing up. A good move by the fair to invest in a Destination Square. It is certainly appreciated by many visitors.
16 February 2018 - 16:20
Helena says:
Hi Lars! What a shame we didn't get to meet! Yes, we know, there were some occasions when the stand was quite full... We like the Destination Square too!
16 February 2018 - 21:41
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
We think Destination Square is a great idea, like a miniature travel fair. Then, as always, it is fun to look around at all the innovative "good-to-have things". There is usually always a small purchase at e.g. Elmia.
Have a great weekend and those of us who can't attend will follow you on the blog.
16 February 2018 - 16:53
Helena says:
The destination square is a really good idea! It is not so big this year, but can be developed with advantage 🙂 .
16 February 2018 - 21:43
Role o Carina says:
Too bad we can not be there, had been fun and exciting! 🙂
We had probably mostly stayed in the Morelos neighbourhood then 🙂 .
Take care and enjoy......
16 February 2018 - 17:07
Helena says:
You can't be everywhere. Wishing you a great weekend!
16 February 2018 - 21:43
Matts Torebring says:
It's great that you have your own real stand. Good luck to you! Although I read on another site that there were neither caravans nor Sweden's largest manufacturers were included.
16 February 2018 - 17:24
Helena says:
There are caravans, but far fewer than motorhomes. I can also agree that there is a lack of major motorhome brands.
16 February 2018 - 21:44
Travel Linda says:
Good luck with your lectures. We look forward to checking out motorhomes (although we are very happy with the one we have) and smart solutions and equipment that can make motorhome life fun and easy!
16 February 2018 - 19:49
Helena says:
Will you be at the fair on Saturday? Please come to our stand and say hello! 🙂
16 February 2018 - 21:45
Travel Linda says:
Yes, we are going there tomorrow. I'll let you know if you're there.
16 February 2018 - 21:59
BP says:
Hope your first talk was a success. Good luck tomorrow too!
That "saucepan grill" sounds really interesting.
Then I wonder what the cute dachshunds were doing there in the enclosed space 😉 .
16 February 2018 - 20:55
Helena says:
Will return about the saucepan grill! Do not have as big plans to return about the dachshunds ... but guess that you sell fences to fence your dogs when you are out with the motorhome 😉 When will we see you then? Surely you would come to the fair!?
16 February 2018 - 21:46
Husis blog says:
The owners would have found it interesting to take part in your lectures, but they are not in Stockholm. However, they are going to Elmia, so they hope to meet you... ?
16 February 2018 - 21:05
Helena says:
Elmia is a good fair! We are not sure that we will be there, it may be that we are on a motorhome trip. Not quite clear yet though 😉
16 February 2018 - 21:47
Travel Friday says:
Too bad I missed you Helena, but it seems to have been a success for you! Good to hear!
