Let's take a break from reporting on the Trans-Siberian Railway journey, because it's Happy Friday! We take the opportunity to show pictures from last weekend's wine tasting - and from this week's travel mingle.

White wine tasting
Last Saturday we were invited to dinner by Peter's eldest son Robin and his wife Alexandra. What we didn't know was that a white wine tasting was waiting! Robin and Alexandra had selected five white wines, which would be very different in aroma and flavour, and provided us each with a tasting form.
We were served the wine in five different glasses, and to keep the order of the wines secret even from the host couple, they put little stickers with numbers under the foot of the glasses. How did it go? Very fun and interesting, but it was Peter who won - he managed to get all the numbers right!
Tasty cheese platter
We were also served a cheese plate with really good cheeses. I can't remember the names of all the cheeses, but they included a flavourful mould cheese, a Swiss hard cheese and a truffle cheese. Three marmalades are served with the cheeses: fig marmalade, pear marmalade and carrot marmalade. And a little later we had pasta with truffle salami. Yummy!
More challenges in the evening
Peter "won" the wine tasting, but there were more challenges to take on during the evening. We ran both the MIG Explorer quiz and the Language Nerd quiz. Since I (Helena) am the family's language nerd, everyone thought it would be difficult to beat me, but it was Robin who won! (Lesson learnt: never be too confident).
Resin gel
This week, Peter also attended a travel event at the Downtown Camper hotel on Brunkebergstorg. It was time for a new event for the travel industry called Travel Media Day. There were many hours of mingling with the travel industry, and of course meetings with some other travel bloggers. Mingle, meetings and new collaboration opportunities means of course ... Happy Friday! So, what has been the best part of your week?

Nice with wine tasting, cheese and quizzes! And fun with travel games too 🙂
The best part of the week was probably that I finally got to see some snow. Haha! No, the best thing was that we got out on a little mini-trip again, Just one day, but I like to travel both short and long 🙂.
Have a happy and great Friday!

In fact, there is a lot of fun going on both at home and away. Wine tasting with delicious accompaniments and quizzes are great fun, and so is travelling.
We have been on a couple of nice trips up in the mountains and that and meeting with friends and tapas tasting have been some of the highlights of the week. At least so far.

It's so nice to have a wine tasting.
The only wine I know of yours is cono sur. We had it as a starter at our daughter's wedding.
Have a nice weekend!

Wow, I hadn't heard about that travel event! Shame to miss it.

A perfect contribution to Happy Friday! The only thing I thought about regarding the fun wine tasting is whether you drank the wine or spit it out;-) Probably the former;-)
I'm also a bit of a language nerd, so I'd probably also be a bit surprised not to win;-)
It's fun to travel too.

Wine tasting at home is great fun and Systembolaget staff are usually good and enjoy helping with wine selection.
Parlour games aren't bad either (despite all the computer and video games). With us, however, it's not a game, but often bloody serious.
This week has brought us one week closer to spring even though we got 50 cm of snow!!!!

Hello Freedom
What is one of the wines from Portugal? Vihno Verde? Is Peter a connoisseur of wines? Hope all is well with you and hope to see you soon! We are waiting a while longer to get back to Sweden. The temperature will decide.
Have a wonderful time! Greetings from Portugal ???

Vihno Verde is one of the cheapest white wines you can buy.
buy here at Trader Joe's. Between 4-5 dollars for a beautiful bottle.
A bit sweet, unfortunately.
