Mexican food and Vietnamese clothes

It was Friday again! One of the best things this week is that Peter went to a super exciting meeting in Gothenburg. This meeting can lead to really interesting things for you as a reader, but we'll come back to that later. Instead, today we'll be posting pictures of artistic sushi, authentic Mexican food and clothes sewn in Vietnam. Happy Friday!

Best sushi!

At the beginning of the week we didn't have time to shop for food, so we indulged ourselves with takeaway sushi from MGL Sushi in Bromma. It is a small detour for us to drive there, but soooo worth it!

Real Mexican food

Last Wednesday evening, my research group (which I am only half-associated with nowadays) met at the home of our research group leader for a Mexican cookery evening. One of the group is of Mexican descent and brought "real" Mexican recipes. There were almost 15 of us in the kitchen cooking. very many dishes. It's safe to say it was chaotic for a while, but fascinatingly, it all ended with a fantastic buffet.

I can't account for half of the dishes on the buffet table, but we made quesadillas (fried double tortilla bread with filling) with bean sauce, and fish tacos with pickled red onion. Our "guide" in the Mexican jungle also mixed his own dough and fried homemade tortillas filled with feta cheese, among other things.

Finally, we were served Bangladeshi pastries brought by one of the group, who is from Bangladesh. Then we rolled home, more or less... A great evening!

Vietnamese clothing

After we wrote our post on Hoi An in Vietnam and the tailors there, several (well, two) readers wanted us to show the clothes we had made. We made quite a few, but the years have passed and we don't have much left. It can be perhaps because they didn't have any stretch fabrics and I had quite tight dresses and tops made, but just maybe ...

I made some silk dresses and tops, a Vietnamese holiday outfit and a pair of linen trousers (which I still have). Peter sewed several pairs of trainers (!) which he was very happy with and worked hard on his health. We also sewed up a jacket each, and we still have these!
