Eventually it will be spring. This year we almost started to wonder, but finally it came! Yesterday we had sunshine and we took the opportunity to take some photos in our marina. Has spring come to you yet, where you live?
Late spring this year
According to the calendar, spring runs from 1 March to the last day of May, regardless of the weather. If you look at the 'meteorological spring', it only occurs when the average daily temperature is above 0 degrees for seven consecutive days.
According to Wikipedia, the meteorological spring in Stockholm usually occurs around 16 March. This year it was definitely late, and it was probably only in April that we could start talking about spring. After all, it was almost to the point of giving up hope, but now it actually feels like spring!
Sun and boats in the marina
Yesterday it was sunny in Stockholm and in Pampas marina where we live, and we took the opportunity to take some photos. Sure signs of spring are that there are now some leisure boats in the water, that some of the stalls on the piers (boat shops, etc.) are open, and that Pampa staff are cleaning and sweeping. What are the signs of spring where you live?
Lena - good for the soul says:
Yes, it is wonderful. It has really felt a bit more like spring in the last few days. Wonderful.
Probably the biggest sign of spring here is that the streets and pavements have started to be swept. And a few buds sticking out of the ground. We are going to Kiel this weekend. I hope to see more spring there.

Great photos! Remembering how wonderful it was in the
Sweden, when spring came, and Stockholm is a special place.
Spring is late here too; in fact, I saw tiny, tiny snowflakes
on the windscreen the day before yesterday. Temp has stayed between 4 and 10 plus degrees.
with cold winds in the last few days but are expected to "take the lift" up
until 25-28 Friday and Saturday.
-Thank you for the birthday greeting.

The birds are vultures (Aythya fuligula).

Lovely pictures. Understand that it is extra nice for you to look out in the mornings these days.
At Getingstorp, all traces of snow are now a thing of the past. Crocuses are starting to appear here and there and the birch trees are telling us that they will bring their mouse ears this year as well. Whether it will be in April remains to be seen.
It's a great time to be here.
11 April 2018 - 9:37
Helena says:
It sounds like you have wonderful signs of spring to enjoy at Getingstorp! 🙂

Here we are also waiting for the heat. Spring has been absolutely miserable! Except over Easter when it was lovely weather (nice for everyone who came here and celebrated Semana Santa). The shorts came out, but now the long trousers have come on again - and it's a long way to go that way.
The cute little pair of diving ducks are vultures!
Have a nice little Saturday!

Great with all the bird savvy readers! 🙂 Thank you! I'm super bad at birds, but we have quite a few different varieties here, and in the end I get curious ... 😉.

I had lost some hope for spring 😉 :), and booked a solo trip to Thailand. Hope spring has come to stay here at home anyway :).

Thailand sounds great! Are you going soon?

Down in Skåne we have longed for sun and warmth and this Sunday it was 19 plus and blazing sun..... But the opposite for me, Easter in Hemsedal minus 25, a week later plus 19 and now just on the night train to Åre for the last ski trip this season, minus at night but maybe plus 8 on sunny days that are promised Thursday to Saturday. Lovely sun, warmth and skiing.
No shortage of snow as there is currently 120 cm.
Regards

You never know in April, but if it snows again, it will at least be very short-lived 😉.

Hope spring comes to you soon too! It's not very warm here either and still ice on the lake, but at least sun, plus degrees and no snow whatsoever 🙂.

Spring at last!
Down here, the main sign of spring is when the cranes come to Lake Hornborga in the 20th century.
Then we played a few holes of golf at the weekend, wet and icy on the ponds, where the balls lay looking forlorn.... but still a sign that spring is here.
11 April 2018 - 18:57
Helena says:
It sounds cool with the cranes! I'd love to see that at some point!
11 April 2018 - 19:03
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
Yes, there are almost as many motorhomes as cars there. We only have a mile there so there are usually a couple of spring excursions.
11 April 2018 - 20:07
Helena says:
It can probably be an excursion there with a motorhome on occasion! Not this year, but I would love to hear about it some other year 🙂 .

How wonderful to live in a marina now that everything is starting to move, other people are putting in their boats, the birds are flying around, other birds are swimming in the sea. What a good feeling.
With the owners it has been nice and good weather but cold nights and mornings. But as I said, things are turning round and soon I'll be able to go out for a walk again.
11 April 2018 - 19:49
Helena says:
Yes, the accommodation in the marina is extra lovely now that it starts to be spring 🙂 Have fun!

No snow on the bridge, just such a thing:-) Since I almost live next door to you in Greater Stockholm, I also think that spring is on its way. It will be up to 10 degrees tomorrow:-) Lovely pictures from the marina, they promise good!

Great that spring has finally found Sweden! Here in Crete it came 2-3 weeks early and has continued at a furious pace - too bad! The flowers almost have time to wilt before they open. Signs of spring.... yes, here spring is knocking on the door when the almond trees bloom! But there's still some way to go, like when tussilago looks up through thin snow cover.
